BEST WAYS TO GET TO SPILT MILK
Welcome to Canberra! Now that you’ve made it here, how are you getting to Commonwealth Park?
1. Catch the Bus
Catching a bus is one of the cheapest and easiest ways to get to Spilt Milk. You can hitch a ride with any Transport Canberra Blue Rapid 300 service from any major bus station with services departing every 15 minutes (or better) throughout the day. Gungahlin (or EPIC camp grounds) you can catch a 200 Red Rapid, 956 or 958 to the city and transfer onto one of the services running especially to take you to Spilt Milk. Look out for the signage and get all the bus details here.
There are also free buses home at the end of the night, which you can read more about here.
2.Walk
Warm up and walk to Commonwealth Park. There are two key walking routes that you need to know about, which we have mapped out here for you. Both use the footbridges that are the safest and quickest way to get through to the Spilt Milk entry.
From the City Bus interchange, it shouldn’t take you more then twenty minutes on foot to get to the Spilt Milk entry. We’ve lined up additional bus services from the city bus interchange, just look out for a Transport Canberra staff member or follow the signage to the correct bus platform. From New Acton it should be less than twenty minutes via the Parkes Way footbridge and along the lake.
3. Book an Uber or Taxi
You can utilise Uber or the extensive taxi network to get to Spilt Milk. Please be aware of surcharges during peak periods as they can sting the bank account. Ask your driver to follow the signage drop you off at the drop off zones off Commonwealth Avenue and you can then walk up to the Spilt Milk entry, as all roads into Commonwealth Park will be closed for the event. If travelling southbound on Commonwealth Ave, your driver will need to go across the lake and loop back north bound to drop you off at the Westside drop off point. Check the map here for all road closures and drop off/pick up areas.
Cabxpress: 6260 6011
Canberra Cabs: 13 22 27
Download the Uber app here.
4. Get a lift
Have you convinced someone to drop you off? Firstly, you owe them. Secondly, make them drop you off at the drop off/pick up zone at West Basin carpark. There’s a lot of road closures around the event, so make sure they take it slow and be aware some roads won’t be accessible as per normal. Do not stop on Commonwealth Avenue. If travelling south bound on Commonwealth Ave, your driver will need to go across the lake and loop back north bound to drop you off at the Westside drop off point. Make sure your drivers follow the signage. Check the map here for all road closures and drop off/pick up areas.
5. Ride a bike
Save the planet and ride your two wheeler to Spilt Milk, but don’t expect to ride home if you’ve had a few brews (drunk riding is as illegal as drunk driving and you can get into a serious pickle if caught). Bikes can also use the footbridges as their a shared path.
6. Drive & park
We don’t encourage driving because parking is annoying, but if you’ve drawn the short straw, the closest parking is at Civic Pool which is a five minute walk to Spilt Milk. Civic Pool is located on the corner of Constitution Ave and Allara St, Canberra City. Read the signs and make sure you’re all good, there’s nothing worse than a parking fine to ruin your day. Don’t bother driving to Commonwealth Park as there are road closures in place.
P.S
The area surrounding Spilt Milk, including the drop off zones and bus stops, is completely alcohol-free, so don’t bring those roadies with you.

ALL THE EATS (+ DRINKS)
Spilt Milk presents… all the tasty delights
1. First and foremost, the drinks. Nothing worse than turning up to cans only. We’ve lined up one for the ladies: the Prosecco Spritz, a summer cocktail with blood orange, botanicals and a twist of bitters.
2. Smashed avo is life. That’s why we’ve got The Avocado Hut to spoil us with all the avo 🥑
3. It wouldn’t be a summer festival without cider, and Batlow Cider are providing their best – no sugar, concentrate or additives necessary.
4. Here at Spilt Milk HQ we’ve been talking about Pimp My Chimney for months. Literally, on a daily basis. The dessert Chimney (known as kürtőskalács in Hungarian or trdelník in Czech) is a bread-like freshly baked pastry, named after its hollow, cylindrical shape. They have a satisfying crunch on the outside and a soft, fluffy dough on the inside, are filled with ice-cream and topped with mouth-watering toppings like Nutella, cookies and toffee. SIGN. US. UP ✔
5. Little Creatures leads the way in craft brews, and starting life 16 years ago, it was born out of the love of hoppy beers by a group of brewing veterans, who decided to make a unique range of ales to tempt the tastebuds of Australian drinkers. The entire team behind the brewery are certified hopheads, mad on the explosion of flavour derived from brewing with whole hop flowers. It is these flowers that provide Little Creatures beers with their unique, floral aromas and refreshing bitterness. As true craftspeople, our brewers constantly test and extend themselves in the brewhouse, striving to make better beer with greater consistency each and every day.
6. Offering melt-in-the-mouth smoked food from a Texas-style pit smoke at a music festival? YEP. Making their debut Spilt Milk appearance, MEET is travelling from Newie to give us the true MEET experience, offering a range of meats, poultry and sausages spit roasted and slowly cooked from their custom-made barbecue over natural wood and charcoal.
7. Born in a tiny territory kitchen, Canberra’s own homebrewers turned gypsy, PACT Beer Co burst on to the beer scene in 2015. One year on, PACT is still three close mates, trying out new flavours, scaling them up, and spreading the craft beer love around the festival, across Canberra and all over the country.  With such tasty flavours, you can be sure there won’t be any spilt PACT at Spilt Milk!
8. If you haven’t tried Down N’ Out, you aren’t living. These guys took over the Sydney burger scene in just one year. Their insanely viral weekly burger specials have made Down N’ Out known throughout the world and they have been featured internationally on mega publications such as CNBC, BBC, Fox News, INSIDER, Buzzfeed and Mashable just to name a few. No biggie. This is their first time in Canberra and we can’t wait for you finally start living.
9. And saving the best till last, our friends at Pimms are bringing their super special Pimms Garden to Canberra for our friends. It’s only the ultimate summer festival drink.
See more of the food over here.

