The dichotomy behind the Cancer and Scorpio signs both being based on arthropods but viewed so differently. Both have heavy defensive claws but only the scorpion has its poisonous barb. It’s seen as more dangerous, more unpredictable than the crab; it’s reviled for its offense than the crab is of its defense. Anyways, very interesting how Signless is considered much softer in more ways than just attitude while Mindfang is much ‘sharper’.

there could have been so many mindfang and signless fanfics based around the vibe of Tulio and Miguel. But instead people just infantalise signless all the time like they do with the Mayor like these are two old ass men who are rebellion leaders. Signless could've literally been on a ship (the 1st ship) and ran into Mindfang at some point.

Anyway imagine Signless breaks free from his group because he was being weighed down by being the responsible one, everyone weighing on his visions like a crutch and he just wanted to spend his life experiencing the world, meeting new communities, seeing far off places and if he was going to be on the run why not join a pirate who is also on the run

Yes, more or less. People will call him that exclusively as if it is his name. It is not his name.

A common phrase amongst people who even just respect The Exiles and The Midnight Crew Intermission is "His name is Wayward Vagabond"/"His name is WV", and it's a pretty common observation that when people refer to "Wayward Vagabond" vs. "The Mayor", they are referring to two entirely different characters. (The same applies to "the Alpha Trolls" vs. "The Dancestors". Those are two different character groups, and with similar reasons as to why.)

People who exclusively or nigh exclusively refer to WV as "The Mayor" tend to be viewing him purely from the lens of his dynamic with Dave and Karkat, often turning him into either essentially a child or essentially a dog. In fact, the dog option seems to be quite popular in Kid+Beta Troll-centric Humanstuck/No-SBURB AUs. The Mayor is a cutesy little mute creature with little to no agency or independence that DaveKat can dote on- ignore the overpowering vibes of ableism, that's totally not relevant. Wayward Vagabond is a revolutionary leader and a grown ass man with hobbies, interests, his own independent beliefs, and complex relationships.

There is a difference. His name is Wayward Vagabond.

its always so funny to me when I see Homestuck discord servers put the age requirements of 13 - 25 ages only. I totally get it for comfort reasons but at the same time the homestuck kids were 13 in 2009, making them 26/27 years old right now. Like, not even the canon characters would be able to join a server based on their own webcomic lmfaoo
