Two years have passed
It was a wonderful summer evening, the streets were unusually quiet and calm, of course, cars drove on the roads, but mostly Central City would resemble an ordinary village if it wasn't so big. Of course, the city criminals did not go away, on the contrary, they were becoming more and more, but Flash coped with them. He often worked in tandem with Captain Cold, who decided that he had had enough of robberies, began, like Flash, to wear a mask covering his face and not allowing villains to find out his identity, and bad people were afraid of the tandem of two heroes like fire.
There was a dim light burning in one of the houses, but it was enough to illuminate a room where three people were sitting quietly and peacefully leafing through an album.
"Look how small he was," Barry was touched, looking at a photo of a toddler in a small apron.
Leonard smiled with the corners of his lips, touching his lover's hair with one hand and ruffling it.
The couple officially registered their relationship only a year ago and took a double surname, at the same time the guys adopted a three-year-old boy from an orphanage and, after consulting with each other, gave him the name Henry Maxwell Allen-Snart. The first name was given in honor of his grandfather, Henry Allen, and in order to pick up the second, they thoroughly dug into their pedigrees. Basically, only Barry was digging, Leonard flatly refused this and Allen did not insist, but the guys consulted with each other about the name.
The Stein couple, Raymond, Ramon-Snart and Thawne often came to visit the guys, Joe sometimes came with his daughter and son-in-law. The latter threatened Leonard that if he offended Barry, West would make Snart go to jail for his past deeds.
At the moment, Barry and Snart climbed onto the sofa and looked at the album, along with their son, who was sitting in the arms of Leonard's dad.
"And here's another one," Bartholomew pointed to the photo where Henry was depicted on a family holiday. In the photo, the kid was smiling happily and pulling pens to the photographer, who was Barry.
The boy laughed and asked his father for permission to take this photo in his hands to take a closer look at it. Flash nodded and, carefully removing the desired photo from the album, handed it to his son. He grabbed her with his hands and, smiling, began to look at her curiously, leading a small finger along the color picture.
Allen looked at Henry with tenderness in his eyes, then turned his eyes to Lenny, and suddenly something ached in his chest, because the guy thought that all this could not have happened if Leonard hadn't woken up then. Feeling that a little more and he could not stand it, Barry abruptly jumped up from his seat and, muttering something about "burning cookies", rushed off to the kitchen. The former criminal looked suspiciously after the runaway husband, because he knew that they did not do any baking today.
Smiling at his son and putting his finger to his lips to urge him to sit quietly, Leonard also slipped into the kitchen and froze, hiding at the door jamb. Fortunately, Barry couldn't see him, so he could unabashedly stare at Allen. Captain Frost was frowning, trying to figure out why his partner's mood had changed so dramatically.
"Hey,Scarlet?" Cold called his beloved in a low voice, and he, startled by surprise, turned around.
"Lenny..." Bartholomew immediately muttered, pulling a fake smile to calm the man down, but that was not so easy to fool.
"What happened,Scarlet?" he came even closer and stared expectantly at the speedster, slightly raising an eyebrow.
"I..." the guy began and suddenly realized clearly that if he did not tell what was the matter, he might lose the trust of Snart-Allen, whom he treasured very much, "I suddenly thought what would have happened if you had died then, and then I just thought that..." quickly Barry rattled off. Leonard, in order to interrupt the flow of words pouring out of Flash's mouth, gently kissed him, and after a few seconds pulled away, he realized what Barry wanted to say even during his speech. Allen looked at the Cold with the eyes of a frightened fawn, but gradually love and tenderness appeared in his gaze.
"Lenny..." he breathed out, smiling broadly. His beloved smiled back and, leaning forward a little, kissed the scarlet speedster on the tip of his nose. Barry's cheeks flushed and Len laughed softly, feeling very, very, just indecently happy.
"But I'm alive," Leo said with a questioning intonation and continued when the scarlet runner nodded, "so everything is fine," he finished, hugging his husband, "don't worry,Scarlet, I won't leave you for anything," saying these words, Snart kissed his beloved on the lips and hugged him even tighter, burying his nose in his hair.
They could stand like this for a long time, just standing together, feeling their partner's breath and his strong embrace.
"Thank you," Leonard unexpectedly quietly thanked, whispering these words in Barry's ear and causing him to be covered with goosebumps.
"For what?" Flash was genuinely surprised, turning to face the man.
"For changing my life," Snart simply replied and involved Allen in a long, gentle kiss…

___
Three years have passed
Christmas:
"Look, he's crawling, crawling!" Cisco exclaimed enthusiastically.
Luca Adam Snart-Ramon or Luke, as his family called him, really crawled on the carpet in Barry's house.
"I see," Allen smiled.
