This picture of a UPS worker delivering a package on 9/11 right after the second tower was hit is so fascinating to me. I totally would have used two buildings being blown up and the city infrastructure pausing as an excuse to not do my job. Just go back to the depot and call it a day. on an entirely unrelated note, i was just reminded of a day pretty early in my freshman year of high school that i'd completely forgotten about.

for reasons i don't understand, when i drink soda from plastic bottles, i feel the need to reuse them for water at least once. so i was doing that with a sprite bottle, and a senior (the drum major i had a massive crush on) came up to me and was like "you know, reusing those can give you cancer".

and i, 14 years old and sure nothing was wrong with me, confidently replied "eh, we're all gonna die someday. if that's how i go, it's how i go". at the time, i didn't understand why he got really uncomfortable and walked away.

but uh. what the fuck? hey, 14 year old me, what the FUCK?
