With the change in seasons, that usually meant a change in temperature and/or weather patterns. From his travels he found that said changes could be as grand as going from sunny almost all the time to full on blizzards coming through or just a moderate change in temperature from those who inhabited a place changing their attire from shorts and sandals to more heavier coats and boots to combat the cooler air. The latter seemed to be true for where he found himself spending time with the beastkin.

However, seemed the change was a bit more sudden than his bunny eared companion was expecting that day given he had caught glimpses of her shivering and showing all the telltale signs that she was feeling cold. They hadn't had conversation about how the cold affected someone who was like herself, but Hiru could still understand the discomfort of being cold, and of course wouldn't want Tater going cold or even catching a cold due to the temperature change. So he did the only thing he knew to do.

Using his abilities he'd exude a bit more heat than he normally would before he had draped his jacket over her with a wide smile. "You're welcome." He'd state in response, as he now no longer had anything covering his torso. Given his aforementioned abilities the cold didn't bother him so he showed no sign of discomfort.

"Ya know you're always welcome to be closer if it would help keep ya warm too. I trust that ya won't bite." He'd offer his tone teasing her a bit with the latter part with a chuckle. "Speaking of bite, how much further to the restaurant ya were taking us to?"

Her question caused Hiru to tilt his head. He actually revealed his reasons for being here just moments ago, he was exploring. Hiru was a pirate, but ultimately he was also an adventurer and explorer. He traveled the world experiencing all he could with the freedom that being a pirate offered him. Though, Hiru could understand her still asking him the question since it was possible she was gauging his motives.

He could appreciate that. Hiru was a random stranger who just arrived at her home and was a complete outsider not from around her or knowing any of the norms of this land. If the shoe, or sandal, was on the other foot, he knew he'd be pretty protective of his home and make sure without a doubt someone wasn't a threat before showing them around.

So Hiru would nod to her, which also conveniently meant he was nodding toward Sunagakure, as she called it, behind her. "Honestly, I heard about there being a village out in the desert and my curiosity got the best of me." He'd state earnestly with a light chuckle. "I was curious what kind of culture there was, what kind of buildings there were to see, and the people that lived there. All in all I mainly came just to experience what Suna...gakure, hopefully I said that right, was like!"

Sand in the shoes was something Temari was used to. Sandals were always easier to empty anyway. This guy was indeed not from Suna. She wasn't certain if he was a threat or not though as he seemed to not be carrying a weapon so she wasn't positive if he was a civilian or ninja anyway.

Nevermind, he just confirmed her suspicion. He was just a traveler, from what he was saying. However, she learned, never be too careful and never reveal too much too soon. "What brought you to Sunagakure then?"

The words earned the stranger a raised eyebrow from the pirate captain. He hadn't sensed any presence following him, nor had he gotten any indication that there was any danger coming his way. From his training and time at sea Hiru had built up a good sense of his surroundings and awareness of those around him in general. Even though he did give off a more comfortable air about him, since with his goal of helping people he had to be approachable to make it easier to connect with others, his sharpened senses were still almost always active.

Furthermore, if someone had happened to slip passed his awareness, Hiru was more than capable as a fighter to take care of himself. Not only with hand to hand combat but also with his devil fruit abilities. So he had to wonder what the stranger's angle was. Were they attempting to use him as a mark given his more friendly and non threatening outward appearance to lure him away with the idea of there being a threat on him? Or maybe, just maybe even with Hiru's battle instincts someone had slipped passed any awareness he would have had of their presence and this person was genuinely trying to help?

Hiru chewed the thought over for a brief moment before deciding to ultimately follow the woman. If the latter case were true and someone truly was following him and he hadn't been aware of them, then there was a chance he really was in danger, and if it turned out to be a trick, then he'd be ready for whatever would be thrown his way. Either way he was better to air on the safe side. So he would look over to the stranger and give her a friendly smile, doing as she had said in pretending to know her. "Ya know ya somehow always know exactly the right thing to say at the exact times I need to hear it." He'd chuckle following behind her as was the other instruction.

Once they were more or less isolated Hiru would finally ask, "So who did ya catch following me?"

There was nothing worse than having to be stuck somewhere with someone who wasn't friendly. So when his cordiality was reciprocated, Hiru's smile grew wider. Looks like waiting this storm out wouldn't be so bad.

"It's nice to meet ya Koala." Hiru would nod in her direction politely. "I'm Hiru." Given she only gave her first name, he did the same. It worked out too since his full name and face were plastered on wanted posters, and right now he wasn't exactly sure where Koala stood when it came to her feelings on pirates. Though in thinking about it just his first name and even his face could immediately point someone back to his wanted poster, but he'd like to think he was being strategic regardless.

The pirate captain would lean against one of the cave walls, crossing his arms over his chest, "What brings ya out this way where ya had to end up ducking inside this cave with me? Are ya also trying to see if that rumor about some special treasure showing up after the storm is real?" He'd ask with a tilt of his head, curiosity present in his red eyes. "If ya don't mind me asking, that is. If ya do I can ask ya more mundane things like where're ya from to pass the time." He'd add with a chuckle.

