Y’all know how mad YG was at Love Scenario? YG wasn’t happy for iKON and it showed. Getting any kind of posts about them from him was like pulling teeth. He didn’t want to or didn’t at all. He was happier for his other artist’s weekly music show wins vs iKON’s end of year daesangs. He wasn’t bragging about it because YG couldn’t claim Love Scenario’s success as his own. Because Hanbin made it clear over and over YG rejected the song. It was their win and his loss. And they didn’t thank him either. 

That song beat Big Bang’s Lies’s record. 40+ days at number one. Record-breaking 204 paks. Do you know how long he has been waiting to be like, YG has done it again! But unfortunately, it was iKON. And he couldn’t. All praise went to Hanbin and iKON themselves. All awards went to Hanbin and iKON themselves. YG has a huge ego, he’s obsessed with control and praise and being the best and number one. iKON was number one but it wasn’t because of him. He was losing control over iKON because of Hanbin. YG knows Hanbin’s talented as fuck. He straight up steals his songs and he’s still stealing his music. But if he can’t claim his success as something he did, then what’s the point of him?

so hanbin got his contract terminated for thinking about doing some drugs… meanwhile seungri raped, human trafficked, solicited prostitutes, and distributed / viewed illegally filmed, non consensual porn and got a slap on the wrist? ok. sorry but we trending #FuckThatBitchYG

the fact of the matter is that instead of embracing hanbin and letting him know it’s alright to have a weakness and give in to his darker thoughts during his lowest points in life, yg AND the Korean media chose to spin this up as some sort of tragic fallen hero tale and essentially shun him from the industry. it’s absolutely none of our business to pick apart what he was going through but the man opened up about his depression and dark thoughts on several occasions and yet the media still ignores the hardships of idol lives, esp being in the top 3 and have all these expectations put on you, and they continue to do so with other idols who have been open about mental illness and depressive cycles. and the worst thing is! he didnt buy or do anything to harm himself or others around him! hes been clean! there are so many more relevant things to be worried about and to put on blast, it’s really shameful to see we can’t move past this mental illness shaming already and start treating idols like normal human beings

hanbin literally sacrificed his entire childhood to debut. he was thrown into a survival show where he had to compete against his own friends so win or lose it was shitty because it meant your own friends wouldn’t debut because you did. after losing the first survival show which must have hurt so much, he literally went on to produce and write winner’s debut “empty”. then yg threw him into the deep end and made him compete in ANOTHER survival show except this time he was safe but his friends were not and on top of that he had to train new trainees and then just be expected to drop them if yg wanted to eliminate them. like fuck any kind of relationship he formed with them huh.

FINALLY he gets to debut and yg takes to treating the entire band like trash now. yg had a dinner with blackpink before he did with ikon and even then it was because of how successful love scenario was. can you even imagine sacrificing so much to join a company only for the man in charge to disregard your efforts until you start bringing in serious money? not to mention yg has always demeaned hanbin because hanbin does not give a damn about this man’s opinion so yg takes to shooting him down. the fact that love scenario was only released because yg FORGOT hanbin showed him the song before, it literally shows yg doesn’t care about hanbin’s efforts.

hanbin is the core of ikon. there is no ikon without him.

and the fact that yg is willing to disregard ALL of that because of a CONVERSATION he had 3 years ago is insulting to everything hanbin has done. yg should have defended hanbin and done everything he could to make him stay but he didn’t and now ikon are probably going to be on hiatus for the next 3 years and lee hi’s promotions are left in limbo because who the fuck exactly does yg think is going to perform with her in place of hanbin?

right now, i hope hanbin is with people who love and care for him. people who only want the best for him because reading his ig statement really hurt because he’s so ashamed of something he DIDN’T do because he was in a bad place and no one deserves to feel like that.
