I knew we found love at 5 AM. Our short phone call had turned into 6 hours long. You had to get up in a few hours but you stayed on the phone with me all night. My cheeks hurt from smiling so hard into my cell phone and my eyes were drooping and I couldnāt stop yawning but my heart was wide awake.
I knew we found love under a frozen sky. My lips were frosty and chapped, but you still kissed me anyway. I could see our passionate frantic breaths between each kiss, your spit froze onto my face but I couldnāt care less. I was blushing, but I donāt think you could tell because we were so flushed from the cold.
I knew we found love the day I met your family. At dinner they kept asking me questions and I was so nervous that I could barely even respond. My hand was shaking so hard that you held it under the table to calm me down. When they werenāt looking you mouthed āI love youā to me and without hesitation I mouthed it back.
I knew we found love during our first fight. My mouth was sore from screaming and my eyes stung from the tears that trickled endlessly down my face. You wrapped your arms around me so tightly that I wasnāt sure where I started and you began. You softly whispered Iām sorry into my ear and I frowned. Not because I was still angry about what happened, but because I knew no matter what you did, Iād always be yours.
I knew we found love, when you touched me in a way that no one else had before. Your hands wandered across me, as if you knew exactly where they needed to be. Your dilated pupils looked at me through the dark and shimmered. You grinned. There was no turning back.
I knew I lost love, when you wiped the tears off my cheek, and the only word that left my mouth was āstayā. I watched you walk away into the street from my window, I slid down the wall and felt my heart slowly stop. Everything was dark and cold. I wanted you so bad. Itās just the feelings were still there but you werenāt.

Hi, i would like to know if you have ever thought about the day you would retire and stop dancing? Has it ever crossed your mind to give up because its too much to handle, on days when you rather not be dancing, too stressed, too tried, maybe unmotivated or unappreciated? Or perhaps because you may have thought "one day i would like to do something else, i have been blessed with a beautiful life and talent but its time to move on." I am asking because as a young dancer who needs to work a little bit harder than some to catch up, whom perhaps wasnt made to dance but just loves it too much to stop. I told myself that my goal is "To never stop dancing". ( not literally till i die) but there are days when haters, insecurities and fatigue get the best of me, and the love seems to dull a little. What do you do? And if you dont give up, which i probably wont, can you picture the day you lace up your shoes for the last performance? What after?ps. sorry for the long winded question, feel free to summarize or shorten. I dont care if you post it or not. But if not would you kindly msg me on tumblr. Thank you, you are an inspiration and true role model of dance.
wow!Iāve had this for awhile, and keep reading it waiting for the right time to sit down and write a replyā¦Iām a big day dreamer so I think a lot about the possibilities in my futureā¦but I wouldnāt say I think about the day I will stop dancing.Ā I mostly think about how my relationship with dance might change.Ā Stopping is inevitable, but to focus on that is depressingā¦and I think that can paralyze someone.Ā Accepting that your relationship will have its up, downs and change is humbling and motivating (for me anyway).Ā Just like ANY relationship, there will be times when itās not all sunshine and roses.Ā Anything worth it is takes work.Ā If you love someone it means you accept the good and the bad, and to you, the good ultimately outweighs the badā¦so you put up with it.Ā If you love somethingā¦like dance the relationship should be the same.Ā Your message is really inspiring.Ā I believe that if your goal is to truly ānever stopā then you can and SHOULD push for it.Ā The haters, insecurities, and fatigue will get to you sometimesā¦and the love will dullā¦.but you need to push past that and remember the promise you made to yourself.Ā Thatās why I like to daydream about dancing.Ā It keeps me going.Ā Keep thinking big, maybe even too big for others to understandā¦but if thatās what helps you in those hard timesā¦then do it.As far as my changing relationship with danceā¦ I definitely couldnāt predict the path Iāve taken.Ā Itās gone all over the place.Iām still very much into dancing and now choreographing and directingā¦but Iāve also been lucky enough to find a future passionā¦perhaps for when I cut back on the dancingā¦.or at the same time! Who knows!Iām going to school right now looking to have a career in education psychology. Through teaching, choreographing, and directing Iāve discovered a love for helping students and how powerful dance can be to get through to people.Ā I want to give to others what dance has given to me, a positive sense of self-worth and well-being. I want to use school counseling along with movement and arts therapy as a form of psychotherapy.Ā Art is such a powerful thing that should be utilized to get through to students. So this is how my relationship with dance is changing.I have so many dreams so Iām pushing for all of them and I am so happy and fortunate to find a passion/calling that will keep me involved with dancing and the arts for a long, long time. :)Thank you for your kind and inspiring words!I hope this helps you keep your love of dancing strong. Please donāt give up.