Koala hadn't expected the sudden downpour to rush in when it did. Everything she'd researched about the island said it was going to have a decent sunny climate. And to make matters worse, she'd once again lost Sabo. She needed a leash for him sometimes, she swore. Finding no releif or sign of the downpour stopping anytime soon, she went to find refuge nearby and found herself in luck. Ducking down into a nearby cave, she could at least keep from getting drenched any further and enjoy the peace and quiet outside of the dysfunction of the Revolutionary Army. The voice, however took her off guard, though she sensed no hostility from the man. A small smile as he began squeezing the water out of the tips of her hair and wringing her hat out.

"Yupp. Had nowhere else to hide from it but here. I'm Koala, by the way."

It wasn't everyday one met an ally of one of the most legendary pirates to sail the sea, so of course Hiru was going to go over and speak when he saw her. Even with his polite and cordial demeanor upon meeting with the more experienced pirate captain, it was clear from the glint in his crimson hues that he was excited just to be speaking with a woman so renown.

Hiru was a man who appreciated learning from those who were more experienced than him, and who better than someone like Whitey Bay, someone who he was told sailed with Whitebeard himself and was now her own captain. Hiru could only imagine the stories she could tell, and how they'd correlate to the things he had heard about her in the lead up to meeting her in this moment.

"I can't necessarily say what the world says, given I haven't fully seen the world yet," Hiru would begin with a wide smile and chuckle before continuing "But I can say that just about all I've heard is pretty much unanimous when it comes to ya being pretty strong because of the time ya spent with Whitebeard and as a captain in the New World and that ya take no shit." Hiru would add that last part with an arch of the brow. "I will say something else I heard is that you're gorgeous but could be very cold. The latter I'm not seeing." He'd state with a chuckle, his tone earnest.

"My reputation, hm?"

The woman raises a brow, a laid-back smile upon her lips as she inspects the younger man standing before her. If he knew who she was, and the crew she allied with, he was brave indeed to approach her.

"Well, don't leave me in suspense! I'm curious to hear what the world has been saying about me!"

Hiru had extremely bad luck running into those who wore the Marine uniform whether it be in a random shop or even just a tavern he choose to stop in for a quick bite to eat. Somehow, someway, he'd run into someone who waved the Marine flag and, being a wanted man, that would immediately lead to him being chased by those who were meant to be keepers of the law. It got so bad that it had become a running joke within his own crew where they take would bets on if somewhere Hiru picked to go into would actually have someone in uniform in the establishment or not.

So being someone who understood this running gag the universe had placed on him, Hiru had become adept at taking backroads and alleyways when traversing the streets of islands that had a higher Marine presence, the island he was currently on being one of them. However, turns out he wasn't the only one strolling through the alley at that point as he spotted a black cat entering as well. The pirate captain was just about to make his presence known to it, and offer head scratches when he found himself blinking at the woman who stood before him.

When she whirled on him and practically threatened him, Hiru lifted his hands taking a non threatening, semi surrendering pose. "Woah woah. No need to get them involved. I won't tell anyone." Hiru would state, in the back of his mind the question of how her being a cat would somehow get him in trouble with the Marines. Though it was also possible she recognized him, but that still bode the question of why she wanted secrecy on her devil fruit abilities.

"If ya don't mind me asking though, are ya in trouble or something? Like are people looking for ya in your black cat form? If so I don't mind helping out if ya need." He'd offer, his words genuine and earnest as was reflected in his crimson eyes.

It's not a question, it's a statement. A pre-emptive one at that. If only because she can't count on the stranger to say not mention that she had turned from a little black cat to a fully grown woman in what she had assumed was an empty alleyway. Her own fault for not looking, properly, she supposed.

Not that she'd admit that out loud.

"And if I find out you did, I'll get the marines involved."

The warning gave him ample time for honed reflexes to kick in as a hand shot up to catch what was thrown at him. Hiru would blink a few times as he examined what he did catch and a brow would raise as he took in the rubber duck. A light chuckle would escape him as he looked over at the rubber duck pitcher and a wide grin would find its way to his face. "Long time no see Emil!" The pirate captain would toss the duck up in the air and catch it in his hand once more. "To what do I owe this new rubber ducky ya tossed my way?" He'd ask with a raise of the brow, that grin of his still beaming happy to see his friend again.

This wasn't his first rodeo in meeting an anthropomorphic creature. In fact he one on his crew, a red panda mink. Though this was definitely his first time meeting a blue hedgehog, and he didn't know that those even existed. Which where he was from, they probably didn't, but as Sonic, as he introduced himself, shared Hiru was somewhere called Green Hill Zone in....Mobius?

The pirate captain would blink at the revelation, of course certain things like the robots that were destroyed were far more advanced than anything he had seen before, and Sonic's abilities that he witnessed did give him pause but he hadn't explored the whole world so he figured there were things he had just never seen before. However, now, knowing what he did now it kind of made more sense that he was a long way from his home.