"And where is my little nephew here?" Leonard grinned, opening the front door and running into the hallway, and then into the living room right behind it, where Cisco, Barry and Luca were sitting. The kid smiled toothlessly and laughed loudly when his uncle picked him up in his arms and threw him into the air, however, he immediately caught him.
"Careful, Lenny, don't drop it," with a soft smile on her scarlet lips, Lisa shook her finger at him, who went into the house right after her brother.
"Hell-o-o-o..." Cisco drawled, kissing his wife on the temple. She just squeezed her eyes shut with pleasure and smiled brightly at her beloved.
"Ahem, are we bothering you?" Caitlin appeared in the doorway of the house, flushed from the cold, and Ronnie was standing behind her.
The younger Snart laughed loudly and Ramon froze for a moment, admiring his wife. He loved her in every way, but it was just like that — cheerful, perky, laughing— he liked her the most.
"No," Lisa smiled, pulling her friend to her for a hug. Cisco shook Ronnie's hand and the friends hugged.
Joe, Iris and Eddie came for them. It was hard for Mrs. Tone to walk: her little baby, who was in her stomach, was already seven months old, so Edward gently held his wife by the shoulders.
"Hello," the Stein couple appeared in the corridor at the same time greeted everyone, then, realizing what had happened, the husband and wife laughed, and everyone else picked up their laughter.
Barry quietly dragged his partner into another room.
"Do you want a baby, Lenny?" Barry asked bluntly, because he knew that his husband did not understand the hints and he needed to say directly what was wanted from him.
He hung for a couple of seconds, and then stared suspiciously at his lover.
"Why suddenly such a question?" he clarified, looking for a catch in Flash's words, "what are you… My God, are you pregnant?" Snart gasped, peering into the guy's face, "how?!"
"First of all, I'm not God, and secondly, no, I'm not pregnant," Allen laughed, hearing Leonard immediately exhale with relief, "I just want..." Barry still plucked up the courage, "I want us to adopt a child," he blurted out and he looked Frost straight in the eyes.
"Do you understand that it is a very responsible role to be a parent?" he glanced at his beloved Snart from under his brows, "and given my past, it is unlikely that it will be possible to take a child from an orphanage."
"Eddie and Joe promised to help with this, I also asked the people who are responsible for all this, and they agreed, because you were acquitted, and you were not guilty at all... of some crimes, yes, and I also understand that this is a very important role and I think That I'm ready for such a responsibility," Bartholomew rattled on an exhale, and biting his lip, looked at Len, "and you?
He groaned inwardly — Barry was looking at him with his trademark puppy dog look, which was never impossible to refuse.
"Probably, yes, I'm ready, but I'm not completely sure about it..." Captain Frost muttered softly, "if it works out, then yes, I agree," the man raised his index finger up.
Barry nuzzled his neck and laughed softly.
"You're going to be a wonderful father, Len..." he muttered, closing his eyes, "I'm sure of it"…
Leonard silently ruffled the guy's hair with his palm and smiled affectionately.
In the end, they all found their happiness.

___
Leonard woke up from the fact that he no longer had nightmares and did not feel any pain, either phantom or real. Lifting his head, he looked around. It seems that at the moment he was in S.T.A.R. Labs, and next to him on a chair sat... Barry?.. And he was holding his hand?..
The man tried to gently release his hand from the tenacious grip of Allen's fingers, but he stirred and Snart froze.
"Len..." Flash exhaled with relief, opening his eyes and seeing that his soulmate had regained consciousness.
"Wh..." Captain Frost wanted to be indignant, saying, "what are you doing, I'm Leonard Snart for you!", but his gaze involuntarily slipped to their clasped hands and the criminal shut up, being in the deepest shock.Their hands were glowing. Barry was taking his pain away. Barry was his soulmate.
Leonard clearly saw the inscription "Error" flashing brightly in his head. He looked at the glowing palms in bewilderment and could not believe that it was true, because his father was sure that he would be a dark, nasty, dirty soul and, accordingly, would remain without a soulmate, and over time, Lenny himself believed it.But here they are sitting, and they are soulmates. The man thought for a couple more seconds and smiled mirthlessly. What a bitter irony it must be for Barry: the hero found his soul mate, and she turned out to be his sworn enemy.
Snart pulled his hand out of Flash's grasp as quickly as if Barry was boiling water, and Leonard accidentally put his hand in there, and immediately groaned from a wild headache, clutching his head and twisting his face.
Allen reacted instantly, grabbed him by the same hand, squeezed it and concentrated, feeling the pain of Snart flowing through his veins, filling him from the inside, penetrating into every cell, and at the same time feeling this pain leaving his soulmate's body.
"And how long have you been sitting like this?" Frost asked when the pain no longer clouded his consciousness, feeling that the silence was becoming unbearable.
"I didn't count," came the muffled reply, Bartholomew was too focused on taking the pain away from Leonard to count the hours, minutes or seconds.
