Author Name: Yatta Rose
How long have you been writing? I’ve been writing since I was around eight years old. After going viral for the short story challenges, I started writing professionally at nineteen years old.
Did you ever imagine that you would be published one day? No, I never imagined being a published author because that wasn’t my dream originally. I knew it was something I wanted to do when I wrote my first stage play. I never thought in a million years this would be the career for me.
What made you want to become an author? I became an author because I knew I wanted to help people. My primary career is Social Work, which I’m still in school for. But when I started writing for fun on social media, I realized how much I impacted people. Folks would message me and tell me how they enjoyed my art and how it helped them through certain situations they were facing in life. In those moments, my heart sparked to take this journey and make it real.
How long have you been published? I’ve been published for about seven years now. The experience has been one heck of a journey.
How does it feel to be published? When it comes to being published, it feels incredible. I meet many new people daily who read my work or are authors themselves. Publishing my first book had me shaking in my boots, but after seeing the reviews, support, and even the ugly, I knew I wanted to take this on as a full-time career.
Are you self-published, or did you go through a publishing company? Why? I WAS NOT PUBLISHED when I first began my journey as a writer. Once I began to gain exposure for participating in the Short Story Challenge on social media, I became more seen and acknowledged by big-name publishers in the game. One of my pen sisters, Diamond Stanford, introduced me to a smaller company that was popping up. I spoke with the publishers, and they put me on board. I was around nineteen or twenty when I signed with the publishing house.
After some time with them, they had me branch off under them with a sub publishing company. I was given my own company, which goes by Yatta Rose Presents. Later, I decided to branch off as an independent company and go on my own journey. From there, I began to become an independent author with my company.
I chose to get a publisher the first time around because I needed mentorship. A lot was happening at that time in the industry, and I needed someone to help shape and mold me into the author I knew I could be. I needed help with book covers and editing. So, I took that route and learned everything I needed about writing, publishing, and how the industry works.
When I decided to go independent, it was because I wanted to finally soar, and other things that transpired. It was a scary choice, but I made it with faith in myself and God. If I could do it published, hitting #1 on the Charts in three categories, both books soared, and I had never seen anything under $200 at that time, I knew I could do it independently because my fanbase was already there, but it got bigger. There were mentors all around me who had decided to take this young girl from Chicago and help her be a beast in this writing game. They would be there if I failed to help pick me back up. So, I went solo and built myself all over again from the ground up, but on my own, using the knowledge I obtained from former publishers and writer friends.
How many books have you written? If we include collabs, ghostwrites, and mine, I’ve written roughly ten books.
What is/are the name of your book(s)?
The Real Mistress of Atlanta
Devlin In the Pulpit 1
Devlin In the Pulpit 2
Whew, Chile, the Ghetto
It Won’t Happen Again
The First Ladies Club
Phaedra Denise
Married to a Chicago Hitta
What genre is it/are they in?
Urban Fiction
Urban Romance
Urban Christian Fiction
What do you feel will inspire others never to forget when they read your story(ies)? I like to write books that are super relatable to everyday life. I want everyone to feel like they are a part of the story. People remember that because it reminds them of a situation they have heard of, been through, or know of. I like to bring twisted endings in these books that can end good or bad. People remember these stories because they always inbox me, telling me how they can relate or how my stories have helped them through things.
What's the hardest part about writing a book? The hardest part about writing is when you have so many stories brewing and don’t know where to start. I often write, and another character from another book talks heavily and wants story time. I have difficulty staying on one book when all my characters want to have their time.
What's the easiest part about writing a book? The easiest part about writing a book is the storyline. When it comes to creating a storyline, it’s super easy for me. I can look at a picture and be inspired from there. It’s so weird, but I have many stories waiting to be completed right now because I have an easy time generating storylines.
What do you enjoy most about being an author? I get to meet new people from around the world from many different backgrounds. To see people from other countries reading my work is so cool. I enjoy making people laugh and engaging them with what I discuss between pages. I always loved entertaining people in the most creative ways.
What do you enjoy least about being an author? I don’t necessarily have anything I least enjoy. I will say I dislike that some reviews are not based on the fact a person read a book, but on personal issues. Also, when we gift books to our readers, they don’t collect the book. Or when they read the book and don’t review it. It sucks sometimes because those reviews genuinely matter to us. READERS YOUR REVIEWS MATTER!
What is your favorite genre to read? Is it different than the one that you write in? I love to read Urban fiction and thrillers because they’re everything. Urban Fiction has been my favorite genre for a long time. I love drama books because they’re loaded with things that keep you hooked. I write books in the Urban Fiction genre and add drama to the mix. I’m working on writing thrillers and suspense stories. I’ve read enough to know how to master it… I think.
Where can interested readers purchase their copy of your book(s)? Readers can purchase my books on my website.
Do you have any future projects in the works? Is there a tentative release date? I released my book, “The First Ladies Club,” in August. I’m working on a series that will be released by December. Also, my authors are dropping by the end of the year. So, stay tuned by subscribing to my website.
Do you have any social media sites that you would like to share with my readers? Yes, readers follow me on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter. Also, you can follow me on TikTok. Again, you can subscribe to my mailing list to stay updated about everything coming from Yatta Rose Presents.

