Notes: It’s now at 98,334 words, so all the polishing put me up by 625.
I have taken the Act III prelude and made it the Act II postlude instead, because really, it fits better as part of II than III. It does mean that Act II is quite enormous, but I think that’s okay.
Speaking of which:
Act I: 24,757 words
Act II: 39,528 words (11,3675 prelude; 10,008 postlude)
Act III: 19,203 words
Epilogue: 9428 words
The VVE: 5387 words
(Yes, I know that’s not 98,334 words; I didn’t count Act titles and such 🙂)
And in turn, speaking of Act titles, I’m at last satisfied with them all, especially when the obvious title for Act II popped into my head driving home from work last night.
I’m so, so glad that I wrote the VVE. I’m happy with how it turned out, and it accomplishes what I wanted it to. I’m still amused, though, that it’s over 5000 words. Given I originally figured it would be about the size of my pinkie fingernail, it came as a pleasant surprise.
And now, to work up the courage to send it to my test reader, and to leave this alone until next Saturday. And in the meantime, to rest.
Now, on the matter of 60 being divisible by 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6... Coincidence, correlation, or causation?
there IS actually a reason why seconds and minutes (and degrees for geometry) are in base 60 instead of base 10, and if you want to blame someone for that, blame the very specific way Babylonians counted with their fingers.
I had this idea for a looping animation in which a single dot has a pretty long loop, but the animation as a whole is much shorter. Because of the repetition this animation is only 1 second long!
hey here's a website for downloading any video or image from any website.
works w/ youtube, soundcloud, twitch, twitter (gifs and videos), tumblr (video and audio), and most other websites you're probably lookin to download stuff off of.
Note: This isn’t the announcement, either. But I’m close. I’m ridiculously close. However, when the VVE has turned out to be nearly 2700 words and counting, something’s gotta give.
Also, I’d like to start for the record, the bit I’m writing now made me cry.
And yes, I gave up on the estimates. The problem is the estimate is now lower than my actual word count, so there’s no real point.