They sat there for several hours, sometimes talking about abstract topics, and after that Cisco, Lisa, Caitlin, Ronnie, Iris, Eddie, Martin, Clarissa, and Joe came to the lab. By that time Captain Cold was feeling a little better and Barry took his hand away from him.
"Lenny!" Lisa exclaimed joyfully, running up to her lying brother and gently hugging him, "I'm so glad you woke up..." she breathed into his hair, closed her eyes and kissed him on the top of his head, almost crying with happiness.
"I love you too, little sister," the man grinned, closing his eyes from this unexpected caress and soothing stroking the younger Snart's hand.
"I have news," the girl suddenly declared, smiling mysteriously and coming closer to Ramon.
"I don't think it's a good idea right now..." the guy drawled, cautiously squinting at his beloved's brother.
"What's wrong?" the criminal instantly inquired, boring the black-haired man with a heavy look, because it was very suspicious that his sister's mood had changed so dramatically. Cisco swallowed nervously, wondering if Snart would finish him off on the spot or would he wait until Lisa didn't see it?
A beaming Lisa took her lover's hand and Leonard literally choked on air when he saw that their palms lit up.
"I'm very happy for you," the man smiled warmly and sincerely at his sister, and she hugged him again, "if you offend her, I'll wring your neck," Frost warned in all seriousness when Lisa had already left the room, and Ramon raised his hands, as if surrendering, and followed for your soul mate.
As soon as the door closed behind him, Bartholomew took his soulmate's hand again, and Snart turned a very thoughtful look at Allen.
"And what are we going to do with this?" Leonard pointed with his free palm at their joined glowing hands. It still seemed to him that it was some kind of beautiful terrible unreal dream. Just a crazy figment of his imagination. But at the same time, he did not want the dream to end, he felt comfortable and for some reason very calm next to Barry, even though he was a police criminologist, as well as Flash, the hero of the city, in one person.
"To live, Len," Barry smiled gently at him, "just to live…"

___
"I didn't find him," Barry breathed out noisily, literally flying into S.T.A.R. Labs, sinking into a chair and taking off his mask, "how was I supposed to find him at all, if what you soulmates can be understood only by touching each other?" the guy who ran around the city for several hours waved his hand and everything turned out to be useless.
Only at this moment did he look at his friends and the younger Snart. There were no faces on them because they were all very, very pale.
"What?" the hero instantly tensed up, "what happened?"
"He's getting worse, Barry," Lisa sobbed, "if there really is no soulmate, then Lenny can…"
She didn't finish because she started choking when she tried to squeeze out the word "die". Cisco hugged the girl, stroking her hair, and then whispered softly:
"Everything will be fine, he will definitely be found…"
Gradually, the Glider quieted down, only her shoulders were still shaking.
"Did he not come to his senses?" Flash frowned.
"No," Caitlin shook her head, while everyone else watched as a superhero costume appeared on a mannequin, and Barry turned out to be dressed in a gray T—shirt, a sweatshirt with the inscription "S.T.A.R. Labs" and jeans.
The team went to Snart's bunk to monitor his condition. He was choking, then he could breathe normally again, but Snow was afraid that the man would suffocate after all.
Suddenly Leonard began to toss around on the bed again and whisper in delirium: "Don't touch Lisa... no... No… Please...".
His sister howled softly and buried her face in Ramon's T-shirt.
Almost without thinking, Barry touched Snart's hand to somehow show him that he was not alone, that there was someone nearby and supporting him, and then stared in amazement at the glowing palms. On their glowing palms, damn it!
The guy heard a friend whisper to his beloved, "look...", so he turned his gaze to the same shocked friends and Lisa, dumbfounded, but happy.
"Barry..." she breathed out, "you can save him... please help him..." the girl stretched out pleadingly looking at the guy, folding her hands in a prayer gesture.
Allen glanced at Caitlin, who nodded, smiling. Ronnie, hugging her from behind, raised an eyebrow questioningly, saying, "why are you procrastinating?". Joe just shrugged, Iris nodded her head with a sly smile, and Eddie tilted his head to the shoulder, agreeing with his fiancee.
Indeed, why did he hesitate? They turned out to be soulmates—it absolutely did not want to fit in him head— he could help Snart wake up.
Barry could not even think that this would be exactly the case, that they would turn out to be kindred spirits and the universe would make fun of them in this way, but still he took hissoulmateby the hand again and concentrated, closing his eyes.
At first, a fierce cold spread through the guy's veins, and then Flash felt a pleasant tingling warmth somewhere in his fingertips. He gave himself a clear command:"help To Leonard Snart to my soulmate to wake up from a nightmare and take away his pain".
Caitlin decided that Allen needed a chair to sit and not stand, so Ronnie brought it and put it next to the cot on which Snart was lying.
With a grateful nod to Firestorm, Barry sat down on a chair, not letting go of Leonard's hand.
