The funniest thing about the Loid and Anya dynamic is that Loid's self-assessment of any trouble they have—that he doesn't understand children—is correct! The vast majority of his study and understanding of human behavior is directed towards adult psychology. He does not, in fact, have a great grasp of what kids want or why.

However his inability to understand Anya has little to nothing to do with the gaps in his knowledge around children and everything to do with the fact that his daughter is secretly a telepath

miraculous ladybug is a hotbed of whiplash between extremely hard-hitting show-don't-tell writing and expositing-the-point-directly-into-the-camera writing. like the show is constructed so the basic plot can be understood by 6 year olds but then you'll randomly have a scene during a timeskip that shows adrien's room in a depression-induced mess after he quits modelling and it will never be addressed as such but it will neatly convey the disruption to his mental state that a lack of routine causes him. and u just have to deal with both of those things side by side constantly😭

I think fandom fundamentally lost something when fan content stopped being treated like a free creation from another fan and more like a YouTube video dropped from your favorite influencer.

it’s become content and consumers, not a community of people and it’s fundamentally breaking the ecosystem.
