Just because I've always found it depressingly easy to get top marks of I wanted, doesn't mean I like the education system. Maybe I can see the flaws better, because I looked from the top down and had plenty time to look at friends and mates that got nothing useful out of the tests. Also in bettering the system I might also help those who find it too easy. If we make education that are more focused on teaching skills and constantly building on these skills, everyone will get more out of it.

So we all know that Tumblr is US-centric. But to what degree? (and can we skew the results of this poll by posting it at a time where they should be asleep?)
Reblog to increase sample size!

This.
It is so important.
Also if you have one of the mentioned conditions that can be triggeed from use, cannabis can make it worse. So you cannot say: "I already have bipolar so why not?" No, you risk getting worse mood swings or getting more mixed mood or rapid cycling. And similar with other physical issues.
You can find a lot of studies explaining the risks.
But how do you know ow if you are susceptible? Well only thing to do is try to get as much information as possible about your family and genetics, so you can guess what you might carry around. And some of it needs detective work and making some educated guesses. You will rarely get a "yes your great grandpa had schizo-spektrum disorder and some paranoia" you will rather get a "great grandpa insisted having dark curtains everywhere because he said the tax inspectors would come and look in". Or a nice: grandma was bipolar, no it's "grandma was very creative and funny, but she often had the blues therefore your aunt helped raise us younger kids since she was 10." Or ot could be "yes you had 3 uncles die of hear issues before they turned 50."
So ask around and get the puzzles together. You might find other interesting things about your family in the process.
Hi everyone, lets talk about marijuana.
Weed is, for many people, a relatively low-impact drug - especially if only used infrequently or for a short period of time. There are many people who can use cannabis with few-to-no ill effects, and that’s great. But there are some people who, from a medical perspective, should be wary of using it, and a lot of people are unaware of that.
FYI, this is NOT an anti-weed post. This is an educational post. Some people cannot drink coffee because of how their bodies react to it; other people are fine. Some people can drink alcohol; others can't. Maybe because their livers can't process it; maybe the prescription drugs they're on would react badly to it; maybe for a range of other reasons.
Weed is similar. Some people react badly to it. Some people are on medication that responds badly when mixed with cannabis. Etcetera. Some people are more at risk than others when consuming weed, and you need to know whether you're one of those people before you choose whether or not to partake.
So. The short version is:
If you have (or are at risk of) heart conditions, liver conditions, psychiatric conditions, lung conditions, or are at all immunocompromised, then you probably should not use weed. If you are on any kind of over-the-counter or prescription drugs, you should check their interactions with cannabis before you use any. If you start throwing up and can’t stop after using cannabis, you should probably go to hospital for treatment.
The long version is under the cut, with sources, and I recommend that you read it, whether you fall into one of the mentioned risk categories or not. Education is key, and there's a lot of details about weed that people don't know.
Have fun, stay safe, and make informed decisions. Xx
The long version, in no particular order:
Cannabis often carries a fungus called aspergillus. In most cases, your immune system will overcome the fungus and it wont be an issue for you. In some cases, though, you’ll wind up with fungus in your lungs. This is ESPECIALLY a risk for anyone with a compromised or suppressed immune system. Your body will not be able to fight off the fungus, and you will wind up with fungal growths inside your lungs.
Smoking from a bong carries additional risks of fungal and bacterial exposure. If your bong is not properly cleaned and the water changed out frequently, fungal/bacterial growth in the water can make you quite ill. Clean your bongs. (Or don’t use bongs at all, ideally.)
Cannabis has been found to reduce anxiety in some people who use it. It has also been found to INCREASE anxiety in some who use it. We don’t know yet what causes it to make anxiety better in some people and worse in others, but if you have anxiety, be aware that it may go either way for you. This study even found that it may CREATE anxiety disorders in people who didn’t previously have them.
If you or any of your relatives have known cardiac issues, you should be wary of consuming cannabis. Several studies have found that the risk of angina, ischaemic stroke, and myocardial infarction increases by up to 42% in the first 60 minutes after smoking marijuana.
If you or any of your relatives have a history of psychotic illness, you should be wary of consuming cannabis. Several studies have found a link between cannabis use and the onset of conditions such as schizophrenia, bipolar, and others. The risk is significantly increased if you’re aged between 13 and 19, or use cannabis heavily, or use it for a long time. I personally have several relatives who had lifelong psychiatric conditions triggered because they smoked pot as young adults, which is why I decided years ago to never partake. I have no way of knowing whether I have the same susceptibility as them, but I know I'm at increased risk of it. If I chose to smoke regardless, then at least I would be deciding to do so whilst fully aware of the risks -- putting me in a more fortunate position than them, who had no idea of the risk until it was too late.
There is very little research on how cannabis interacts with other drugs, including prescription drugs – and many of the doctors who prescribe medical cannabis will do so without asking you for a list of current medications, which may be dangerous for you. Some drugs, we know interact badly with cannabis (ambien, Xanax, Zoloft, codeine, some antihistamines, some antivirals, and plenty of othersl drugs). But not all drugs have been explored for reactivity with cannabis. Research your personal medications and see how they interact with cannabis. Here's one link to start you off, but I recommend you look at more than one list. If you can't find any info on your individual medicines and cannabis, then you should be extra cautious of mixing the two.
Cannabinoid hyperemesis syndrome is a condition that causes repeated and severe bouts of vomiting for days on end, and is caused by marijuana use. Some sources say that it only occurs in daily long-term users of cannabis, but I work with someone who knew a teenager who threw up every few hours for three days straight, and he’d only smoked casually a few times with friends. But that was enough to trigger the condition in him, so obviously it's not ONLY long-term users at risk of this.
Cannabis CAN in fact be addictive. People think it’s not, but nearly 10% of people who use it will become addicted. The risk of clinical addiction is increased if you start during childhood or adolescence, and if you use it for an extended period of time.
Got liver issues? Be wary of using cannabis. It’s been found to worsen existing liver conditions and has been repeatedly linked to liver abnormalities.
Obviously there is also, same as cigarettes, the risk of severe damage to your lungs if you smoke weed, especially long-term. It’s even possible that recent strains of THC-heavy cannabis are more damaging to your lungs than cigarette smoke is, but that was told to me verbally by a lung specialist, and thus I do not have a linkable source for it. I do have a source for cannabis inhalation causing pneumothorax, though, which is pockets of air developing between your lungs and your chest-wall, which is both uncomfortable and painful.
Now, FYI, this is a compilation of research, and not a definitive list of all risks associated with marijuana use. I recommend checking out the links, and I recommend doing additional research on anything that may apply to you. Especially if you have a medical condition that's not mentioned above -- research how cannabis has been found to affect that condition.
There are some conditions, like certain kinds of epilepsy, where cannabis use has shown improvements in management of the condition. There's also evidence supporting its use for pain management. This list is just a start point of factors people may not know about marijuana. You should do your own research on top of this, and make informed decisions from there. I am not a doctor; I'm just someone who wants you to make informed decisions.
If you decide to use cannabis after reading this and doing your own research - great! I hope you have fun -- or if you're taking it medicinally, then I hope it helps with whatever you're dealing with. I mean that with full sincerity -- as I said at the start, this is not an anti-weed post. Just because i don't partake in it, doesn't mean I'm opposed to others using it. I just want your decisions to be educated ones, and I hope this post has been helpful in that regard.
Have fun, stay safe, and make informed decisions. Xx