Carol Cassada
Tumblr media
Carol Cassada is an author from the small town of Ringgold, VA. She’s the middle child with two brothers who love to tease her. When she wasn’t playing with her stuffed animals and dolls, Carol enjoyed reading books.
After taking a creative writing class in high school, she knew that writing was her calling. Initially, Carol contemplated a career in journalism, but after college, she began writing her first book and decided to become an author.
Her writing journey has spanned over a decade and includes the publication of several books and short stories. Aside from books, Carol works as a freelance writer and has worked for numerous entertainment news websites.
When she’s not busy writing, Carol loves playing with her pups, Chase and Baby, and her cat, Cotton.
Author Name: Carol Cassada
How long have you been writing? I’ve been writing professionally for about 14 years now. I started writing my first book in 2009 after graduating from college. But my love of writing began back in high school after I took a creative writing class.
Did you ever imagine that you would be published one day? To be honest, no. I was one of those people who didn’t know what career I wanted. Then I discovered writing was my passion and decided to pursue that. There were many rejections and challenges, but here I am with several books under my belt.
What made you want to become an author? I read a romance book called Keeping Faith by Janice MacDonald. It was my first time reading the genre and I fell in love with it. It also gave me the motivation to start writing books and that’s when I came up with the idea for Going Home Again.
How long have you been published? About 13 years
How does it feel to be published? It’s an amazing feeling seeing your stories out there for the world to read.
Are you self-published or did you go through a publishing company? Why? When I first started, I published through a small eBook publishing. Then, when I kept getting rejections for my second book, I decided to go with self-publishing. Since then, I’ve self-published all my books because I love the freedom it offers. I can write my book at my own pace and how I want it.
How many books have you written? 9 books, 4 short stories, and participated in several anthologies.
What is/are the name of your book(s)?
Going Home Again
Westmore (volumes 1-8)
You’ll Find True Love
Crowns, Coffee, and Cakes
Season of Love
Where’s Your Christmas Spirit
What genre is it/are they in? Most of my books and short stories are in the romance genre. The Westmore series is what I call a romance novel meets soap opera.
Where’s Your Christmas Spirit is a holiday short story.
What do you feel will inspire others to never forget when they read your story(ies)? As a writer, I hope that readers connect with my characters. To me that’s one of the things that makes a good story. I try to create characters with unique personalities that readers love and can relate to.
What's the hardest part about writing a book? My biggest challenge is trying to stay focused while writing. I’m a procrastinator and get easily distracted, so it’s sometimes hard to sit down and concentrate on the story.
What's the easiest part about writing a book? Coming up with ideas for the story.
What do you enjoy most about being an author? Coming up with ideas then writing the stories.
What do you enjoy least about being an author? The promotion side can be tough. Although marketing is an important aspect of writing, it’s hard getting your name out there and getting people interested in your books.
What is your favorite genre to read? Is it different than the one that you write in? I love to read romance books as much as I enjoy writing them. I’ll read any sub-genre of romance, everything from contemporary to erotica.
Where can interested readers purchase their copy of your book(s)? My books are available in digital and paperback at most major retailers including Amazon, B&N, Kobo, and Smashwords.
Do you have any future projects in the works? Is there a tentative release date? I’ve got quite a few. I’m currently working on volume 9 of the Westmore series, which I’m hoping to have released by early 2024.
I’m also working on several short stories for anthologies that will be released later this year.
Do you have any social media sites that you would like to share with my readers? I can be found on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and my blog.

