Harry looked into the Basin of True Love one day at the Department of Mysteries and to his surprise Ginny’s face appeared. They never dated and he never had feelings for her, or at least he thought so. He decided that talking to her would be the best course of action so they could figure out what this all meant. While doing research, they came across a blood oath that would confirm if they were really each other’s true love. To their surprise, the blood oath worked and they were stuck together with their hands until it was completed. The fact that this is also a wedding oath? Not important when you’re trying to find answers, right?

Chapter 4/7: Devotion (Full chapter on AO3)

They woke up on Thursday, hands still joined together. They did the same routine they have been keeping up for days. Get out of bed, have breakfast, get dressed and then find something to do.

Ginny moved her chess piece. Harry wondered if she had gotten distracted or bored; this was not a good move and as a Weasley he knew she had no trouble playing chess.

He moved his piece. “Checkmate.”

Ginny leaned her head on her arm as she looked at the board, frowning slightly.

“Hey,” he asked softly. “Are you okay?”

She looked up at him, looking like a cat with their paws folded in. “It’s just…” She shrugged. “I don’t know what to make out of all of this.”
