ah that thing that happens when tumblr thinks a post will be of interest to you and you're like "eh, it's fine, i'm not very moved about it either way" so you don't respond to it and then tumblr thinks "oh maybe you didn't see it yet" and shows it to you again and you still are not you know that into it, it's fine! but not exciting so you still don't interact with it, and so tumblr keeps showing it to you, tumblr is so convinced it is the kind of thing you would like and you haven't commented on it or reblogged or even liked it yet, so clearly it hasn't made it through to you yet, better show you again! and in this way the things that are in your general penumbra of interest but not ACTUALLY interesting to you are the things you get to see a dozen days in a row. perfect!

Graft is good and patchwork is good, but may I also suggest "graftwork"? A graftwork named Steve.
There should be a new name for Frankenstein’s monsters as a species. I love Frankenstein’s monsters, I love mismatched flesh tones and visible stitches, but I can’t keep calling them Frankenstein’s monsters because A) most of them aren’t made by Frankensteins, and B) it’s a fucking mouthful every time. We need a generic no name brand Frankenstein’s monster.

Gideon, Harrow, Camilla, and Palamedes have now been living in their own bodies, in their own house, for six long and uneventful months. The novelty of life on the provincial, out-of-system moon is wearing thin, and grief is beginning to seep in. When it becomes clear that Harrow and Gideon are struggling, Cam and Pal conspire to play their final card: they unleash Pyrrha Dve.
(A standalone sequel to Cam and Harrow Take a Nap)

one of the best gideon moments hands down is when, post battle with new lyctor ianthe, she finds out that dulcinea and palamedes are sort of exes and she LIES DOWN ON THE GROUND ABOUT IT AND GROANS FOR FIVE WHOLE MINUTES. everyone is like “gideon get up” “gideon it’s not a big deal” and she is like literally i’m going to end it all. this is so embarrassing for me and palamedes must hate me (cam has told her four times this is Not True) i must go make things right with him immediately. babygirl there’s a feral infant proto-god who just consumed the soul of her 1950s greaser chewtoy sprinting around canaan house you HAVE to change your priorities. and yet she won’t and she doesn’t. i love her so bad

reading nona is like a neverending parade of lovely things. so many i can’t even parcel them out and exclaim in delight. pyrrha is calling the girls daddy’s own treasures and then nona is saying i love you to the revenant in the sky and then camilla is bleeding out saying it was worth it because she was happy for the brief minute she was with pal and then kevin is doing something complicated and involved with his eraser dolls and nona is saying the sexiest thing she can think of is a shampoo advertisement of flowers and the entire time you’re going “ooh ahh” because everything is full of love and all the little things are what make life worth living and somehow also that teaches you about the laws of the world they’re living in and the ten thousand year old melodrama that created them. also cam has a tally list of how many times nona mentions boobs to see if she’s really gideon … no other book is doing it like this. book of all time