***
Several hours have passed, the Flash team has already gone home, because it was late in the evening, and Snart did not come to himself, although he began to breathe evenly and was no longer suffocating almost . "Almost" — because Barry had to leave him for a short time due to natural needs, and whenever Allen came back, the first thing he heard was muffled wheezing. Barry was very worried about the fact that the elder Snart still hadn't woken up, but he tried not to despair, he believed in the best until the last, because if they were soulmates, then he could help him, he should help him.
Flash didn't sleep most of the night, but closer to dawn, the guy dozed off, not letting go of the man's hand from his. In his half-sleep, it seemed to him that Captain Cold tensed and stirred, and then Bartholomew woke up.

Chapter 3: Pain

All the names are made up
___
Barry Allen's adoptive father and part-time detective in the Central City Police Department, Joseph West, his daughter Iris, her fiance, and Joe's partner, Edward Thawne, arrived at S.T.A.R. Labs, since Barry called Joe, Thawne asked for him, and Joe's daughter "she just didn't call me right on time, so I had to pick her up," as Eddie put it.
While they were standing in the laboratory discussing Snarts, not very quietly, though, although there was a Golden Glider next to them, about twenty minutes had passed since Barry ran off to look for Leonard's soulmate.
"I have to leave, urgently," Mrs. Raymond burst into the room. She frantically began stuffing the necessary things into her bag, and then hurried to the exit.
"And you will leave him in this state?" Lisa asked Caitlin, looking towards the room where her brother was lying.
"I'm not leaving him, I need to consult with Ronnie and I don't want him to go or fly here through the whole city," the girl quickly explained.
"And why with him?" The younger Snart asked curiously and turned her gaze to Killer Frost.
"We had a similar situation," Snow calmly shrugged her shoulders, taking her outerwear from the hanger.
While Lisa and everyone else stared after her, puzzled, Mrs. Raymond left.
***
"Cait!"
The girl turned to the voice and involuntarily smiled, noticing at the end of the alley the rapidly approaching silhouette of her husband.
He approached her, kissed her gently on the lips, and then asked:
"What happened?"
"We need to find soulmate Snart, but this is too problematic due to the fact that he is... uh... lying and delirious," waving her arms, rammed Snow-Raymond.
"Hush, honey, hush," trying to calm his wife, Ronald spoke in a low voice, noticing how people were squinting at them, "let's go to a cafe now and discuss everything calmly there, and then, if you want, we'll go to S.T.A.R. Labs together," suggested a man.
The girl thought only for a couple of seconds, and then nodded vigorously.
***
"So," massaging his temples with his fingers, Ronnie exhaled wearily when his beloved explained the situation to him, "Barry didn't find him?" the guy and the girl had already run out of coffee, so they could calmly talk about what Killer Frost wanted to discuss.
"No," Caitlin shook her head, "and how, because Snart himself is needed for this."
"Good," the man muttered thoughtfully, and, glancing sideways at the surprised Cait, corrected himself, "or rather, bad, bad."
They were just silent for about five minutes, thinking, and then the man got up from his seat.
"Then why are we still sitting? Let's go, Cait," he smiled and held out his hand to his wife. She, leaning on her, got up from the chair in which she was sitting and, having paid, the couple headed for the exit of the cafe.
***
"...but you shouldn't be there right now!" Cisco's loud voice could be heard even in the hallway.
"And where?" Mrs. Raymond asked curiously as she entered the laboratory.
"Caitlin!" Ramon jumped up on the spot in surprise, "Ronnie!" The guy exclaimed when he saw his friend.
"Yes, I'm here, hello, Cisco," Firestorm grinned.
"I called Professor Stein," the black-haired man addressed his colleagues.
"Who has already arrived," Martin's voice came from the door. He entered the laboratory with Clarissa and looked at everyone gathered with a curious look.
"Is Caitlin and Ronnie there?" Barry's voice suddenly sounded from the speaker.
"Yes!" Cisco and Caitlin shouted in unison.
"And Professor Stein with his wife," looking at the married couple, Ronald said into the microphone.
"Wonderful", the hero in the red suit sighed, calculating how many people were in S.T.A.R. Labs right now, "so where should I run?"
"It seems that their headquarters is located at eleven Main Street, floor nine, apartment one hundred and fifteen, it is registered to Brian Wood.
"Got it", Flash replied and sped up.
Cisco turned to his friends.
"I found the gang that Parker Fox was in, and it seems they are all meta-human there," he explained.
"Show me," Caitlin sat down next to her friend.
"Here," Ramon brought up a dossier on each of the criminals on the computer screen, "Fox's accomplices are named Brian Wood, Jeb Gold, David Green and Michael King. It seems they were all in the same place when the particle accelerator exploded."
"So you think they might have the same powers?" after a moment's hesitation, Bartholomew clarified.
