I've been wanting to incorporate some famous images from art history, and I finally figured out a way to incorporate a few Impressionist paintings: Monet's "Haystacks" are shaped just like Pac-Man ghosts

And that's how with just a bit of color editing and Save As Gif, you can turn the playback head from a Soviet tape player into a minor video game enemy robot that crosses the screen at a roughly 45° angle

You make spaghetti code and it makes things in the game work in ways you didn’t want them to. That’s why they call it creepypasta
(No idea if that’s true but I’ve been working with this stuff for a bit now and man. These numbers and letters and punctuations get up to some shenanigans)
the fact that any video game ever gets made is a fucking miracle, let alone good ones.

I hadn't been planning on having a parody of the Mortal Kombat "Toasty!" guy but I found this guy on a Jazz Age movie poster and I might have to work it in somehow

Niche complaint, I know, but nothing more frustrating to the digital collage-maker that spent a long time cutting out a piece and then accidentally exported as JPEG instead of PNG while the background was set to the same black as the image outline, meaning the whole thing has to be done manually a second time

Going back to some early concept art I'm working on including a segment where the player is caught between two big invulnerable bosses playing Pong Non-Specific Ball-Bouncing Paddle Game with a big spike ball or something, which has been a great use for some of the oddly-shaped art I've found. With this Medusa she's normally open-eyed, but when the ball hits her she flinches

a thing to understand is that indie games can push the envelope not in spite of being indie but because of it. once your company gets big enough you simply cannot make a game like Baba Is You
