Everything Mari is good at, Mari shows off. Everything she's bad at, she hides. The fact she has absolutely negative rizz? Hidden. Probably. It's obvious though. I'd say dancing, but more street dancing and the like, I think she's perfect with ballroom dancing but if she had to dance a style she's not as practiced in she's more likely to fumble in front of people. That urge to be perfect really gets into her head and she overthinks, when normally dancing ballroom is something that's like breathing to her. The only exception is DDR, where she will annihilate everyone and their grandma in private or public.

When she played volleyball, she had a similar issue, where if she got too into her head or someone else did, the pressure would just get to her. But now she just coaches a team of bored single mothers who do it as a hobby with no pressure which is better for her mentally but blows her overly competitive little mind.

She has a useless law degree, she won't break any laws that will get her into serious trouble.

Mari reads a lot of sappy romance, deep drama and josei manga, she's a sucker for angst with a happy ending and historical romances, weirdly enough. To protect her reputation, she tends to steal the dust covers off her brother's crime novels and horror stories and puts them over whatever she's reading, so a bystander has definitely seen her shed a tear at what they assumed was The Exorcist on the train before.

Mari is pretty serious but she likes to fuck with people by pretending she's a tourist. Definitely the type to pretend she doesn't understand what someone is saying and then turning around and responding to them in their native language last minute, especially if they've been talking shit.

I am surprisingly nice to Mari, apart from the fact that she's always doomed to never be perfect because what she wants is unattainable and she's only human. Because I first played her when she was in high school, I think a lot of her bad stories were just teen drama things, but they meant a lot to her because her friends meant a lot to her, I did have an AU where she was older and got injured so she couldn't play volleyball or dance anymore but then I revamped her and liked the idea of her being a dance instructor with a useless law degree too much oops.

I'd say I don't need to do a lot story-wise, because Mari is her own worst enemy and tends to accidentally sabotage things when they're going well for her because deep down she doesn't believe that she deserves nice things.
