During the festival聽Storsj枚yran聽in 脰stersund Studio Herbarium held an open workshop in plant dyeing. For five days we dyed silk fabrics with plants from the area around 脰stersund in J盲mtland. A great number of people showed up to join us in our dyeing and we are so glad for all the knowledge, enthusiasm and exciting plants they brought with them.

Workshop in natural dyes.

This weekend Emma held a workshop in natural dyes at her old school in her hometown Krokom. The workshop was about playing and experimenting with natural colors as a way to inspire youths to use natural dyes as a way to re-make clothes or other textiles.聽
We experimented with natural dyes such as red onion skin, yellow onion skin, red cabbage, birch leaves and black beans. We had so much fun playing with tying and dying and experimented with different ph values on our dying baths, creating a variation of shades.
