it is, yes.

i could write a lot about what that single piece of set dressing says about him as a character, and reflects how monsterously abusive parents still think of themselves as genuinely loving the children they are knowingly harming....

but the borderlands fandom did what fandoms always do, and decided the actual text was irrelevant and that the TRUE jack was a misunderstood hero saviour sex god, and aggressively turned on anyone who dared to discuss the story as written, finally solidifying for me that "fandom" is not a welcoming or kind place for someone wanting to engage with the themes and allegories of media beyond shipping and horny fanfic...

so like. i won't say more actually.
