Please, fill out my interest tracker.    I am not going to interact with you until you do, unless you interact with me first. I'm not trying to be a nuisance; this is in my rules, so if you follow me, you should already know it's a soft requirement for this blog. Meaning, please just do it if you can, but if you absolutely won't, it's also fine if you either 1) send me in chraracter things first, or 2) approach me OOC and plain name a muse you have interest in (or use a blanket statement such as "all muses are fine by me"). If you don't tell which muses you have interest in but send memes to a few, I will interact with you with those muses but refrain from sending any of the rest of my muses your way. If you list muses by messaging me, we risk me forgetting you did, and not interacting. I unfollow people who have been active but haven't filled out my interest tracker (or interacted with me IC, indicated interest OOC...) after several months of being mutuals. I will keep being mutuals on my single muse blogs if that applies, since this is nothing against you as a writer or anything, but just blog specific rules. It's genuinely OK if you only want to interact with one muse, and it's genuinely helpful if you say you are open to all of the muses. You don't have to narrow it down, the purpose is simply me knowing who is free game to send at you instead of worrying about pushing a muse you have a hard no against. And, yes, it's OK if you only want one muse and that muse happens to be a canon male muse. It's OK if you don't want my OCs. etc. I would rather know. I'm truly not trying to be demanding, I am simply trying to interact and communicate with you all!

i don’t know how to tell people that deriving pleasure - sexual pleasure included! - from art* is good actually, and that creating specific kind of art “just” because you find it hot or whatever is just as good a reason as any, and you don’t actually need some “deep and meaningful” reason to create art about things. pleasure - sexual pleasure included - is not the devil, it is not Bad and shameful, and it’s not any less valid of a reason to create something than because you want to, idk, explore the depths of the human consciousness or something

i do enjoy "living weapon" characters but specifically living weapons who did in fact do absolutely horrific things which at least a part of them enjoyed and thought was good and right at the time, and that no amount of not knowing any better or guilt they feel in hindsight will ever make up for. i love living weapons who are "irredeemable", and no it's not their fault that they were made that way or pointed in the directions they were by the hand that wielded them, and yes they are victims, but so were their victims. living weapons who some people will never be able to forgive, but who still wake up every day and try to do better than what's expected of them. a sword that uses its blade to cut wheat to make bread for the people who once lived in fear of its arc falling on their heads.

oh, i feeeeel like i've said this on his pages? i definitely will put it in his dossier/notes tab if it isn't there already, but: izzy will eventually lose his leg in every single verse i have for him. if you see me writing izzy without a prosthetic leg, it's simply earlier in the timeline. seeing as his leg has to be amputated way over halfway through ofmd canon, i incorporate the same to his other verses. in mass effect, generally it'll be some edward-gone-wrong middle of a mission thing, and izzy proving himself to be on the side of the normandy crew by wrangling ed and forcing him to come back to his senses, they grapple, handwavy details, some structure ends up collapsing trapping izzy so that his leg has to be amputated on site. in modern, there's no set default yet, but since he's a security guard, it could be something on the job. but like. rest assured that i'm not erasing izzy's disability in any of my verses; there's going to be story reasons for him ending up with a prosthetic leg in every single verse.

The Collectors. Spending most of his time in the Terminus Systems, Ed knows better than to consider the Collectors a myth, like some Citadel Space people seem to believe. He’s never seen them, himself, but he’s met people who’ve claimed to have encountered their vessels. And, well, he’s certain of the Reapers’ existence, now. Two species, both regarded as myths by a lot of people, working together? He doesn’t have any idea what the Reapers might want, so the Collectors abducting human colonies doesn’t make it any more connected to him, but it seems plausible, either way.
He wrinkles his nose in distaste at the mention of slavers, but smiles, amused, at her telling him she can’t take a piss without it being considered classified. There’s definitely more to this woman than he usually thinks of these soldier-types.
Yet then, the amusement turns into a frown.    ❝ Cerberus? The terrorist organisation? ❞

OK, more surprises. Perhaps it’s not so strange how confidently she’s come to him, a pirate captain with a scary reputation, if she’s working for some sleazy, humanity-first terrorists. Yeah, OK, her objective sounds like something he agrees with, fuck anyone taking colonies of people of any species, fuck the Reapers, but...

