I wouldn’t be an antizionist of the quality I am today without the tireless work of Palestinians in educating, agitating and organizing the masses offline and online. It was through these interactions that I realized the horror of daily life for Palestinians in the colonially occupied territories.
None of what is happening now in terms of resistance could occur without the resilience, clarity and critical thought the Palestinian people promote for their cause.

Moulid of Virgin Mary, Samalut, Minya | Photo credit photojournalist ©TAREK WAJEH
The moulid, or religious festival, is held by the church every year in May to commemorate the holy family’s stay at the site of the monastery near Samalut city.
The celebrations attract an estimated number of two million Christians and Muslims, who travel from all over Egypt to attend the festivities. .

Hello, I am Hala, a mother of a child who has been living in Gaza under bombardment for more than three months. I was forced to leave my home and move to at least 7 areas in search of safety. We live a life devoid of the minimum necessities of life, with the struggle to obtain water, electricity, and food. My three-year-old daughter is unable to provide her with baby formula, Pampers, and even clothes. We have nothing. We left our home with nothing and cannot return to it. For a long period without work or any income, and with a lot of loss of life and money, my house was damaged, as was my husband’s wedding hall and his workplace. As A mother is unable to protect her daughter from hunger and death. I only want safety, and there is no safety in Gaza. We are forced to leave the country under these harsh conditions of displacement, killing and starvation. The image of my child crying for fear of death is still in my mind. I do not want to lose her soul in these massacres. But getting out of Gaza to save her, to keep her alive, requires a lot of money that we do not have. I started this campaign trying to get out of Gaza with my daughter and my husband across the Egyptian border, and if that fails, I will use this money to spend on my family and try to rebuild and compensate for the losses we suffered. We are extremely grateful for any assistance you can provide, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts for considering our appeal for support during this difficult time.

Just donated another $12 from mushroom sticker purchases to Balsam's fundraiser. If you want to donate directly to help her family evacutate Gaza, here is the link. I'll be donating all funds from my mushroom-themed online shop to evacuee fundraisers for the foreseeable future. I've chosen to promote this specific one because my friend, Katie @polystyrenewoman is putting in a lot of time and energy to help her friend Balsam and her family. Please consider donating to this and similar fundrasiers to help Palestinian families escape genocide!

anyway all that to say that if you’re a dropout if you have shit grades if you go to an alt school and are looked down on for it if you’re in your 5th or 6th or whatever year of high school if you’re still getting your GED if you’re taking night classes if you missed out on “universal” high school experiences if you were abused by your peers (because make no mistake, that’s what bullying is) if you were expelled if you were truant every single year if you were homeschooled and got sick of the jokes if you never attended a full week if the whole world treats you like the scum of the earth all because of your high school experience or lackthereof you’re not alone. there’s so many of us that have been beaten down and broken by the school systems we’re subject to and the hostility they breed and the abusive environments they foster. some day we won’t have to be treated like objects of pity or contempt to be swept aside but until then we have each other

i’ve the solution to the ipad child crisis. if your small child wants a device give them an old non-working one and make them use their imagination. my son has an old dead samsung phone and he legitimately makes things up that he ‘found on his phone’ and they’re hilarious. he says there is an app for sending people ice cream for example. he’ll tap the screen an announce he sent his dadaí ice cream. then he’ll hold up the black screen to me and say ‘look at this song i found. it’s called, britney baby one more time’ and then he sings