"It's unlikely, but still be careful, please," Snow asked him.
"I will," Flash answered briefly and disconnected.
"So, why didn't Barry ask about how many criminals there were before he ran to save the city from them?" raising an eyebrow and looking at Ramon, Cait folded her arms on her chest.
"Barry ran away so fast that..." Cisco waved his hand vaguely, – in general, I didn't have time to tell him…
"Well, yes, he's a hero, this is his job", Lisa, who was sitting on a chair next to the entrance to the room, smiled mirthlessly.
Caitlin turned to her.
"He sincerely wants to help everyone, Lisa, it does not depend on whether he is a hero or not," Snow—Raymond explained with a heavy sigh, slightly shaking her head from side to side.
***
Four criminals were in an apartment that previously belonged to Brian Wood's mother, and now was registered to Brian himself, and were making plans to rescue their friend Parker from a Central City police station cell created specifically for meta-people, since they said on the news that he was there. Although Michael doubted the veracity of the journalist's words, Brian, who was in charge of their company, decided to take a chance and make sure of it clearly. What if Fox is really there, and they just don't dare to get him out?
"And if he's not there after all? What if this is a media "duck" in order to lure us out?" King said excitedly, "what if we get carried away, but in fact he is not there and never was?"
The faces of his friends instantly darkened. Although they thought about such an outcome, they still hoped that they would be able to find Parker alive and at least relatively unharmed, and then pay off the tormentors of a comrade for the pain that he is probably being inflicted now. Michael's assumption gave them reason to doubt that the plan would be executed.
"Then we need to prepare well, and we can go straight to the police station to find out where Parker is now, anyway, the police should have at least some notes about this case, and judging by the news, the policeman who detained him works there," grinned Wood, getting up from his chair, "we're meta, which means we can fight back against the night guards," he finished stretching his whole body.
"But what about Flash?" Jeb asked him in bewilderment, "we didn't hide so much just to get caught like that.
"Flash is the same human as us," the head of the group drawled mockingly," he also has his weaknesses, you just need to find out which ones and that's it. So are you with me?"
The answer to him was a discordant chorus of voices that dragged only one word:
"Yes!!!"
***
Somehow, imperceptibly, night fell on the city, covering everything around with its pitch darkness. The lanterns that illuminated the area went out, and most people had been in their cozy homes and apartments for a long time and were going about their business. Of course, not all residents of the city were not on the street at that time, some were standing in traffic on the road, someone was just coming from friends, and someone, on the contrary, was heading to work.
Four friends purposefully moved to the Central City Police Department to finally find out where their partner was staying now.
"Does everyone remember the plan?" Brian finally clarified, loading his gun.
"Of course," David snorted, looking around at the others, "we're not morons."
The men nodded and also reloaded the weapons they had, not only the leader had a gun, all the gang members took them, because, although they were meta-people, they preferred to use their forces only at the most dangerous or decisive moment.
"Then let's get to work," Wood nodded his head.
§§§
"They are not here, Cisco!" Barry exclaimed in despair, looking around the apartment, "where else can they be?"
Suddenly, a red dot lit up on the map of the city, which meant that an alarm had gone off somewhere.
"I think they are in the police department building," Ramon replied to his friend, looking at the screen, "it seems that we have been figuring out their location for too long."
"I'm already running," Flash replied.
§§§
"We just need to find these damn notes," Brian muttered to himself, and then turned to David, since only he could help from their company, because he was a great hacker, "can you hack his computer?"
"I think so," he nodded and headed to the table.
"Not so fast," Barry said, appearing behind the criminals.
"Flash..." grinned Wood.
Three people immediately broke away from the search and prepared to attack the Lightning to give their partner time to hack the police officer's computer.
"Did you decide that you could stop us?" The gang leader grinned.
Allen didn't understand what he meant at first, but he instantly realized as soon as he threw a cooler of water in his direction, in which for some reason it wasn't there.
Then Barry realized that Jeb Gold controlled the water because it obeyed the wave of his hand and he could probably use it as much as he wanted, David Green, who was dealing with Joe's computer at that moment, did not feel pain, Brian Wood could make a person sleep with a touch, and Michael King turned out to be a telekinetic: he was with easily moved objects with the power of thought.
Flash focused on finding the weaknesses of his opponents.
After a few minutes, it turned out that Jeb would not be able to use water if it evaporated, because he could not turn steam back into water, David did not feel his pain, but he felt the pain of his friends, which became clear due to the fact that King accidentally touched Wood with a heavy statuette that was on the shelf, Brian needed there was tactile contact with his potential victim, and Michael's ability affected only objects, but not living beings.
