Sometimes I feel stuck. Everyone doing so much around me but I feel like I haven't moved an inch forward. 😕

Calming tranquillity, but freezing. Shivering during my time spent here, fun times with friends. I should've worn an extra vest. Loved the sun poking through the clouds.

Sitting on transit during my temporary weekly commute, seeing all these faces, wondering where are they going, where did they come from. So many stories, so many voices, so little time to tell them.

Happy Monday!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A brief moment in between the rain makes for fascinating colors. Taking a stroll along the pier, I find that I spend a lot of time in my head. Summer came and went so quickly. I'm working on a couple of posts, the themes of which pop up in my life time and time again. Now, ironically, I just need some time to sit down and write them. Hope you all had a wonderful summer and happy Monday to you, too!

Today I feel quite good although it has been pouring outside. Here in Raincouver, our springs are super wet. I do look forward to the end of our rainy spring weather as it would mean spring flowers all around will be in full bloom, and summer buds will start.
Although I had errands to run in the morning, I am still feeling very great. Got some good discounts at the local sports store, returned me $45 dollars, enough to buy three bags of frozen gyozas, not to mention finding $5 on the ground. Talk about winning!

Kimchi ramen with poached egg, Chinese gai lan, pork gyozas, mushrooms and garnished with scallions
I came home with the gyozas and made myself a yummy lunch. Can't wait to dig in with my cup of peppermint green tea! Loved a day like today starting off my weekend. Hope the positive vibes hang around.

I spent a good part of my day looking at art today. I really like art by Afremov because I like how colorful and vibrant the art work is, yet it exudes a relaxing vibe, almost like I'm moseying through town. For a similar reason, I like Aisha Haider's art for the pops of color and the tranquillity of the scenery. And one of my all time favorites, Fanch Ledan, for the color and the geometry that he diligently places in his work. For photographs, I do enjoy macro or forest & stream compositions, along with pier and dock themes. The similarity that I find throughout my preference is that I like tranquility, stillness, calmness. Zooming in on the small details, and I could spend hours appreciating how nature shaped every point, every curve, every speck. Just slowing down time to appreciate the world we live in. That kind of art sure is relaxing to me.

Reflections
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chehalis River, Fraser Valley, B.C.
Night has always been my favorite time of the day ever since I started thinking about which time of day is my favorite. The hustle and bustle of the city retire to their warm welcoming abodes, just to be stirred again the next morning.  In comes the simple stillness and quiet on a backdrop of a night sky. Tonight, seeing the moon play peekaboo behind soft rolling clouds, the rushing river is a constant reminder that time keeps moving forward no matter when or where we are.  What is reflected to me is that we should make the best of our time here and perhaps to take a risk that stands before us without looking back, for if we do not, time will move forward but we will stand still.

My new teacup perfect for those quiet afternoon moments where I can savour the different flavours of tea while appreciating the passing of time. Our lives are so short. I want to cherish every moment, no matter how uneventful they may be because this is my experience in my short time here. Sometimes peace and calm are blessings in disguise.

Saturday stroll. And wine haul.
Today was a relaxing day in total contradiction to the way things worked out yesterday because I was absolved of all my responsibilities for a short 6 hour of time. These two days almost feels like polar opposites.
Tumblr media
Because the weather let up a bit, I was able to take a walk along the pier, and visit my favorite wine store.

Wine haul = great nights for the next three months!
Hoping to maintain this relaxed mood throughout the week, but I don't think it'll keep... 🤞
P.S. J. Lohr cab sauv with dark chocolate is absolutely delectable! Couldn't resist having a pairing tonight.

Trying to understand my inner landscape is like trying to catch the train that never stops.  I am always three steps behind, watching it go forward, and following in its tracks.

March 19, 2021
I finally got around to creating this account.  I made this space so that I can share my thoughts with the universe without my family and friends knowing.  I know that if they read them, they would worry over me.  I am not up for the prying or incessant questions of concern.  I know they care about me, but having to answer to their worried eyes are just another layer of stress to go through.  These “thought storms” in my head are sometimes so lingering that I feel I might actually gain benefit from speaking with a counselor.  But then when do we ever have time for that, right?
Today, I feel dejected and it took a while before my mood lifted.  I don’t know when I started craving more “alone time”.  I think that’s why I prefer cats over dogs.  Cats are, for the most part, silent companions.  I’m finding myself more and more an introverted thinker these days.  I like spending time lost in my thoughts.  If I can sum up my mood right now, it will have to be “Erik Satie - Gymnopedie”; coupled with the light rain pattering outside my glass veranda, I almost feel at ease.
