Important bio/blog update ー Regarding Lumine's name (Includes Spoilers for 4.7 Dain quest!)

;;ooc: Okay so 4.7 decided to suddenly confirm that the Traveler (whether Lumine or Aether) most likely has never disclosed their real name to the people of Teyvat. In that regard, the name you choose at the start of the game can be regarded an 'alias' - different from their real/true name which only their sibling refers them as.

To be honest, this came pretty unexpected for me. Like sure most of the people in Teyvat refer to them as just 'Traveler' but sometimes the dialogue will put the name you input and I personally play with my in-game name set to 'Lumine' so for me it kind of ruined the flow of my story. ^^;;

As for this blog, I don't think it makes sense for me to suddenly come up with an alias for Lumine and expect all of my RP partners to use it in our threads.

Which is why I have decided that within my own personal canon and the canon of this blog, Lumine IS her alias.

Now what is her true name, you might be wondering? I think it makes most sense for it to be Ying, her canon Chinese name. This is the original version so you could make an argument that Ying (and Kong for Aether) are the siblings' 'real' names.

Dainslumi has really grown on me a lot lately hehehehe. I prefer the version with traveler!Lumine though. I'd ramble about it more but I want to avoid too many spoilers on this blog for now.

The Traveler going by a new alias in Teyvat and being so secretive about their 'real' name also works well for my two favorite Lumi ships (xiaolumi & scaralumi) because Xiao and Wanderer go by new names too!!

Wanderer technically does not have a name assigned to him by birth since he has gone by different nicknames/aliases his whole life. Meanwhile Xiao does have an old name (Alatus) but he no longer uses it. ;w;