Barry used their weaknesses against them. First of all, he neutralized Michael by making sure that there were no objects that could be moved in the man's field of view and he had to go to another office or at least go out into the corridor, somehow bypassing the Flash, then he caused Brian harm, not very big, true, but sufficient for in order to make David bend over in pain and lose his bearings for a while, so the criminal could not finish hacking the computer, and at the same time began to fight with Wood, who could not put him to sleep, since the hero of the city was in a suit, right, the criminal tried to grab him by the face, but Flash deftly dodged unwanted touches, and eventually managed to twist his hands behind his back, and only then began to Jeb, shutting off all the water in this and the nearest offices for a few minutes, as well as taking out all the coolers.
After defeating the enemies, the guy in scarlet transported the criminals to S.T.A.R. Labs, put them straight into the particle accelerator, or rather, into the cells for meta-people and, without looking at his team and those people who were with her now, ran back to the station to bring everything in order there the order, for example, to return the coolers to their rightful place and open the water, and then ran out into the street.
***
"Everything went well, so I'm starting to search again," Flash said with satisfaction in his voice.
His friends simultaneously exhaled with relief.
"Did you connect a medical device to this computer?" Cait suddenly asked Cisco.
"Yes," he drawled and displayed the data of Snart's health status on the screen. Frost nodded and almost calmed down, but a feeling of some vague anxiety settled in her soul.
Suddenly, some wheezing was heard from the room where Leonard was lying. Caitlin exchanged glances with Ramon and they, without a word, jumped up and rushed to Captain Cold.
The girl quickly checked his indicators, his heartbeat and pulse increased, as it seemed to the man that he did not have enough air. Or maybe it seemed to him that someone was deliberately blocking the access of oxygen to his lungs?
"Did your father ever strangle him?" Caitlin asked quickly.
Lisa thought for only a couple of seconds, and then quickly and convulsively nodded, almost not breathing.
"This is bad," Snow muttered, "this is very, very bad…"
"He will survive, right?" The younger Snart's lips trembled.
"Yes, if Barry finds his soulmate," Raymond nodded, frowning.
The criminal's face turned white.
"And if not?.." she asked in a barely audible voice, "if he suddenly doesn't turn up, then what will happen to Lenny?" The girl looked at her brother with fear.
"If not..." Cait took a deep breath and looked at Lisa with a sympathetic look, "if Barry fails to find his soul mate, then I'm afraid Leonard is in danger of an early death from lack of air…"

Chapter 2: Delirium

___
"I know that my brother doesn't have the purest soul, maybe even completely unclean," Lisa said with a nervous laugh, "but he doesn't commit robberies without a reason, he always has a reason, whether it's lack of money, food or clothes," the Golden Glider snorted, trying to say it as nonchalantly as possible "and he also tries not to kill people. He didn't kill a single person, only wounded them."
Cisco, standing behind the criminal, was hugging the girl by the shoulders, and she was smiling. She couldn't believe at all that she had found her soul mate.
Suddenly, some strange sounds were heard from the room where Captain Frost was. Lisa, along with Barry's team, hurried there.
"No, don't touch her! Lisa, no!" the elder Snart whispered desperately and loudly, rushing around the cot.
Snow felt Leonard's forehead.
"Yes, he has a fever!" Cait exclaimed anxiously.
– You need to shoot down, — Barry said decisively.
He went to get a thermometer and medicines, but Lisa's voice stopped him.
"It won't help," the girl shook her head, "we need to find his soulmate."
"Is it impossible to do without it?" Flash asked hopefully.
"No, otherwise Lenny will die," Snart clamped her hand over her mouth, as if not believing that she said it out loud.
The hero of the city frowned and nodded.
"I'll find him," he promised and, grabbing the suit, ran out of the building before Leonard's younger sister had time to ask the logical question "how?".
***
The guy was on the street almost in an instant and took a deep breath of the cool fresh air of his beloved city. Now he faced an important task: he had to find soulmate Leonard Snart. To be honest, Barry was a little doubtful about whether this criminal had a soul mate at all, but it was worth a try.
The universe of soulmates in their world was arranged in such a way that usually kindred spirits were, for example, a criminal and a criminal, or a hero and a hero, but there were also those over whom she could play a joke, sometimes an evil joke. So, for example, she could bring together a policeman and a criminal or a hero and a criminal. What the soulmate would be like did not depend on people in any way.
Barry grinned mirthlessly. Yeah, I volunteered to help on my own head… And how will he look for this soulmate?!
But then the criminologist remembered that during the robberies, Leonard sometimes accidentally touched victims or hostages, who were then released and information about this was stored in Snart's personal file, so the hero in a red suit went to the police department.
***
For about half an hour, Barry had been carefully reviewing the dossier on Snart and the cases in which he was involved. Everything was as deaf as in a barrel.
Out of anger, the guy threw the folder on the floor, and then covered his face with his hands. God, how can find him?
