HOW I MAKE GIFS: An Annoyingly Thorough Tutorial

This tutorial is good for people who have never made gifs before, or for those who are just starting out! It goes into extreme detail and is both very picture-heavy and text-heavy. However, if you’ve never used Photoshop before going through this tutorial, you should familiarize yourself with it first, i.e. look through the tabs and controls, maybe try some adjustment layers out.

As well as being just a tutorial, it includes a lot of my advice and tips on the way.

You’ll need:

KMPlayer (or a similar program to screencap films/TV shows, but I’ll specifically be using KMPlayer in this tutorial)

a version of Photoshop with the timeline option (I personally use CS5 and will use it in this tutorial)

a sharpening action – download mine here
