for starters....trust the process. Listen...when I do big paintings like this, I like to do a very quick and frankly ugly sketch beneath with chalk pastel, and then throw water on it and spread that out. Then sketch out what I want to focus on and start painting. For this painting I'm using watered down acrylic, basically using it like gouache and watercolor.
So. It takes place during kk3, right after Daniel punches that rando in the club. He's mortified at what he's done, and surrounded by people who are blissfully unaware of his growing terror. SPEAKING of growing terror. In the upper right corner(position may change, but it'll be around upper left) Terry silver will be looming in the back, all shadowy dark and evil. And the piece will be in a red, purple and black pallette. I tried to stick with just reds but..honestly I can't help but throw purple shading in there. It just works lol .
Truth is its a very basic concept, but I really wanted to do it. Especially because I get to put little Easter eggs of my own.
Like here, right behind Daniel to the right of him will be Dutch and Johnny. How'd they get there? Did they notice Daniel? Will they go help him? Who knowwss
Or how the girl in the back near Terry will be Ali, and she's going to be with her group of girlfriends.
Johnny, Dutch and Bobby are all ballet dancer in Miyagi’s dance company
Jimmy is the head costume designer, Tommy *used* to dance with them at their old company, but quit(I decided he’s in nursing school bc I love him and think he would)
Daniel is one of the new musicians brought in for their newest performance, and if he isn’t practicing he’s helping Miyagi with choreography
Some other dancers that will be important later on;