I thought it was brocade or print, because the British have so much of that kind of patterns for interior design.
I lived in England for 6 months on exchange in 2002, and me and the other Danes thought that everyone lived with very, very old wallpaper and furniture.... until we found interior magazines and everything was paisley and victorian print. It's very different from Danish design.
I mean. This is rather recent guidelines for British design:

It's easy to know why the grandma did this.
Her last name has never been part of her, but only a symbol of which man she was connected to. First her father, then husbands. Her personal identity is her first name because it has been hers and unchanged all through life.
So there are no last name that has meaning to her. However a last name is needed for legal reasons, so she chose something meaningless but usable.
I respect neopronouns and even played a bit with them myself back in the day but I also think I need a pronunciation guide for some of them

Out of curiosity and also guilt over my own coffee intake. I wanna ask:
Now I'm not talking about when you're studying and so you drink 3x the usual amount or something like that. This isn't me asking what your record is. I'm talking about the most basic, average day, how many coffees you drink?

Image ID: An XYZ chart labelled "The Knitting and Crochet Preference Chart," made up partially by other memes.
The X axis is marked with the IASIP conspiracy theory/Pepe Silvia meme on one side (which itself is edited with various knitting charts, the Yarnitecture book, and a knit hat on top of Dennis) and a The Incredibles 2 meme on the other edited to say "Yarn is yarn". The axis is labelled "amount of pattern planning."
The Y axis is marked with a basic stockinette knit square on one side and an edit of the "Draw The Rest Of The Fucking Owl" meme with a ornate mitten shown next to very basic instructions instead. The axis is labelled "Ease of pattern construction and/or ability to memorize the pattern overall"
The Z axis is marked by a "How to Hand Wash Clothes" meme on one side and a meme of Super Sonic edited to say "Looks Machine Washable Enough." The axis is labelled "Ease of care of the finished object." End ID
