I love being a dragon that protects people. The way I feel my dragonkin side the closer I am, my patients at the hospital, the child I shared my food with, the friends I hold dear to my heart. The serpent curls around its brood—and a dragon can hold its heart as the protector within the entire world.

dragonkin advice from a drakon? Start considering hoards beyond shinies. While I also love shinies, there's so much power and ability in hoarding knowledge. Being a mini expert on a subject is something that'll never fully leave it--essentially, it'll always be yours in your hoard.
It's also Extremely Helpful for doing human student things like memorising.

The most powerful thing to connect to kintypes, in my experience, is to simply get away. Stand outside before the moon, or in fields and orchards, far from human problems and thought. In the silence, for me, allows me to fully immerse myself in the mind of my inhuman self.

Sad and a bit frustrating that most 'nonhuman tips!' posts can be boiled down to 'buy things! buy things! buy things!'. not everyone can or wants to spend money on gear/decor

being an indigenous otherkin is definitely a bit different because in some kins spaces there are still people using their idea of indigenous spirituality as a basis for their spiritual (or psychological) otherkinity and I find it so funny. there is no one single indigenous spirituality and not all of us have animals has heavy components
as pagans say for spiritual otherkin: upg it, find your own meaning and it is so so much more rewarding! we all deserve to understand ourselves on our own terms, not based on falsehoods surrounding the ~ mysterious Indian ~. otherkin is a wonderful experience and I would never rid myself of it <3

One of the best otherkin moment is when animals are more trusting of you because of it. The farm animals inherently trust me more, sometimes more than my boss—partially perhaps due to my temperament, but being a drakon they simply trust me more. Especially the dogs and chickens. It such a beautiful moment to have this bond with life through both the experience of human and otherkin.

Certainly it is a bit depressing how so many otherkin accidentally fall into ecofascism and such because of hating humanity. loathing humans won’t do anything, humans are also an animal species, but also with a unique capacity of altruism and caretaking. A cat does not care that a bird species can go extinct, but humans do, and there is truly something beautiful in humanity. It also alienates us otherkin where our kintypes are actually very close to humanity—drakons are protectors of human houses, pantries, and givers of health. My kintype is bound by humanity yet there is barely any representation for otherkin such as myself.

Dydh da, I'm Morgan (he/him), or Argyroeleon for my drakon-ketos kin. This my otherkin sideblog to muse about drakon-ketos things, otherkin metaphysics, academia, otherkinity, spiritual ecology, and many more things. I hope to expand understanding of myself and others, make otherkin friends, and perhaps provide unique insight to the otherkin community.
My kintype is a drakon-ketos, essentially, the ancient Greco-Mediterranean dragon/sea serpent. While certainly a type of dragonkin, my kintype is a bit different and connected to things such as rot and fresh water compared to the usual medieval-styled dragon.
I'm also Cornish, Slovak, and Maya-Mexican; in real life, a viticulturist, winemaker, and med student. If there is anything I can do to help, send me an ask and I'm open to chat!
