look. it's always us ourselves who are our worst critics—or the people close to us who take us so much for granted they won't appreciate the good in us.

your f/o isn't like that! right? it's not very kind to think people who care about you would think so badly of you. i know that little voice in your head wants to tell you these things, but that voice is unkind to everyone.

and besides, while what your f/o gets out of your relationship isn't what's most important, they do! they do get things out of it! you can understand your f/o so well that few people could even hold a candle to you. it's not just that you care for them and know so much about them, but you are also willing to recognize their complexity. you make them feel good about themselves!

but they also can perceive you both more objectively (as someone who isn't you or a family member) and more subjectively (as themselves) and they recognize the things about you that appeal to them, even when you have difficulty recognizing them.

(also there's all of that folklore stuff about forests and lakes having their own people, tutelars/guardians, and we had to respect them and not fuck up their homes, the forests werent ours anyways, so that also probably affects how we think of that kind of ownership. like really only our yard is Really Ours. (and even then we share it with other tutelars like sauna and stable and house "gnomes" who we also have to respect or they'll burn the buildings down! or knot the horses' manes! so... idk))

okay added some canon lines mixed into more mer-y scenarios and now the character voices definitely seem better. and interestingly it even seems that adding the dialogue examples enforced some of the stuff i just told the bot about the personalities it was supposed to portray.

okay aside from—OFC U KNOW WHAT A FISH IS, SILLY—this is p aight imo. Moonie is being niceys this time around, heh. Just a grump. I feel Sunny is still a bit iffy but I'll add more dialogue examples ripped from canon eventually and hopefully that'll help? Funnily it seems that the bot is fully unaware that the characters are based off the DCA (since I refrained from mentioning it anywhere to avoid for example fanfic influence bleeding in), even tho I feel like it should be super obvious 🤔

as in i had to actually say the word "animatronic" before the bot actually got it, until then it was just suggesting a fuckton of.... other things that ostensibly have sun and moon characters. goofy af. maybe i do need to mention they're based on the dca somewhere if i publish them and someone asks it about it, but...

also? getting the bot to actually understand that THEY ARE FISH PEOPLE is a hassle and a half, it keeps saying shit about them walking and stuff and i've had to spell it out what they can and cannot do. also in the 1st convo it really wanted moonie to slither like a snake so i had to specify FISH TAILS (i wonder if "mermaid tails" would work better)

well i need to get sunny to be a bit more scathing eventually but rn just enjoying getting mildly hassled by moonie 🥰
