Did you know in Lord of the Rings... The vast plains of Rohan, the horse-lords' domain, are said to be haunted by the restless spirits of fallen warriors, echoing with the clatter of unseen hooves.

A Thousand Heartbeats
Author: Kiera Cass
Book: 1/1
Genre: romantasy
Summary: The title of Princess may come with luxuries, influence, and power, but Annika’s life is not her own to control as she is forced into a marriage for political gain. On the other side of the continent, Lennox has devoted himself to the Dahrainian army as they prepare to take back their homeland that was stolen from them, and, more importantly, take back the throne. Though on opposing sides, love binds Annika and Lennox together as they must decide if their kingdoms, or love, will be sacrificed.
Review: I loved this book. It has enemies-to-lovers, warring kingdoms, and a sword-wielding princess. Cass’s writing is beautiful, poetic, and enchanting. The story is paced perfectly and the relationship between Annika and Lennox blossoms wonderfully as the story unfolds. I also liked that the chapters alternated between Annika’s perspective to Lennox’s; seeing each of their experiences, thoughts, and feelings captivated my attention more. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in fantasy, an enemies-to-lovers trope, and a gorgeous love story.
Rating: 5/5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
