hateeee when people say chris "kidnapped sonic" in episode 51 it's just so. blatantly incorrect i hate it.

sonic went with chris completely willingly. sonic is extremely capable and strong, and he isn't a goddamn doormat, he would've left if he wanted to.

I noticed that Dark Sonic was getting some more attention lately (probably because of the redraw prompt) and couldn't help but think. Do people remember why Sonic was so worried about Chris in that scene

In the dub, Sonic remarks that Chris is unconscious, but it doesn't really look that way to me? His expression is too tense to not be at least partly awake. But if he wasn't knocked out, what happened--

Yeah he kinda got slashed across the back

Now since they weren't allowed to show (much) blood, they ended up making his injury seem really vague in the scene where Sonic actually finds him and Cosmo, but uh. Pretty sure that guy's bleeding out a little

Suddenly their reactions hit a little harder, huh?

(Note that it's specifically on the line "what did you do to Chris" that Sonic makes the switch into dark mode, which. Yeah that's fair)

My favorite Sonic is “Sonic X” Sonic. Not only is he fucking hilarious, but he’s like the most antisocial protagonist I’ve ever fucking seen.

Like, the other people in the show will be like “Hey Sonic, you wanna go hang out?” And he’s just like “lol ✨no✨” and JUST FUCKING RUNS OFF TO THE FUCKING MOUNTAINS, JUST SO HE DOESNT HAVE TO HANG OUT WITH THEM.

It’s like that almost every episode, and that ends up being the almost main problem every episode. They’ll be fighting and they go “Hey, where the fuck is Sonic????” And someone will go “Eh, it’s fine, he’ll show up lol” and then he just does??? He just shows up and finishes the fight like he wasn’t in the fucking Netherlands 5 minutes ago. And I find that concept fucking hilarious

Anyways, just go watch Sonic X. It’s great. I prefer the Japanese sub, but do whatever

everytime i see a bad take about chris i get so pissed off its unreal. like people really truly think the only reason chris was a mess in the homebound saga. people really goddamn think that chris's parents awful parenting only caused chris to develop an unhealthy attachment to sonic and co. rather than continuing to influence him throughout the series.

the reason chris grew so attached to sonic and co in the first place was because he finally didn't have to be LONELY anymore. his parents were constantly far from home , his grandpa was busy doing his sciency stuff and while im sure ella and tanaka DID genuinely love him, they were paid to be there, to help him.

but then sonic and friends came into his life, and his house wasn't so goddamn empty anymore.

his parents didn't improve during this time but it that didn't feel like it mattered anymore.

until they had to leave.

now let me be entirely fucking clear here: nelson and lindsey are absolutely AWFUL parents. like the worst. just because their mess ups come from what they didn't do instead of what they did doesn't fucking make it better. accept that Nelson and Lindsey we awful parents or die.

of goddamn course he reacted awfully! how would you react if you had spent your whole life being extremely neglected by your parents but then you met these aliens that filled the hole in your life and you finally weren't so lonely but then they have to live and it means everything will go back to how it was before and you'll be lonely again and it'll feel worse because now you know what it's like to NOT be lonely.

of course he reacted badly. abuse tends to hurt more when you got to see what it's like to NOT have to feel like this all the time. i would know.

X!Sonic (And Transformations) Color Theory and Shape Language Post

Blue: Blue is the color of trustworthiness, dependability, and loyalty, being the main color in Sonic’s color palette.

Green: Green is the color of life and very grounded. It also represents growth and health, as well as hope. But, it’s also associated with envy and jealousy.

Red: Red is a color that represents power and danger, along with passion and energy. It can come as menacing and a villain color at times but due to it not being Sonic’s main color and the other colors it comes off more positively than negatively.

Gold: Gold is a color representing wealth and success, but due to it being a shade of yellow it also comes across as optimistic and uplifting.

Silver: Much like gold, silver is associated with wealth and affluence but it can  also represent modernism and is a very calming color.

Overall, Sonic’s color palette makes him come across as trustworthy and dependable, along with being very down to earth, as well as making him come across as a optimistic and hopeful person.

Yellow: Yellow is the color of happiness, fun and optimism. But even yellow isn’t devoid of negative connotations, being also known as the color of deceit and can be associated with jealousy.

Orange: Just like yellow, orange is a very positively associated color, representing optimism, enthusiasm, warmth and positivity. It can be also associated with youth.

White: White is widely known to represent purity and innocence.

Overall, Super Sonic’s color palette is incredibly positively associated, being very warm and energetic. The splash of red his shoes bring can remind you of his sheer power in this form, but still it overall comes across as positive and friendly, someone you can trust. (Note: I find it very fun that they made X!Super Sonic’s eyes orange rather than red, it makes him come across as very friendly as opposed to regular Super Sonic’s red eyes which by having high contrast with him being mostly yellow, draws attention to them and makes him come across as dangerous and powerful.)

Black: Black as a color has many associations, death and mourning being some of the most prominent but it can also represent power and mystery. It is most often a color sported by villains, and can represent evil. It can also represent pessimism and sadness.

White: Represents purity and innocence, in a color palette as dark as this it would usually be symbolic in representing some weakness or goodness still within but the way it is shown with Dark Sonic’s lack of pupils and irises makes it imposing and calls to mind it’s more negative meanings, such as, coldness, distance, loneliness and emptiness.

Blue: Blue is usually a positively associated color but the dark and dull shades Dark Sonic has brings to mind it’s more negative meanings, melancholy and coldness.

Green: Green can be positive but with the other colors, it brings to mind it’s more negative meaning of envy.

Overall, Dark Sonic’s colors are incredibly dull and lifeless, coming across as very miserable and empty.

Blue: Blue is associated with trustworthiness, dependability and loyalty, along with coldness and melancholy.

White: White represents purity and innocence, along with coldness, distance, loneliness and emptiness.

Green: Green represents life, growth, health, harmony and envy.

Honestly.. it’s hard to say what overall impression Nazo gives me because we have literally no idea what purpose he would’ve served in story besides being Sonic’s super form. His colors are overall light but other than that I don’t have much to say in terms of colors.

Sonic is primarily made of triangles, triangles are active and dangerous and suitable for a character like Sonic, but he also has some circles and a couple squares and tends to be rounded overall, circles are friendly and warm, making Sonic’s general shape language make him come across as friendly but still active and dangerous, along with the couple squares showing his dependability.

Super Sonic is primarily the same, his eyes have narrowed and become sharper but he still comes across in the same way, albeit a bit more dangerous looking.

Dark Sonic is made of triangles and loses the kind of overall circle shapes Sonic has, making him come across as dangerous and sharp. His other shapes are less visible than before, making him being made of triangles much more prominent.

Nazo is literally just made of triangles, just like Dark Sonic, making him come across as dangerous and active, not to be messed with.