Ella Quent
Tumblr media
Ella Quent is a Poet/Author from Jacksonville, Florida. Her love for writing was birthed from a love for reading. As a shy, quiet teenager, Ella used poetry as her means of expression. The author of several romantic and poetic short stories, Ella published her first full length novel, The Evolution of Her, a poetry collection dedicated to women of color. Currently attending school to study Creative Writing, Ella hopes to continue writing poetry and stories to encourage and inspire others.
Author Name: Ella Quent
How long have you been writing? I have been writing since I was a a young girl.
Did you ever imagine that you would be published one day? Becoming a published author has always been a dream of mine.
What made you want to become an author? When I was about 8, my school took us on a trip to the library, I got my first library and fell completely in love with reading. It was from there that I started wanting to write books of my own.
How long have you been published? I recently published my first book just this past month.
How does it feel to be published? It feels amazing!!! It's almost surreal seeing my book on such a public platform for others to enjoy.
Are you self-published or did you go through a publishing company? Why? I am self-published as of now, but I am working on something I'd like to submit to a traditional publishing company.
How many books have you written? This is my first actual book, though I have several short stories available on Amazon Kindle Vella.
What is/are the name of your book(s)? My book is titled The Evolution of Her.
What genre is it/are they in? It is a book of Inspirational Poetry geared towards women of color.
What do you feel will inspire others to never forget when they read your story(ies)? I try to come from a place of love and positivity. I know how it is to hurt or struggle but I always love to remind myself, and others, that we will get through.
What's the hardest part about writing a book? I think the hardest thing about writing a book is letting go of the fear to release it, once you release a book, it really no longer belongs to you but to the culture.
What's the easiest part about writing a book? The easiest thing about writing a book is being able to use my voice. As a teenager I was so quiet and shy, that writing became my way of Expression.
What do you enjoy most about being an author? It literally feels like my dreams are coming true.
What do you enjoy least about being an author? Hoping that someone reads my book! Lol, I'm always hoping someone will give my book a chance.
What is your favorite genre to read? Is it different than the one that you write in? I love poetry. I love romance. Those are my favorite topics to write, so I'm pretty much in my lane.
Where can interested readers purchase their copy of your book(s)? My book and collection of stories are available on Amazon Kindle.

Connie Wilson
Tumblr media
My name is Connie Wilson. I am 45 and live in Michigan with 2 roommates, an 11-year-old Shih Tzu, Chloe, an 18-month-old Yorkie puppy, Cora, and a 7-year-old Tortoise Shell cat, Karma. The animals will be in children’s books as soon as I can find an illustrator.
Despite the cold winters, Michigan is a beautiful state to live in during the Fall. I live in Flint, the home of the infamous water crisis. I am blessed that I live in the Township and am blessed to not be affected by lead water. My city is still dealing with the effects of it, but we are strong and resilient people.
I have taken a 7 year hiatus from writing due to severe depression and near blindness. I had cataract surgery and finally got the depression under control. Along with the depression came a heaping scoop of imposter syndrome. I am conquering that by getting my Bachelor’s in Creative Writing at Colorado Christian University.
For the longest time, I refused to call myself a YA author – but I have resigned myself to the fact that I think in YA/NA terms. I write mostly interracial romance (BM/WW), but have a few books that just have white characters and one that has only black characters. These days, I write what the voices in my head tell me to.
I am happy to be back writing and have several things in the works.
Author Name: Connie Wilson
How long have you been writing? I declared that I was going to be an author at ten, after reading a Beverly Cleary book and finding a grammar error. I have been writing stories since Kindergarten, but got serious about wanting to get published at 19.
Did you ever imagine that you would be published one day? No. I desperately wanted to get published, but didn’t think it would actually happen.
What made you want to become an author? I am going to get flack for this, but the old Sweet Valley High series pushed me to be a writer. My friends and I wanted to write a huge series with several different characters to catch the reader’s attention.
There were 4 of us that started out at 19. We are the self-proclaimed grandmothers of Fan Fiction – we were writing Fan Fiction in notebooks before it had a name; we used wrestlers and musicians.
I have a series called “Northern Lights” that will be back out after a rewrite (the last one, I swear) that was deemed the Urban Sweet Valley High by someone who didn’t know that’s what I was aiming for.
How long have you been published? 9 years.
How does it feel to be published? I’m still pinching myself. As I said in my bio, I have imposter syndrome and because I’m rebuilding, I don’t mention it much. Me being a published author is the first thing my friends tell people when they introduce me. I still have yet to acknowledge being published as the big deal it is.
Are you self-published or did you go through a publishing company? Why? I started off with a company that I will not name, but I was used and my royalties were stolen. The next company did the same, then a friend stepped up and tried to publish me, but she didn’t have the money, so I started publishing my books under my own company, Passion for Life Publishing (P4L).
How many books have you written? I have three out on Amazon. I did the math the other day and I have 16 total – meaning 13 that need to be put out. I’m currently working on two more for school.
What is/are the name of your book(s)? The ones on Amazon are:
My Walk Through Hell: A Grieving Mother’s Tale of Miscarriage
GlowStick
The Wrong Side of the Mississippi
What genre is it/are they in?
My Walk Through Hell is a memoir about my miscarriage 7 years ago
GlowStick is YA
The Wrong Side of the Mississippi is Adult Contemporary Interracial Romance
What do you feel will inspire others to never forget when they read your story(ies)? My books have a lot of me in them. What I mean is GlowStick is based on real-life events. I have a few others coming out that are as well. They have messages and meanings behind them rather than being stories.
What's the hardest part about writing a book? Editing. I am in a copyediting class right now. I was asked what my favorite part of editing was. My answer? None of it. I HATE it. To quote The Grinch, “Hate, hate, hate… LOATHE entirely.”
What's the easiest part about writing a book? Coming up with the ideas. They flow pretty easily and steadily when I’m in the planning stages.
What do you enjoy most about being an author? To have my baby polished and in my hand. That’s when it hits that I did it.
What do you enjoy least about being an author? Hitting publish on Amazon. I get highly anxious about putting my book out to the world to possibly get rejected.
What is your favorite genre to read? Is it different than the one that you write in? I read a lot of YA and am currently getting into self-help/nonfiction. I write in both. I am currently getting into Fantasy.
Where can interested readers purchase their copy of your book(s)? The Wrong Side of the Mississippi, My Walk Through Hell, GlowStick
Do you have any future projects in the works? Is there a tentative release date? There are. Doing a relaunch of Passion for Life Publishing in June of next year and putting out GlowStick, Learning the Hard Way, Road Trip, My Walk Through Hell, and Lessons from a Narcissist all at one time.
Do you have any social media sites that you would like to share with my readers? Twitter, Website/blog, Instagram, Facebook

