What are grandma's for if not spoiling?! My mum gifted the hammies some of these Versele Laga treat sticks for Christmas and #Dumptruck was the lucky recipient of one of them. He's almost 28mo now and can enjoy some snackier snacks. He wanted to carry it home very much. His eyes had just been cleaned and opened up which is why his face is a bit wet. I alternate between a damp cotton bud or unscented, sensitive baby wipes (which we have lots of these days 🙃😂). Sticky eyes are pretty typical of seniors. They just don't clean as well when they wake up and when they do they're not as dextrous. Dumpers is doing pretty well all considering. #Dax here to tell you that while her momma's NY resolution to dechonkify is going well (yay Shy and @folkencada!) hers is not. Probably because the human feels guilty for the minimal interaction and keeps throwing in cookies. Which are enjoyed much better in the TARDIS and when human isn't watching 🤭. Realistically Daxums likely needs a full cleanout to remove any tempting extra snackies but alas that won't be able to happen for a little bit as I haven't had much time for anything these days. The last few days have been really challenging here at SBH. Not so little Pebble hit her 3wk growth spurt and ran both of us through the ringer. Buuuuut it looks like we've maybe gotten through it and we finally have some light at the end of the tunnel. So while I had grand plans to get to emails and applications this week I suspect that will need to wait until next week. I do apologise for being so slow with replying to people but I do hope folks are understanding given our recent life changes. Pebble very much enjoys contact naps especially during the day which means my hands and ability to do anything are very limited, lol. Hoping this changes as she gets bigger so we can be a bit more productive not just for the hamsters but around the house! I am hoping to slowly start bringing the girls back in February and breed a few litters... Sweet old man #Dumptruck is 27mo and certainly showing his age a little more these days. He had quite a gunky eye which @frankie_the_hamskey helped clean up earlier. He loves his snacks and especially the flax from @happyhamstery! All is well for us here, we are just very tired but getting more and more used to what our days look like now. Pebble is a pretty easy going baby despite their love of contact naps.