Suddenly, footsteps were heard, but before the visitor could enter, Flash collected the sheets that had fallen out of the folder back and ran out of the building, taking her with him. He caught a glimpse of the surprised Captain Singh, who was a visitor to the police station at that hour.
"Maybe it just seemed?" David muttered to himself and looked puzzled at his feet, and then forward, "yes, that's right, it's from lack of sleep, poor nutrition, stress and stress at work..." the man mumbled, sharply waving his hand in which he held a thick briefcase, it opened and all the papers that lay inside were strewn with the floor is like snow "your mother…"
***
Allen in a Flash suit had been running around the city for about half an hour, trying to calm down, concentrate and think about how to find soulmate Snart, but nothing concrete came to mind. He stopped and angrily slammed his fist into the wall of the nearest house, without putting much effort. A crack went down the wall…
The hero of the city stared in amazement at his handiwork, and then shook his head, hoping that he had just imagined it and looked at the wall again. It turned out, no, I didn't see a damn thing.
Barry sighed heavily and, after thinking for a couple of seconds about whether it was worth fixing the crack, rushed to fix this problem. So at least he will be distracted from worrying thoughts about Snarts…
When Flash, to his unspeakable joy, somehow finished messing with the wall, Ramon contacted him.
"Barry..." he breathed into the microphone, "we have a problem…"
"What's wrong, Cisco?" The guy in scarlet was instantly alert.
"I found a place where Parker Fox's gang can hide," his friend explained, – well, that is, not his gang, but his friends, associates..." he was ready to embark on a long explanation.
"I understand you," Flash interrupted him, "so where can they be now?"

Chapter 1: Memories

All the names are made up
___
There was a new meta-human in Central City who could cause the worst nightmares by touching his victim. Parker Fox was a thief and a murderer who belonged to a local gang, he did not disdain even torture. Initially, Francisco Ramon, who came up with nicknames for all meta-people, nicknamed him "The Nightmare Man", but then, deciding that this nickname did not fit, renamed him "Boogeyman" after consulting with Caitlin Snow, who had seen a character with that name in some cartoon.
***
When Flash's team, which included Cisco, Caitlin and Bartholomew Allen, actually Flash, the hero of Central City, asked for help from a brother and sister named Snart, criminals and thieves, Barry could not even think that Leonard, and Lisa after him, would agree to help the hero of the city.
But things went awry when Flash got too close to the man. Parker wanted to touch the Lightning, but the elder Snart managed to get between them, exposing himself to the blow. Fox was not upset because the victim of nightmares was not a hero in a red suit, but a criminal, he just grinned and tried to escape with a nasty smile. He tried, because the Flash caught up with him almost instantly. Joseph West was there and Allen helped his foster father handcuff Parker.
***
"You little bastard!" Lewis growled when Leonard, defending little Lisa, punched his father in the eye.
"No, Lenny!" The youngest Snart exclaimed desperately when she saw that her father dragged Len into the basement.
But the policeman, ignoring his daughter's screams, closed the door to the room...
***
"Snart?" Flash asked, noticing that something was wrong with the man and running up to the unexpected ally. He was holding his head and moaning continuously, his eyes were tightly squeezed shut, as if he was experiencing a terrible headache.
Watching a man writhe on the ground, clearly in some kind of seizure or worse, was unbearable, so Allen contacted his friends Cisco and Caitlin.
"What should I do?" the guy asked.
"The sooner you get him to S.T.A.R. Labs, the better it will be for him," Snow replied.
"Understood," Bartholomew said shortly and, picking up Leonard in his arms, rushed to the laboratory in which he "worked".
***
"What's wrong with him?!"
This question caused the Flash team to break away from discussing the health status of Captain Cold and turn around.
"What's wrong with him?" Lisa repeated, moving closer to Barry, "what's wrong with my brother?"
He looked at his friends, and then shifted his gaze to the younger Snart.
"He..." the guy hesitated, and then ran his hand through his hair, bringing it into disarray, so he tried to calm down, "he got between me and the "Boogeyman".
"Boogeyman"? Like in "Rise of the Guardians"? And who is the "Boogeyman" who is here, and not in the cartoon?" Lisa asked in bewilderment, and when she received an explanation, she only nodded understandingly, "yes, Lenny can do that," the Golden Glider smiled sadly, and then pointed towards the room with the cot, this was the room in which Barry lay after he was struck by lightning and fell into a coma, the cot was removed from there, of course, later, but it was returned back when Flash dragged Leonard to S.T.A.R. Labs, "is it possible there?" the girl clarified.
Caitlin hesitantly shook her head and Lisa, shaking her hair, entered the room.
***
"Lenny..." whispered Snart. Her heart was painfully squeezed because she saw her always strong and brave older brother, who constantly protected and continues to protect her, helpless, in need of help.
"Lisa..." Leonard muttered through a viscous, incessant nightmare, "I promise, he will never touch you again, I promise, I promise..." he swore almost continuously.