Balls might have been putting it mildly, but spine? Katrina had plenty of that in spades. His nonchalance would’ve been worrisome for anyone but her. She’d seen enough in life to not have to worry about one man.
“Don’t ask me. I didn’t give him the damn moniker,” she replied flatly. It was an annoying one, to say the least. Granted, the Illusive Man pissed her off every time he opened his damn mouth, but she wasn’t about to let on just how deeply she despised him. Keeping him at arm’s length was good enough. Edward was more trustworthy than him, and that was saying something. She was no stranger to people who worked on the shadier side of things, though; some of her closest allies had some very shady dealings…
She could tell he was curious, though she kept her gaze level and straightforward. “Sort of,” she admits, wrinkling her nose. “Details are a little more complicated than that, but you could say that. At least, we think it’s related to the Reapers. I’m sure you’ve heard the reports of human colonies disappearing. Newsflash: it’s not slavers. That I can confirm. The Collectors are behind it. And why the hell else would they kidnap entire colonies without a trace? At least slavers, you know what they’re up to.” Was she gauging him? Perhaps. Katrina had no love lost for slavers; she’d shoot them in cold blood without hesitation, most of the time.
“Besides, I’m a Council Spectre. Everything I do is some level of classified. I can’t take a piss without it being considered classified knowledge or a need-to-know basis.” A smirk twitched at the corners of her lips; it was partially true, after all. “But regardless. Cerberus is funding our mission.” Now that was what she needed to gauge. Did he agree with Cerberus, or was he reticent? Most would think she needed the former, but… it was the latter that was more likely to win her trust.
Now came the real question. “So… are you going to help, or should I just arrest you and call it a day? I’m not in the business of wasting my time.”

Garrus is not sure she even hears him. His subvocals emit a stress-chirp, beyond human hearing range. What does one do? It doesn’t feel appropriate to touch her; he’s not sure where their boundaries lie.
What does one do with a visibly distressed close friend? Spirits, that’s what he should have asked himself to begin with.  That is easier.  How is it, that after all this time, even with how easy their camaraderie and banter is, even after all the sincere talks they’ve had, it’s so hard for him to know when to be a friend, when a squad member? This isn’t the Hierarchy, where rules & customs are clear, where one’s place in society is one’s rank. This is a friendship... and this is deep care, such that, for him, has long since ventured beyond friendship alone. The way he grieved her. They way he loves her, from afar yet from right by her side.
❝ Look at me, ❞    he says, voice low and steady. He rests his hands at her face, gently guiding her head.    ❝ I’m right here. ❞    He can’t promise her that it will all be OK.
So he does the only thing he thinks to do; leaning down to meet her, he touches his forehead to hers. The gesture is one of profound intimacy, yet he feels comfortable, natural, offering it; he loves her, yes, but... It is not over the line? He’s wanting to tell her she’s not alone. Turian parents and children do it, turian friends do it; just because he’s in love with her... doesn’t make this inappropriate? No. Of course not. Silly, feeling such a need to justify it to himself. Her skin is cool against his. And oh so alive.

So Lucius isn’t an expert in turian body language, but he’s pretty sure he gets to be pleased with himself at the reaction he’s invoked from the Spectre. ’Sides, how else would he learn than by engaging... not that he’s particularly motivated by turian body language, and the study of such, this very moment. Well, maybe... in a sense...
He waves a hand, more draped over than simply leaning onto a wall.    ❝ Personal, ❞    he says, with an ease.    ❝ You’re making it very hard for me to focus, with those intense eyes, the confidence and purpose you carry yourself with... ❞    Well, Nihlus is receptive, so Lucius decides to go all in, for it. If he could sense any discomfort, he’d stop, but they’ve got some fun little banter under their belts from the past few weeks; he’s just kicking it up a notch... or several...    ❝ Don’t even get me started on the sound of your dual-tones. ❞    He may have had a fantasy or two. Involving himself as the cause of some... different noises from Nihlus.
He is pushing it a bit far, though, so he softens his gaze, speaks with sincerity,    ❝ I don’t mean to make you uncomfortable, though. Just say the word and I’ll never mention it again. ❞    He’s a confident flirt, but he might be missing some cues, here, that he wouldn’t, with a human. He’d rather be careful than risk unsolicited flirtations, no matter how lighthearted; there aren’t many worse feelings than learning you unintentionally made someone uncomfortable by such advances, for Lucius. Beneath the exaggeratedly flamboyant way he carries himself, he cares a whole lot.

A surprised laugh rumbles deep in his chest as he lifts his gaze from the datapad he was reading to look at the human, subconsciously angling his head just enough to show off the length of his fringe while shifting his weight to jut one hip out. A single browplate raises high, his mandibles fluttering in bemusement as he teases, "I wasn't aware humans had a scale of how fair it was to be sexy. Or is it something more personal, Mr. Spriggs?"

She can barely see him, in a cage that looks identical to hers, on the other side of the room.  OK. Not his doing.  ...Doesn’t really look anything like his home, here, anyway.
What the hell.
Her cage is small, like for a dog; she can crouch and move around a little, but it’s too low for her to stand up. The bottom is solid, the top the same type of a grid than the walls. She can think of more people who would want to hurt her due to her associations than she can count, but... the both of them?