Author Name: One Single Rose®
How long have you been writing? I’ve been writing officially since the second grade many moons ago when I won my very first poetry contest.
Did you ever imagine that you would be published one day? I had no idea that I would pen anything, but have been following the word as it leads ever since I relinquished my life to the word.
What made you want to become an author? I didn’t know I’d become an author.  Heartache brought me to pen poetry as an adult.  Before I knew it, I had a full collection.
How long have you been published? I’ve been published since 2009.
How does it feel to be published? It’s a huge accomplishment to have anything published.  I feel very excited for my path and honored that the word chose me as a vessel for delivery.
Are you self-published or did you go through a publishing company? Why? I self-published my first two collections and appear in quite a few collections.  As a result of winning a poetry slam, I am the first poet published under the Broadside/Lotus Press merger; two of the first African-American presses in the United States.  I chose to self-publish my work for profits sakes.  A 60/40 split for my intellectual property and hard work just don’t work for me.
How many books have you written? I have penned two full poetry collections, one erotic chapbook and one chapbook featuring poems about my great city of Detroit.
What is/are the name of your book(s)?
One Single Rose…Poetry Blossomed from a Rose Core
One Single Rose Out of Darkness Into Light
Pearl’s Plays
Miss Detroit®
What genre is it/are they in?
Lyrical Poetry
Spoken Word
Erotic Poetry
Inspirational Poetry
What do you feel will inspire others to never forget when they read your story(ies)? Stay true to yourself.  Remember that can’t = won’t.  You can do whatever you set your mind to.
What's the hardest part about writing a book? Getting started…
What's the easiest part about writing a book? Creating a storyline.
What do you enjoy most about being an author? It’s fulfilling to see my ideas on the page.  The words become real when they’re staring you right in the face.
What do you enjoy least about being an author? I can’t say that I don’t enjoy anything about being an author.
What is your favorite genre to read? Is it different than the one that you write in? I enjoy reading horror stories.  It’s different watching a horror story than reading one, using my imagination to show me what the author intended in lieu of seeing images on screen then having nightmares.
Where can interested readers purchase their copy of your book(s)? My work can be purchased on my website.
Do you have any future projects in the works? Is there a tentative release date? I am currently compiling a new collection from a special activity that I do at events on an old-school typewriter.  I don’t want to give the idea away just yet, but it is in the works.  I hope to release the book on my birthday (3-13-2024).
Do you have any social media sites that you would like to share with my readers? My website, Instagram, Facebook, and Spotify.

She published her first book, “He Gives Me a Feeling Like No Other”, on April 27th, 2020. Besides writing, B. Knox works in healthcare as a Certified Medical Assistant and enjoys being a mother to her two young men, who are her whole heart in human form. Author Name: B. Knox
How long have you been writing? Five years
Did you ever imagine that you would be published one day? No
What made you want to become an author? I’m an avid reader before anything and my love for reading is what made me want to write.

How does it feel to be published? To see my books with my name on them on Amazon is surreal.
Are you self-published or did you go through a publishing company? Why? I started out self- published then signed to a publisher. I procrastinated a lot when I wasn’t signed and with a publisher, they give you that extra push to stay consistent and you have a team of pen sisters to work with when you’re struggling. Since I’ve been signed, I have met some great authors that I consider family instead of pen sisters.
How many books have you written? Eight
What is/are the name of your book(s)?
He Gives Me a Feeling Like No Other 1-3
Twelve Dates of Christmas
Crushin On A Boss For Christmas

What genre is it/are they in? Urban Romance
What do you feel will inspire others to never forget when they read your story(ies)? That true black love does exist.
What's the hardest part about writing a book? Writing the 1st chapter is always challenging. You have to make sure that chapter captures the reader from that point on.
What's the easiest part about writing a book? The ending, lol! By this time, you have developed a bond with your fictional characters and invested in their outcome.
What do you enjoy most about being an author? When readers jump in my inbox to tell me how great the story was and how that can relate to some of the characters in my books.
What do you enjoy least about being an author? When I finish a story and have to come up with  new storylines and new characters.
What is your favorite genre to read? Is it different than the one that you write in? I really don’t have a favorite genre; I just love to read no matter what genre it’s from.
Where can interested readers purchase their copy of your book(s)? They can purchase eBooks on Amazon and signed copies through my website.

