The messenger probes are an unknown piece of technology special to Neo Los Alamos. The half-cut ball shaped floating devices whizz around the laboratories in search of the person they have a message to. Disguised as a communication device, these machines double as a surveillance tool; communicating with each other and tracking steps accordingly, the probes are able to find the recipient in practically no time due to their massive network system.

The probes are usually sent out when an important message is meant to be end-to-end encrypted. Though still monitored, the devices cannot be hacked, manipulated, or tuned into by a third party as the message is directly relayed from the brain of the sender to the brain of the recipient. Their creators are unknown.

"The year is 1987, Aykut "Lucky" Newman secures a job as a waiter at his family owned retro futuristic 1950's themed diner as a means to reintegrate back into his local community after his father and twin sister disappear, leaving him traumatized as a teenager. The locals refer to the aforementioned phenomenon as 'The Rapture,' where many of their acquaintances, including the robots built by Lucky's father and uncle, disappeared without a word or sound. A lone robot in the shape of an owl who slept through the Raptute awakens with Lucky's return. The Universe Owl has a message to deliver, and the answers all reside in a family computer the size of a microwave buried deep in his father's basement.

The year is 1957, Johnny Newman finds himself working for the AEC as a computer engineer under secret military tunnels of New Mexico. But the coffee doesn't taste the same no more, paper folds weirdly and birds shout instead of sing. Armageddon feels just around the corner, and he might have a bigger part to play in it than he realizes.