THE ARTISTS OF SPILT MILK
While Spilt Milk might be known for our line up, we want our art installations to take on a larger-than-life presence. We’ve searched studios around Aus for the best creatives around to bring them to the grassy shores of Lake Burley Griffin.
A mix of established and up-and-coming artists will create site-specific works, including the set, stage and pretty much everything you’ll see on the day.
One of these artists is Jeff McCann, the incredibly talented creative behind the art piece used for Spilt Milk 2017.
Jeff works with musicians, fashion photographers, designers, directors and other artists to create unique, magical and ethereal environments. Inspired by avant-garde fashion, surface design and tapestries, he takes what is considered rubbish and transforms it in to new work ranging from theatrical fashion, accessories, art and sculpture. Creating looks for the best in the biz, his Cardigan Threads Collective will be on show for our very special Spilt Milk fam.
Look out for Jeff + the talented artists on the day. Take a moment to appreciate their skills 💖

Music to Create to -Abyss.607
1. List of your top 10 tracks to get creative to (if you’ve got more throw them in, more the merrier)
·       1. Kingdom Of Not by Sun Ra
·       2. Inceptus by Arcana
·       3. Black Sun by Dead Can Dance
·       4. Disciples Ascent by Kinit Her
·       5. Fall Apart By Death In June
·       6. Gods Garden By Cult Of Youth
·       7. Black Ships Ate the Sky by Current 93
·       8. New Age by Blitz
·       9. Birch Black by Agalloch
·       10. Imprisonment of The Mind By Peter Bjargo
·       11. Mode Of Affection by NON
·       12. Hypnopazuzu by Current 93
·       13. From Her To Eternity by Nick Cave and the Badseeds
·       14. Zodiac by God Is An Astronaut
·       15. Masenqo by  Mulatu Astatke
·       16. Iron Paradise by Midori Takada
·       17. Three Card Trick by The Clash
2. Answer the below questions
– Choose 2 of the tracks and tell us: Why did you like to get creative to this particular song? (1 to 2 sentences is great)
First track would be Black Ships ate the sky by Current 93, David Tibet is up there as one of my inspirations, there are so many versions of this tune and the discography of his work is massive it’s too hard to choose any particular one song. But that said, this song is great to listen to when I’m coming up with sketches and ideas. The schizophrenic energy, tempo and formidable lyrics really allow me to spearhead into it uncharted forms
Second track would be Kingdom of not by Sun Ra. Surreal Jazz musician with boundless music. This particular tune is great to get positive vibe going to clear my mind and loosen up when working on something.
– Choose 1 of the tracks and tell us: How it made it onto your creative playlist (did you hear it on the radio, see it live at an event, friend gave it to you)
Inceptus by Arcana is one of the most played tunes on my Ipod.  Arcana was one of those bands I discovered years back now, and which helped put me in more of a direction of music that spoke to me personally. It’s a looping Instrumental piece.  It’s on this playlist because it’s such a powerful piece and continues to inspire and uplift me each time I play it.
  – If possible, tell us the story about a certain track that’s connected to one of your pieces or events you painted at
Three Card Trick by The Clash is a song I used to play a lot just before I’d go paint a night time spot, It’ll always psyche me up and give the kick I need as I paint alone often. This song has a particularly nostalgic value now for when I was living in Canberra.

SPILT MILK TICKET SCALPING
Ticket scalping sucks! To try to reduce scalping and stop people getting ripped off, we’ve put in place legitimate and safe ways to sell your Spilt Milk ticket if you can no longer go or want to try to buy a ticket if your friends all have tix and all you’ve got is FOMO.
There are a heap of legit-looking websites that claim to have tickets, but we’ve made sure to only partner with reputable ticket sellers (i.e Moshtix and Oztix). While those in power are trying hard to crack down on resellers (*about time*), we’ve seen a fair few ticket scalpers slip past them on Gumtree, Facebook and eBay. Spilt Milk has a venue capacity and we have maxed it, so if you come along with fake tix, we’re legally not allowed to let you in.
Since we’re sold out, there’s only one way to get your hands on legit tickets and that’s through the Moshtix resale facility.
The Spilt Milk 2017 resale facility kicks off Tuesday 3 October, meaning that if you missed out on tickets, you’ll have the opportunity to secure a legit ticket to Spilt Milk 2017.
If you purchased a ticket but can no longer make it, the official resale facility allows you to sell your ticket to someone who missed out. You must register your ticket to sell via your Moshtix account from Tuesday 3 October.
Those wanting to buy a ticket have the opportunity to do so, subject to availability, from 9:00am Monday 23rd of October (AEDT) at www.moshtix.com.au with the code that will be emailed to waitlist subscribers. You can sign up to the waitlist here.
For those not on the waitlist, any tickets still available will be online from 12pm Monday 23 October. We can’t guarantee how many or when tickets will be available during this time.
  Important dates for your diary:
SELLER DATES: Sellers will be able to register their tickets to sell via Moshtix by logging into their account and following the prompts. Tuesday 3rd October from 9:00am (AEDT) – Resale facilities open for sellers Wednesday 15th of November 5:00pm (AEDT) – Resale facilities closes BUYER DATES Monday 23rd October at 9:00am (AEDT) – Resale facilities open to buyers with the waitlist code Monday 23rd October at 12:00pm (AEDT) – Resale facilities open to all buyers Wednesday 15th of November 5:00pm (AEDT) – Resale facilities close for all buyers We cannot guarantee how many or when tickets will be available during this time period.
