“Are you awake?” Stiles asks, whisper barely audible over the soft music playing in the background. Derek drags his thumb over Stiles’ shoulder in affirmation. It’s a relative sort of awake, mind heavy with fatigue from the mind blowing orgasm Stiles just gave him less than an hour ago. All of his limbs are dense, tempting him to fall asleep before Stiles says anything else.

He doesn’t though, mind too trained to listen for Stiles. Stiles’ heart rate and scent, how his breath regulates; the small movements he makes, whether they come easily or are stiff with uncertainty. Derek’s body reacts and responds naturally to Stiles’, as if Stiles is an extension of him and not a separate, autonomous being.

At the moment, Stiles’ pulse is slow and steady. He smells like Derek and clean sweat, spunk and the underlying scent that Derek will forever associate with home. He’s warm and lax, sprawled across Derek, exhaling over Derek’s collar, hand twitching on his chest. Their legs are tangled, anchoring Derek to the bed. Derek appreciates it, without it he’d be drifting.

“No,” Derek answers, after a long moment. Stiles’ answer laugh rumbles against Derek, through him, vibrating their atoms together with Stiles’ amusement. Derek smirks at the ceiling. Even after years together, he still feels proud of himself every time he makes Stiles laugh. It’s a personal accomplishment.

“Remember when we first started sleeping together?” Stiles asks, tracing his fingertips over Derek’s chest, swirling patterns through his chest hair; tugging and smoothing it down with a lazy repetition. Derek is used to being used as a baseboard for Stiles’ nervous habits: rhythms tapped out on Derek’s leg instead of Stiles’, Stiles picking at Derek’s nails instead of his own, dragging his fingers through Derek’s hair over and over and over like he can’t help himself.

“Well, I got tired of your mouth being good for nothing more than arguing,” Derek says, in a reminiscent tone. “So, I shut you up the good old fashioned way.”

“Not the sex,” Stiles says, with an irritated huff, but he’s smiling, Derek can tell by his tone of voice. “Innocent sleeping, sleeping in the same bed together.”

“Of course,” Derek says, because he does remember. It was after they started sleeping together. They just kept falling asleep together. After sex, they would pass out on Stiles’ bed or fall asleep slowly on the couch watching movies. Stiles kept insisting that he never fell asleep like that. Neither of them napped for no reason, but they did it together repeatedly.

They realized quickly that they slept better together. Without Derek, Stiles tended to have violent nightmares that resulted in Derek climbing through his window at 3AM in the morning anyway. It was better if they started and ended the night together.

“I always sleep better with you,” Stiles mumbles, voice wavering in a way that means he’s about to fall asleep. Derek chuckles and strokes his hand through Stiles’ hair, tugging and twisting, thinking of the way it swoops and swirls in the morning when he has bedhead. “No nightmares, no problem. I always want to sleep with you.”

Derek grins and presses a kiss to the top of Stiles’ head. Stiles makes a pleased noise in response and nuzzles closer, tightening his arms and legs around Derek, clinging to him.

“I always want to sleep with you, too,” Derek whispers, but Stiles is already asleep, lax and comfortable around Derek. It doesn’t matter, because Derek will tell him tomorrow when they wake up and start their day with soft kisses, gentle reminders that they’re never letting each other go.

And she’s not taking ‘no’ for an answer, even when Derek lies and tells her that he already has a mate.

Except Derek didn’t lie. When Stiles shows up to help with the emergency, he inadvertently discovers that he is Derek’s mate. Stiles tries not to think about it (he knows that the mate bond isn’t written in stone, just look at Scott and Allison) as he (and Lydia, and Deaton) research mates and the challenges to the mate bond (because, of course there’s a ritual for that) and try to keep the Alpha of the Palmer pack from discovering Stiles’ connection to Derek.

Throw in the monkey wrench of Peter showing up, and Stiles starting to have feelings, and Derek sometimes looking at him like . . . Stiles doesn’t know, but he doesn’t hate it, and things begin to get a little bit complicated.

Hi! I was wondering if you knew of a fic that had stiles as a "pack mom (provider)" in training by alivehalefamily? He would get teased about it at school and was "reluctantly" bonded to Derek. Stiles would head to the Hale house after school and help cook. He also didn't mind being labeled as such he actually enjoyed being needed. So I read this fic a while ago. It was actually the first fic I read. But I have no idea what it's called.

Basically, Stiles and Scott and them went to a snow resort, which the Hale's own. While there, they go snow boarding and stiles gets lost. Wolf Derek swoops in to save him from a bear and takes him to his house. They hook up (not sure if they just get close or if they hook up fr) and when stiles leaves he writes his number on a paper and Derek puts it in his pocket. But then he puts his pants to wash. Stiles thinks Derek doesn't care, until the Sheriff books them there again and Derek tells him what happened.

“Okay.” Stiles glanced at his phone, wincing at the battery being close to ten percent. It was probably time to call Scott. Turning off the flashlight, mostly to save battery and kind of freaking out over how dark it was—though the half-moon reflecting off the snow helped a bit—he opened his contacts with shaking hands and scrolled through to Scott’s name. Once he hit it, he put the phone to his ear, looking around, and froze.

The phone rang in his ear, but his eyes were locked on something big and moving through the trees.

Oh no. Oh no, no, no.

If that was a fucking bear, Stiles was fucked!

The line kept ringing and ringing, but Scott didn’t answer. Eventually his voicemail picked up and Stiles very slowly lowered the phone and hung up without looking, eyes still on the dark shape in the trees. He glanced down for only a second to turn on the flashlight function again, then lifted it ever so slowly upwards, and felt his breath freeze in his lungs.

It was a wolf.

It was a motherfucking wolf.

Uhm so basically stiles gets derek these flowers for some reason? I think and it makes them become like intimate with eachother, but they never remember that they have sex until at a pack meeting stiles sits on Derek's lap in front of everyone but, isn't even aware of it. So Peter and Lydia have to walk then through what's going on and make them realize what's going on. They try to stay away from eachother so they don't become like "permanent mates" or whatever but, then realize that's exactly what they want.

But her big brother’s unwillingness to touch anyone, like he thinks he doesn’t deserve it isn’t the only thing she notices. She also notices how Stiles doesn’t touch him.

Everyone reaches for Derek in some form or another, but Stiles- Stiles is something different altogether because he reaches for Derek but he never makes contact.

He’ll be trying to shimmy past Derek and instead of putting a hand on his arm like most of them do, he’ll reach out with a hand and stop it scant centimeters away from Derek’s skin.

Or they’ll be walking alongside each other and Stiles will hover a hand on Derek’s lower back.

It’s both fascinating and tragic to watch, like NASA lost control of one of their robots and instead of it landing on the moon it’s fated to gravitate around it.