Author Name: C.C. Miller/Charm White
How long have you been writing? My entire life! However, I started writing professionally at the age of 16 when I was hired as a part-time columnist. I also wrote my first novel in 2018.
Did you ever imagine that you would be published one day? Yes. I have always dreamed of becoming a published writer and knew one day it would happen.
What made you want to become an author? I love writing. I have been writing since I was a child. I started out with poetry, elevated to journaling and stories in my teen years, and today I am a full-blown writer.
How long have you been published? Since 2018.
How does it feel to be published? I feel very accomplished and grateful.
Are you self-published or did you go through a publishing company? Why? I am both self-published and this year, my book ‘Will You Take It or Leave It?’ was published by J. Mark Publishing, which I am very excited about. I chose to self-publish because it seemed to be an easier process at the time. However, you do have to do everything yourself, including marketing, which can be a challenge, so I decided to try the publishing company route.
How many books have you written? About 13 books and counting.
What is/are the name of your book(s)? I have three series. The Love Heartbreak Series, Funnel Series, and the Insatiable Series. I also wrote Shedding: A Nagalian Love Story, My Chinese Rose, and Prince Selas and the Leopon.
What genre is it/are they in? I mainly write romance, but “Shedding” is a sci-fi fantasy genre and “Prince Selas and the Leopon” is a children’s fantasy novel.
What do you feel will inspire others to never forget when they read your story(ies)? I write very angsty, edgy romance narratives which are sometimes dark but overall, my unique writing style.
What's the hardest part about writing a book? Finishing it. I can’t tell you how many unfinished books I have sitting on my computer at this moment.
What's the easiest part about writing a book? Starting it. Once that seed has been planted, your fingers start to produce words.
Where can interested readers purchase their copy of your book(s)? Readers can purchase a copy of my book on Amazon, and most major bookstores online, including Barnes and Noble, Walmart, and Book-A-Million. You may also visit the J. Mark Publishing website.
Do you have any future projects in the works? I am currently working on “Shedding: The Rise of an Heir”, “Meet Me Soon”, “My Chinese Dragon”, and “King Selas and the Wild Zorse”.
Is there a tentative release date? Not at this time.
Do you have any social media sites that you would like to share with my readers? Yes. You may find me on Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and Facebook.

Melissa Menny
Tumblr media
Melissa Menny is an author with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism. The Houston native is a poet and a writer in all aspects. She blogs, freelances, and has an ongoing column focusing on parenting during the pandemic. When she is not working, she enjoys painting, music, and spending time with her husband and two sons.
Author Name: Melissa Menny
How long have you been writing? I have been writing poetry since 4th grade. I placed 3rd in my first “competition” in the 5th grade.
Did you ever imagine that you would be published one day? Not really. I imagined I would see my byline, which was the initial dream. I wanted to just stick to journalism, but it was during my undergraduate studies that I realized I wanted to publish a book.
What made you want to become an author? I realized that I was becoming comfortable enough sharing my poetry publicly. It is a significant form of storytelling and if someone enjoys it or relates to it, that’s cool.
How long have you been published? I’ve been published almost four years now.
How does it feel to be published? It was exciting initially, but it is kind of nerve wracking nowadays. Especially, as an indie author. It’s my baby, but as time goes on you realize where it could have been better.
Are you self-published or did you go through a publishing company? Why? I chose to self-publish. I didn’t want to shop it around or wait for someone to decide it was good enough. However, I am not against traditional publishing. It is still a route that I might pursue in the future.
How many books have you written? I have written two. The second one is pending as far as when I’m going to publish it.
What is/are the name of your book(s)? “Mask Shavings” is the name of the first one.
What genre is it/are they in? They are both poetry.
What do you feel will inspire others to never forget when they read your story(ies)? I think there is always something relatable in my work. It’s personal or they have seen it happen before. I believe something always stands out.
What's the hardest part about writing a book? Because I write poetry, the hardest part is deciding what I want to share. It’s assembling an assortment of short stories and making sure they not only flow, but it’s saying something meaningful.
What's the easiest part about writing a book? For me, just letting it all pour out of me. Whatever I’m feeling. Whatever ideas I have and then putting it all together.
Where can interested readers purchase their copy of your book(s)? Just Amazon for now.
Do you have any future projects in the works? Is there a tentative release date? I do have one that’s done that I’m positive I’m going to release next year. I have no specific date yet.
Do you have any social media sites that you would like to share with my readers? Just my Twitter handle.

