One thing I came up with for them that turned out to be kinda canon or at least has canon evidence to support it
okay this is a huge stretch. a massive stretch. really pulling canon paper-thin. BUT. BUT. HEAR ME OUT. i headcanoned many moons ago that the wilson family speaks louisiana french. and then, in the finale of tfatws, sam wilson said "au revoir," therefore i concluded my headcanon was #confirmed. I KNOW IT AIN'T MUCH. BUT LOOK. LOOK.
YOU CAN SEE ON THIS MAP HIGHLIGHTING AREAS OF LOUISIANA WHERE FRENCH IS SPOKEN (cajun, creole, and so on, the dialects have many similarities which is why the general term is "louisiana french") THAT DELACROIX FALLS WITHIN IT. therefore i consider my la french headcanon kinda, sorta, barely within the realms of canon, thank you and goodnight.
(i actually wrote a sambucky + la french fic already lmaooo and sarah obv has a starring role in it bc. i mean. i love her. how could i not include her as a crucial part)
One thing I came up with for them that I refuse to change no matter how OOC it may seem
she studied literature!! i will never back down from this!! in an upcoming sarahmay ficlet of mine, may mentions that sarah enjoys postcolonial caribbean lit as well as works from victorian england. also, i don't know why, but in my head i have this idea that sam was a theatre kid (probably me drawing inspiration from mackie's irl stage involvement) while sarah loved lit and pretty much their only common ground in high school was shakespeare, lmao. idk why but that's funny to me 😂
Their government assigned theme song
oh gosh. im so bad at song association sjdsadsks okay uhhhh i've been listening to a lot of clifton chenier lately (and some queen ida, too, but i've only just started going through some of her albums) so for now i'll say Jusque Parce Que Je T'Aime (Only Because I Love You). in another week im sure my answer will change lmfao
Something about them barely explored in canon that I expanded on
tragically, heartbreakingly, we aren't given much about sarah wilson in canon at all T.T (and like. yes i know why. yes i understand she's a secondary character. here's the thing: i don't care. i want m o r e.) and i haven't posted it yet, but in my upcoming sarahmay // sambucky ficlet i explore a) how she interacts with other female characters (bc i think we only thing we got in canon was,, a phone call with karli??) and b) her and sam's relationship!! i don't know if that really counts as "barely explored" bc it was honestly one of the things we did see a fair amount of with her, but again. since she's a secondary character (a CRIME), in general there is less canon content of her, therefore i am including that here
3 characters from another media that helped inspire my shaping of them
n/a, not the way i usually approach media for some reason
Did I permanently remove any unfavorable canon elements from their character/setting
uhhhh i don't think so? tfatws is currently the only mcu canon we have of her, so unfortunately that means there isn't a huge amount of canon to work with. i guess i haven't written any sarahbucky (yet) but like. i don't think the ship is "unfavorable" good lord 💀 they are cuties!! their hesitant lil flirting in ep. 5 was so freaking soft 🥺 im just currently back on my wlw rarepair bullshit with sarahmay, thus sarahbucky is temporarily set aside 😂 anyways: no, i don't think i've removed anything canon from her character/setting as of right now! who knows what the future will hold lolol
A/N: just a ficlet of Sam cookin’ things up, guest starring Sarah Wilson! a domestic tale for @samtember2022. :3

Humming to ‘Heard It Through the Grapevine’, he removed boiled shrimp shells from a pot. He poured it on a strainer as steam slightly fogged the sink. He tossed eight tablespoons of unsalted butter into a bowl. He added chopped and minced vegetables along with it too. He stirred them with a ladle, watching them melt. He belted out to the chorus, holding another spoon as a microphone.
I’m laughing at “seabass”. In spanish, the nickname for the name Sebastián is Sebas. And I believe that Sebas, in English, would be pronounced Seabass but it sounds so bizarre to me it’s funny. Either way, I’ll take it as a term on endearment from Anthony.