The girl sobbed softly and, coming closer, gently stroked the man's hair, which caused him a painful sigh.
"Everything will be fine, Lenny, we'll get you out of there, just be strong, please, for my sake..." whispered Snart.
***
"Well done, you've been listening for almost a week," Lewis praised his son. The boy only nodded, accepting the praise and cautiously squinted at the whip held in his father's hands. Leonard's gut told him that there was going to be a "but...".
And, as if reading his thoughts, the man added:
"But you have to obey me not because you are afraid of punishment, but because I am your father," the elder Snart said admonishingly.
With these words, he grabbed the whip more comfortably, and, pulling down his pants from his son, hit him hard on the buttocks, even tears sprang from his eyes from the pain.
To be honest, Lenny didn't want to scream, but it was easier than enduring this wild pain in silence, so he screamed, for which he received a dozen more blows and the scream gradually turned into quiet whining.
At this time, in another room, curled up and trying to be as inconspicuous as possible, a girl was lying on the floor behind the sofa. She covered her ears with her hands and hot tears flowed from her eyes, watering the carpet that was very expensive for her father.
***
"That's all," the younger Snart finished her story in a colorless tone.
The Flash team just froze, no one thought that this was the childhood of these people, did not think that because of this they grew up like this, although this is understandable, given that Lewis Snart was a corrupt policeman, as well as the fact that residents of nearby houses often complained about the screams coming from the Snart house and they went to the policeman to sort it out, but no one did anything. All the neighbors did not say a word on this topic, and when Lewis stole the emerald and the case came to court, only three people confirmed the words of Leonard and Lisa Snart, who accused their father of abuse, but Barry, Caitlin and Cisco found out about all this much later.
"I'm sorry," Caitlin squeezed out of herself, and Francisco hugged the girl, spitting on the fact that she was a criminal, because now she clearly needed support, and the only person truly dear to her is tossing around in a delirium in a cot in S.T.A.R. Labs.
Golden Glider smiled faintly and felt the guy touch her hand, and then Leonard's sister intertwined their fingers, because even when someone hugged Lisa, she felt lonely.
Suddenly, Ramon and Snart's hands glowed with a soft white light.
"Cisco..." Snow breathed out in amazement, "she's your soul mate…"
"And what to do about it?" the guy asked, puzzled, hugging Lisa, who immediately began to cry, burying her nose in his chest.
"I have no idea..." Barry muttered softly, watching Ramon soothingly patting the sobbing girl on the back.
The younger Snart pulled away from Francisco, smiling at him, and then took a deep breath and, wiping tears from her face, said:
"We need to find soulmate Len, and urgently. Only he can bring him out of this state."

___
Late evening. Lanterns had been lit on the street for a long time, illuminating the way home for people who had been delayed. The moon was shining brightly in the sky, and the windows of the houses were curtained, light burned in them, which even made its way through the curtains.
But in one of the houses, the curtains on the windows were curtained a few days ago and have never been opened since. No one cared, because the owners could have gone somewhere, so the neighbors were calm about it, and in the meantime, a fierce horror was happening in the house…
"Your mother wasn't my soulmate," Lewis Snart hissed, bending over his little son, cowering on the floor, "and Lisa's mother wasn't my soulmate," the man laughed nervously, "they even told me that I didn't have a soul mate, they said that I was so bad that my fate is to be lonely," the elder Snart laughed loudly, waving his arms, in one of them there was a bottle of alcohol from which he drank.
He came closer to Leonard lying on the floor and, trying to say the phrase clearly, said:
"And you will be the same as me, I can guarantee it," grinned right in his son's face.
The boy was silent, because he knew that his father would be more angry if he spoke, and even more so if he objected to him. He wanted to close his eyes, but stopped in time, because Snart Sr. did not like it wildly, for this he could hit so that it would be visible to everyone around, and Leonard had nothing to hide bruises. Lenny prayed to himself that Lewis would not touch his little sister Lisa, who was sitting in another room at that time and was afraid to look out, because a drunk father is the worst nightmare of the children of this family.
The corrupt policeman was very cruel — when he was drinking, he often severely beat his daughter and son, threw things at them and mocked them in every possible way, which, however, was normal for him even when he was sober, so the children tried to come home as late as possible or, conversely, as early as possible, but in this case, they sat in their room as quietly as mice and, if possible, did not stick out.
At this time, the father went outside to buy more drinks, well, or try to do it, since it was immediately obvious that he was damn drunk, and the boy carefully got up from the floor and staggered towards his sister.
"Lenny..." Lisa sobbed, holding out her hands to him. He immediately picked up the girl in his arms and, when she snuggled up to him, stroked her hair soothingly, and then whispered, trying to believe in his own words:
"Everything is fine, he will never touch you again, I promise."