Jalissa Carter
Tumblr media
Jalissa Carter is a poet, writer, and author of the new novella, “Lipsody.” When she isn’t writing she spends her late nights relaxing with a glass of wine.
Author Name: Jalissa Carter
How long have you been writing? I have been writing since I was about 8 or 9. I remember writing comic strips as a kid. But, it was when I was in middle school that I started writing urban romance in my notebooks during class.
Did you ever imagine that you would be published one day? I have always imagined seeing my writings published. I just wasn’t sure how or when that would become a reality. I thought at first that I would be a journalist with published articles in a newspaper.
What made you want to become an author? Well, I was raised by a bibliophile who passed her love of books to me. I have always loved to read and then writing my own books felt like the natural choice. I knew that I wanted to become an author because writing was something I always enjoyed doing. I wrote in diaries, I wrote letters, and I wrote to pass the time.
How long have you been published? I wrote and self-published my first book in 2017.
How does it feel to be published? It feels like a dream. Whenever I feel stuck in life, I always remind myself of how I’ve written books that are appreciated by friends, family, and even strangers. It’s always a great reminder to self.
Are you self-published or did you go through a publishing company? Why? I am self-published. I used Amazon KDP, and I chose to self-published because I wanted full creative control, and the flexibility of writing at my own pace.
How many books have you written? I have written a total of four books. And I have a wine journal to be released in 2023.
What is/are the name of your book(s)?
Testimonials,Tales, & Females
Poetic-Li
Comical Love: The Hilarious Truth About How We Met, Engaged, & Married.
Lipsody
What genre is it/are they in? My books are all in the romance genre with an inspirational sub-genre.
What do you feel will inspire others to never forget when they read your story(ies)? My stories all have positive messages that are real and relatable. And a lot of times, my readers are able to take from my stories the importance of caring for your mental health, having faith, and overcoming obstacles in relationships/love life.
What's the hardest part about writing a book? The hardest part would be finishing the book. I have a huge desire to write a 200 page novel.  But, so far, I’ve only written novellas and short reads.
What's the easiest part about writing a book? The easiest part for me is coming up with titles and storylines.
Where can interested readers purchase their copy of your book(s)? My books can be purchased on Amazon or by visiting my website.
Do you have any future projects in the works? Is there a tentative release date? My newest project is a wine journal that I hope to have released in February 2023.

Khatari
Tumblr media
Khatari was born and raised in northern California.
He is a promising up-and-coming author whose work allows his readers an authentic glimpse into street life and the people who live that life. His books transcend the stereotypes as he uses his own life experiences, as well as the experiences of others, to write his stories and characters; sometimes offering readers a glimpse into how multi-faceted these often-misunderstood individuals truly are.
He currently writes fiction, but plans to cross over to other genres.
Khatari experienced a challenging childhood. Riddled with abuse and neglect, and witnessing violence first-hand, his early years were dark and pained. Due to the dysfunction that surrounded him, he was often uprooted and moved from place to place. After various placements with relatives, he found himself in foster care. He eventually turned to the streets, which consequently led to a lot of bad choices. In turn, those bad choices led to youth authority, jail, and prison.
There is more to Khatari than the street-life, though. He’s always had a love for writing. In school, he excelled in creative writing; he would always live out his stories as he was writing them. Through his most difficult times, he has used writing as a way to escape his surroundings. In addition to writing books, he creates poetry and songs, and does artwork. He loves spending time with family, fishing, and sports. He also has a commitment to mentoring children, adolescents, and young adults to help them avoid making the same mistakes he did and find value in themselves.
He is happy to finally be able to share his writing with others, putting his passion to work!
Author Name: Khatari
How long have you been writing? I have been writing / creating stories since my childhood.
Did you ever imagine that you would be published one day? No, I never expected to be a published author. This was a dream come true.
What made you want to become an author? I became an author because of my love for writing. Writing got me through some difficult times in my childhood, it was a way to escape.
How long have you been published? I published my first book under Khatari August 23, 2020.
How does it feel to be published? It’s amazing, I feel a sense of accomplishment.
Are you self-published or did you go through a publishing company? Why? I am self-published for my Khatari books. I chose to self-publish to make my own decisions and have complete control over my books. I would like to add that having a publisher can be very helpful especially if you don’t have the experience or funding. Publishers usually provide the editing, design, proofreading, etc.
How many books have you written? I have written five published books.
What is/are the name of your book(s)?
Dirt Bag: Sole Survivor
Dirt Bag II: A Predator is Born
If It’s Meant To Be: Love Shouldn’t Hurt
BBO
BBO Club II
What genre is it/are they in? Urban Fiction
What do you feel will inspire others to never forget when they read your story(ies)? From what I have heard from some of my readers as to why they remember my stories, is when they feel connected to a character and/or the story I have written.
What's the hardest part about writing a book? Starting to write is usually the most challenging for me. I have so many thoughts in my head, putting pencil to paper is not always easy.
What's the easiest part about writing a book? Usually, for me the easiest part is discussing the book. Coming up with a story in my head, names of characters and the titles for my books come easy usually.
Where can interested readers purchase their copy of your book(s)? Amazon
Do you have any future projects in the works? My first paranormal: Immortal Lovers – A God’s Undying Love.
Is there a tentative release date? Release date for my upcoming book will be the last week of November or early December.