"Green Hill Zone of Mobius, huh?" Hiru would repeat as he took in the greenery of the location. "Yeah, ya weren't kidding I'm definitely not in Saskan anymore, Sonic." Hiru would let out a chuckle before continuing. "Saskan was the island I was exploring on before I ended up here. There was this big ring like structure and when I touched it the next thing I knew I was falling from the sky." He pointed up above where the two were standing. "And ya know the rest, I saw ya dealing with those robots and joined in to help." Hiru would look up in the sky and see that there was no ring portal or what have you still in the sky.

He'd look back at Sonic and put his arms behind his head with a grin. "Looks like I'm stuck here until I can find another one of those ring thingies to get me back home. Hopefully Sonic the Hedgehog doesn't mind having Hiru the Human tag along for a little while and show him around?"

{{ L }} Well, Hiru would be one of the few humans that hadn't automatically assumed Sonic was a rat. So points for him. Swiping his index finger under his nose, a chuckle leaving the Blue Blur.

" Yeah, I'm a hedgehog, and you're definitely far from home. " From the sound of it, the other was definitely from a world Sonic hadn't been to before. " Either way, nice to meet ya, Hiru. Name's Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog, and you have found yourself in Green Hill Zone of Mobius. "

The pirate captain would use a nearby building for leverage as he would stand on one leg and remove one of his shoes to let the sand drain out of it as he listened to the blonde woman speak. He'd arch a brow at her words and let out a light chuckle as he would pull his removed shoe back on and switch the leg he was standing on to clean out his other shoe. "Yeah I guess if ya have lived here for a long time ya just get used to it. Plus I guess I'm kinda the oddball given I'm wearing actual shoes and not sandals." He'd admit aloud as he had taken notice of the woman's footwear.

When she turned the questioning onto him, he'd offer a polite smile. "I'm actually not from any nation around here. I'm from a small island a good distance away from this land called Dragoon Island, but I've been traveling for the last 2 years exploring the world." He'd leave out a few key details, but he had only just met the blonde so best to not reveal everything yet. "I'm Hiru by the way! Probably should have introduced myself first before having ya show me around the village." He'd state with a more sheepish chuckle.

It was a lesson he learned very early on, something that his mother instilled in him throughout his time training under his father when Hiru's old man was looking to have the now pirate captain to be a marine. It was meant to serve as a warning to the younger Hiru to always be mindful of the feelings of himself and others to prevent himself from falling into the snare that came with power and ridding the darkness from the world. Though it wasn't until he was an adult that he would fully understand the message himself. It wasn't until he truly experienced the darkness that this world could bring that he'd be able to truly take the words to heart in order to do his part to help be a sun to shine away the dark.

"Well I'm glad it's not years ago and that ya can agree now." Hiru would offer a wide smile with a nod. "Means that ya had the right people supporting ya, and I made the right call in taking inspiration from your captain and crew."

"Where was I headed?" He repeated aloud and tilted his head as the words processed in his mind. "Don't really have a destination in mind. I was more just finding my way around and got lost, didn't really have a place I was actually going to. If that makes sense." He'd follow up with not before long with a friendly smile. "I probably should have worded that a bit better." Hiru rubbed the back of his head with a chuckle.

The pirate captain would then nod to the woman, "Do ya know any places worth checking out for a guy just visiting and exploring a new place while getting soaked by the rain?" He'd ask with another chuckle before realizing, "Oh sorry you're from around here right? I probably should have asked that first before asking for if ya knew any good sight seeing spots, I kinda assumed ya were from around here since ya weren't using an umbrella."

Hiru continued observing the larger man as they spoke, paying attention to the different maneurisms the big guy had taking much intrigue in him since he was very different than usual guys of his size. What's usually loads upon loads of confidence was a man more timid and shy and Hiru could understand why from what was shared. Hell he'd be pretty shy too if he was exiled and was one of the only sentient beings on a planet.

The pirate captain would gently place a hand on the other man's shoulder. "Just because someone was insecure of his own position he completely uprooted your life." He'd shake his head and it was clear he wasn't happy with the thought as he had dealt with a king with a similar mindset in his past. "Though it is good that your dad found ya and was there with ya." Hiru would state with a small smile, finding the silver lining.

As someone who had such a great relationship with his own father, he could appreciate the bond that Broly and his own father would have had on the planet. "Me and my old man are pretty close, he trained me and taught me pretty much everything I needed to know to be able to survive out this world, so I can only imagine how close your dad and ya are from that experience. Though, that being said ya would think the two of ya would be inseparable. Did....something happen to him?"

He gave a small nod at the comment on how similar he looks to humans, knowing that was why he was able to blend in with the populace easily aside from his stature and tail. His fingers began to fidget with the green pelt that he had tied around his waist. It was a source of comfort for him, something that helped calm him down when he was nervous or shy. "It was.. My dad and I.. were the only sapient beings.. The only other living things.. were Vampa bugs and Vampa beasts.."

He shook his head at the offered apology, having not taken any offense. "I was born." He said it so matter-of-factually. "The old king.. feared my power even as an infant.. so I was exiled as soon as.. I would be old enough to walk. I was alone on Vampa at first.. but my dad found me a few days later.."
