Misha: Cas' love for Dean was of the gay, romantic kind and his confession was a gay declaration of love.

Jensen: i kinda almost think its limiting to put restrictive notions of love and sexuality on it because Cas' love for Dean was so much bigger and more all encompassing than either of those things; it was on a level and intensity that we as humans can't comprehend or describe, and narrowing it down to just sex or romance is restrictive.

Jared: it was neither a sexual nor romantic kind of love and actually it was the same kind of love that I have for my son and no offence but Cas loving Dean wasnt the point of that scene

the fact that the woman who asked the question identified herself as the mother of two queer children and asked when they knew that cas had romantic feelings for dean and they jumped at her about how “that wasn’t the point of that scene“ (it was) and just because you say you love someone that doesn’t mean “you want to do something with them or to them,” as if she had asked about something inherently dirty, after, again. this would be homophobic regardless but this woman specifically led with. how the inclusion of gay characters was meaningful to her because of her queer children. it’s just cartoonishly bad
