Grinning, Jackson nodded “I’m glad to hear that, I’ll see you here tomorrow afternoon then.” As they separated he headed back to the docks where his ship was tethered. He always arose early in the mornings, but Jackson let himself sleep a little while longer knowing his ship didn’t need tending to. Once he was ready to he got ready for the day ahead of him, dressing a little sharper for the occasion.
Due to the weather he dressed a bit lighter, but was happy with the clean up. His usual stubble now cleanly shaved he decided it was time to make his way to the doughnut store. He ended up arriving early, but that didn’t bother him as he got to sneak another doughnut as curious people stared at his unusual height. Once he spotted Sardonyx he smiled at her, having a feeling she could spot him without trouble.
After hours of intensive research, Sardonyx felt somewhat prepared for this “date.” Dressed in a simple cotton tee and shorts, she walks along the pier with a sense of excitement and nervousness. Last night while they ate doughnuts together in the closed shop, Sardonyx had felt easy, as if simply spending time with a friend. This, however, is uncharted territory. ‘Be positive.’ It is what the WikiHow website had instructed for her to do. That would be no problem at all.
Jackson isn’t very hard to pick out from a crowd, and with a smile and wave does she approach the much taller latter. Her heart does something of a kick at his outfit, and suddenly Sardonyx feels under-dressed. This worry doesn’t show plainly on her face however, her dimpled grin on full display.
“Hello, Jackson! Are you ready to explore all of Beach City?”

Attracted to the sound of music, Rainbow Quartz could not help but give into her ever-present curiosity. Investigating along the outskirts of the beach, she listened secretly,jogging and dancing across the sand. Beautiful arcs of sparkling dust flurried about as she strode along, spinning, jumping, and shuffling to the beat of the music. It was too wonderful not to… !
❝ Well, hello there… ❞ Rainbow said as she spotted a gaping entrance along the rock-face. She felt vibrations reverberating from within it, and began to wonder what was inside. Creeping quietly to the cave she peeked around the stone to see… Another Gem!? And not just a normal Gem, it was a Fusion like her… Without another thought she approached her, maintaining her elegant motions. With a smirk, she quickly busts a move and drops down low.
❝ Mind if I join you… ? ❞
✨ ━ ｕｎｉｖｅｒｓｅｍｕｓｅｓ
She danced with abandon, expecting for her company to be nothing more than the music that fills the cave like the thrumming of a beating heart. Eyes closed and arms alighting through the air, Sardonyx loses herself in the thumping bass and Sadie’s soulful lyrics. The presence that fills the cave suddenly is a feeling the fusion feels almost instantly, and quickly does her head turn to meet gazes with the intruder. Perhaps a human gone wayward and wandering, or maybe even Steven himself searching for the entertainer. Never in Sardonyx’s years would she have believed she would be in the acquaintance of another fusion.
It is needless to say she is absolutely gobsmacked. Her eyes follow the fusion and her fluid movements, the way she drops low to the ground with hardly the bat of an eyelash. Glitter fills the air, and if Sardonyx had a heart it would surely be lodged in her throat. Goodness, she has never seen a fusion — let alone a gem as radiant.
A smile touches her lips, all before she falls back into the rhythm she was lost in less than moments before. Her hips roll, a spin sending her coattails fluttering, and she stops before the latter with a low bow and an extended hand.
“Why I don’t mind at all darling,” drawls Sardonyx. Her eyes are as bright and alive as the stars that pepper the night sky. “My only question is if you can keep up!”

So far, so good! Malachite was taking the hang of it. Plus, Sardonyx was being curious about her life, she had some subjects to converse about.
“Living in the sea is fun, but the salt and sea plants tend to stick on my form, so I venture out twice a week to wash myself under a waterfall”
When she asked what dolphins and whales were, she gestured her to come along to the ocean. She disappeared under the surface for a couple minutes, when she returned, she was bending a small portion of water, enough to keep a dolphin inside so she could show the sea mammal without endangering it.
“This is called a dolphin.”
She gasps aloud, her eyes wide with wonder. Never had she seen a creature like this. It looks so delicate, her fingers long to touch. It hasn’t been long since Sardonyx has reformed, there is still so much of the Earth that she is dying to explore!
“Why it’s beautiful...” the fusion seems enraptured by Malachite’s display, marveling as the mammal swims quizzical circles about the watery enclosure. “I have never seen anything like it! Are there lots of those in the ocean?”
Sardonyx has to show some self-restraint and not bulldoze the latter down with too many questions. What is living in the sea like? Does one ever get lonely? Can you converse with the dolphins? How did you become well, yourself?

Watching her react to his remark made his smirk return. “I’m glad to hear you say that sugar, maybe tomorrow when you show me around during daylight we can turn it into a date?“
As he finished his last doughnut for the night he wiped what little frosting was left on his face, then handed her a clean one, or several. "You got a little flour… everywhere, by the way. Though I’ll admit you do look adorable with it.”
A date? Sardonyx had never been on a date before. What were they to do? What is she supposed to wear? So many questions rest on the tip of her tongue, however she is unsure if she should ask. The compliment surely isn’t helping either. Her cheeks glow bright, and Sardonyx can’t help but smile softly behind the doughnut.
“I’ve been known to make quite a few messes,” she laughs good-naturally, tucking a hair behind her ear. “And I would love to go on a date with you, Jackson.”
Hopefully she will have a chance to consult the electronic oracle at the library to answer all of her questions.

Emerald was proud of that. Compliments were always nice. She still didn’t get the whole egg thing, but it got her praise from the other, and that’s all that really mattered. Selfish? Perhaps.
❝ What, never met an Emerald before? ❞
There was an more important question at hand, however. Ever since the other first opened her mouth to speak, Emerald was so intrigued by this gem…gems?Operating as an entirely new, separate person. After Emerald’s brash introduction, perhaps now was the chance to finally question this stranger.
❝ And just who are you? ❞
“Why, I don’t believe I have.” Sardonyx’s expression grows puzzled for a moment. She surely hasn’t met an Emerald before hasn’t she? Then again, it hasn’t been very long since she has been reformed. “I surely would remember a gem as LUSTROUS as you, my dear!”
One of her hands rest on her chest, her body stooping down into a deep bow. “The name is Sardonyx, at your service! I was once only a fusion of the DAZZLING Crystal Gems Pearl and Garnet. However now I have... become myself!” Her thoughtful face brightens with her widening smile.
“It is a rather long story, all that matters is that I hope I have been able to LIFT your spirits!”

❝ –Oh! Okay! Well if you insist...❞ And so, by simply reaching out for the ocean and the wave of a hand, the sea managed to follow her movements perfectly. As if Laci were about to conduct a play of water and grace, creating bigger and smaller waves the likes of a perfectly synchronized dance. That is what she was going for anyway.
❝ What do you think? ❞ She asks while the play continues on in the background.
Needless to say, Sardonyx is positively dazzled. She has no qualms about exclaiming her “ooh”s and “ahh”s for the Lazuli. There are stars in her eyes are she observes the carefully orchestrated performance.
“My stars,” marvels the fusion. She claps two hands together with great glee. “What an AMAZING gift you have! So much grace, you make it look EFFORTLESS!”
She removes her shades, honeyed brown pools finding the sunlight. “What is your name, darling? I don’t think I’ve seen you around before. Surely I would remember a face like yours!”