How long have you been writing? I have been writing since 2007. I can finally say that’s a long time.
Did you ever imagine that you would be published one day? No, not at all. In my middle school days, I couldn’t even write a decent paragraph. I knew writing was deep inside of me, but I didn’t want to take the challenge. Thank God, I did.
What made you want to become an author? At the time, I was focused on acting, but my mom got sick and I had to take care of her while my dad went to work. I started to see Zane write Erotica and I told myself I should write about sex because I love it. It was one of my greatest accomplishments.
How long have you been published?  Since 2014.
How does it feel to be published? It feels amazing. When you see someone leave a review or tell you that they purchased your book is an amazing feeling.
Are you self-published or did you go through a publishing company? Why? I went through a company first to get experience in the business. If you don’t have the funds, it can help you in the long run until you get established.
How many books have you written? I have written 10+ books.
What is/are the name of your book(s)?
"Never Settle Never Again"
"The Side Chick Who Turned Into A Wife"

“Detective Dan and The Missing Toy Boat"
"He Cheats Too"
"Dating Jordan"
What genre is it/are they in? I wanted to touch ever genre possible. Drama, Erotica, Romance, Christian, Children and more.
What do you feel will inspire others to never forget when they read your story(ies)? To understand the message in each book. For example, the book might be Erotica, but it will have a message in it. Each genre will have a message.
What's the hardest part about writing a book?  The hardest part is getting to the finish line. You might have your idea of your book from top to bottom, but I can guarantee you that you might change something before you get to the ending.
What's the easiest part about writing a book?  Lol, probably the title. Once you get the title, then you can find out where you are trying to head on writing your book.

Kellie N. Hill
Tumblr media
Kellie N. Hill is a fiction writer from Toledo, Ohio, wife to her high school sweetheart and co-storyteller, Gerald, mother of two wonderfully smart and creative girls, animal mom to 1 dog, 2 ferrets, and an Axolotl, geek, and crafter. She’s currently writing a modern-day Fantasy book series, a near-future Sci-Fi heist series, a Sci-Fi webcomic on WEBTOON Canvas, a fantasy audio drama, and has a fanfic posted on Wattpad. She also plays video games, and occasionally cosplays.
Author Name: Kellie N. Hill
How long have you been writing? Since my teens, over 20 years ago, but I started taking it seriously the last 10-15 years.
Did you ever imagine that you would be published one day? Yes. I imagined it all the time. I just knew one day that’d be me.
What made you want to become an author? I loved hearing stories from my grandfather and uncle, who jumpstarted my love of reading, and I wanted to be able to tell really cool stories too. Plus, I’ve always had a grand imagination and had to get the ideas I had down on paper. Being a storyteller is just in my blood.
How long have you been published? 4 years
How does it feel to be published? It still feels surreal. Like, there are people out there that aren’t just supportive family and friends reading my words and ideas, and they enjoyed and loved them!
Are you self-published or did you go through a publishing company? Why? My first book is self-published because I wanted to prove to myself I could do it. It was an idea I had for so long that I was afraid to actually get done and get released. Going after traditional publishing felt so daunting and impossible to do, so self-pub was my only answer at the time.
How many books have you written? I have 1 published book, which is the first in a planned series.
What is/are the name of your book(s)? A Werewolf’s Touch, Book 1 of Hunter M.D. Files
What genre is it/are they in? Modern Fantasy/Medical Drama/Mystery
What do you feel will inspire others to never forget when they read your story(ies)? That sometimes family isn’t what you’re born into, but the people you surround yourself with on purpose.
What's the hardest part about writing a book? Making sure your ideas actually make sense to everyone else. In your head, you know all the details and future plotlines, but it has to be spoon fed in small bits and not have any empty plot holes you forgot about. And remembering small details of what you said in chapter 3 when you wrote chapter 20, such as the eye color of a side character.
What's the easiest part about writing a book? Physically writing it, haha!
Where can interested readers purchase their copy of your book(s)? On Amazon.
Do you have any future projects in the works? Is there a tentative release date? I’m currently writing the first book of a second, Sci-Fi heist series, and planning the second book of the modern fantasy series.
Do you have any social media sites that you would like to share with my readers? All my links in one place on LinkTree.

