I got 2 high yesterday. The come up was painful and the visuals were evil. Then I passed out and slept 11 hours. Woke up still high but dramatically more tolerable.
As an afterthought I realized I may have been a little too rough with one of the new guys. I didn’t hit him but I did show him that I had him. And then I headbutt him and threw him. I feel a bit bad but I recognize I’ve been getting carried away because I need to go to more rodas so I can try all the things we practice and the things I think up.
He'll be straight, and yeah you'd think Orlando would have more Capoeira groups and such. I did my one week trial a few weeks back at Capoeira Pelourinho. Stay down in Kissimmee/poinciana so it's not that close and a bit expensive for now so I've been practicing daily or at least once every two days and improving. Should maybe upload videos to be critiqued so I don't form bad habits by not having a teacher.

People of color cannot “race bait”…. Saying this implies that by discussing our experience we are “baiting” you into something… And stop all this nonsense of the “race card” that discussing your experience is some cheap ploy to win an argument
If your argument is so weak that you must resort to these terms than your lack of reason and your racism is showing

Quilombos are settlements in Brazil established by fugitive slaves called Quilombolas, or Maroons. These communities began to be established during the century spanning 1570 and 1670, when the price of sugar was extremely high and slaves on Brazilian sugar plantations were forced to work in hellish conditions. Most slaves that were exported from Africa were sent to the Portuguese sugar colonies. This was because the life expectancy of the enslaved Africans in these areas was extremely low, with many not surviving one year. To this end, escapes were frequent and justified. The escaped slaves formed their own, self-sufficient, self-defending communities.
Many quilombos were established near large Portuguese and Brazilian plantations, often assisting in both the escape of slaves from these plantations and also recapture of runaway slaves, depending on the circumstances and conditions. By virtue of them being so close to the enemy, many ended up being totally destroyed. However, those that were further out into the hinterland survived, and today are large towns with the people retaining notable aspects of the West African culture of their ancestors.
The most famous of the quilombos was Palmares, renowned for fighters skilled in the martial art of capoeira. This settlement acquired the status of a semi-independent republic, with a population in the tens of thousands. The Europeans stated that it was easier to defeat another European force with modern equipment and tactics than it was to overcome a single quilombo warrior.

Kiira Motors of Uganda has launched Africa’s first solar-powered bus. Known as the “Kayoola”, the 35 seater bus can travel up to 50 miles straight and is powered by two batteries. One is connected to solar panels on the roof, while the other is charged electrically for longer distances and journeys at night.
Paul Isaac Musasizi, Kiira Motors’ CEO says it takes just one hour to fully charge each battery, making the vehicle suitable for “all sorts of duties in the cities”, such as school buses or longer-haul journeys across borders.

According to the U.S. Consul in Santiago de Cuba, “many innocent and defenseless Negroe in the country are being butchered.” Bohíos were set on fire, and peasant families trying to run away were hunted down and shot. Alleged rebels who surrendered or were taken prisoner were often killed, and their bodies were often multilated.
The British consulate at Santiago reported that whites would come into town with a packet of Negroes’ ears cut off prisoners who had been shot.
…Commander of the Cuban Army General Monteagudo carried out such “carnage in the hills” that “it was impossible to estimate the number of dead.”
Estonez was shot at point-blank range, together with fifty men…. His body, covered with flies, was displayed in Santiago de Cuba before being buried in a common grave….