Terry Lister
Tumblr media
The Honourable Terry Lister is a traveller and a writer. Prior to that, he was a partner in the Deloitte accounting firm, a Minister in the Government of Bermuda, and a realtor. He retired at 60 and has been a solo traveller for the past seven years, and now has been to 98 countries including; 22 in Africa. Since retiring, when he’s not travelling, Lister spends time with his family, relaxes with a good book, or sits down to watch his favourite cricket and football teams.
Author Name: The Honourable Terry Lister
How long have you been writing? I have been writing books since 2019. However, at an earlier point in my life, I wrote occasional columns for two local newspapers. My columns covered sport, business and politics.
Did you ever imagine that you would be published one day? I had a dream of being published as I have always wanted to write a book about one of our major sporting events in Bermuda. This dream has been with me for more than 40 years and I am yet to put pen to paper.
What made you want to become an author? So, I wanted to do the still unwritten book, but instead, I have embraced my travels with the Terry Series and have written two books thus far. This happened because once I retired and started my travels, I was sharing randomly with family and friends. I was encouraged to write a blog, which I declined, but by 2017, I started to write daily Facebook posts; this led to more calls for a book. Finally, in 2019, I wrote the first book.
How long have you been published? Having been published in 2019, working with a small publishing house in the US, I decided that it would be easier to work with a publisher closer at hand, so I now work with a Bermudian publisher. My experiences with both have been positive and I am most appreciative of their guidance.
How does it feel to be published? It feels great to have my stories published. I read reviews very closely, hoping to learn what the reader likes, what I may have done wrong, or what I may not have emphasized enough. I do this because my goal in writing is to expose the reader to places that they may have heard about on the news. We all know that to make the news it had to be a bad story, so I try to give as accurate a presentation of the countries I visit as possible. In doing so, I share both the good and the bad. It does bother me when some tend to be impressed (in a most negative way) when I discuss the corruption that I have experienced firsthand. However, on the whole, I believe I am accomplishing my mission.
Are you self-published or did you go through a publishing company? *Why? As stated, I work with a small publishing house. I do this so that I can focus on the writing and they can focus on the technical side, moving far more quickly than I could in that area.
When I retired, I first went through all the countries in Central America. I experimented with the length of the trips to see what I was most comfortable with. Trips varied from six to twelve weeks; finally, I decided eight was best for me. I then went to every country in South America…except one. Can you guess which one?
How many books have you written? Finally in 2017, I decided to go to Africa. In six trips, I have been to 21 countries. I have written two books detailing the first two trips, so I have four more books in this series to write!!
What is/are the name of your book(s)? My first book is titled “Immersed in West Africa”. It shares my time spent in five nations: Senegal, Mauritania, The Gambia, Guinea Bissau and Guinea Conakry.
My second book is “A New Day Dawns”. In this book, I share with the readers Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast and Ghana.
What genre is it/are they in? Naturally, my books are in the Travel genre. However, reviewers comment on the inclusion of history throughout and that is because I like to "set the stage" and when one asks why, the question is best answered by sharing what came before. My writing style is such that my books are an easy read, so the reader is not bogged down in " heavy stuff".
What do you feel will inspire others to never forget when they read your story(ies)? First, it is my hope that the reader will realize that Africa is a continent not a country. There are 54 different countries in Africa, each having their own customs and traditions.
Second, it is my hope that the reader will be less dependent upon the media to form their opinions about Africa.
Thirdly, I want the readers to have a desire to go see for themselves.
What's the hardest part about writing a book? For me, writing the books has been relatively easy. However, marketing the books has been the most difficult task of my life. I thought everybody loved to travel! What I have learned is that of the 28 genres, travel ranks 27! A hard sell right out the gate! On top of that, popular travel books are very Eurocentric. Often, 45 of the top selling 50 travel books are about Europe, so I have a very difficult task. Of course, I welcome this opportunity to be in front of this audience.
What's the easiest part about writing a book? My books are easy to write as I am telling my story; sharing my experiences. I do lots of research before my trips, so I know what I am looking for when I get there. The most important part is being real and to tell the story... Don't write fiction!!
Where can interested readers purchase their copy of your book(s)? My books are available on Amazon. They can be purchased as an eBook, a black and white book, and a book with full colour pictures. 99% of the pictures are mine, which I am very happy about as this is in keeping with sharing my story.
Do you have any future projects in the works? *Is there a tentative release date? I plan to write the third book in the series over the summer. An early Fall release is likely.
Do you have any social media sites that you would like to share with my readers? My readers can follow my story on my Facebook page.
