STP Tarplastic is a cold applied bituminous caulking compound with mineral fillers in a volatile solvent to retain its plasticity. It is available in a putty form. Pypkote 4 mm is a Pipeline Corrosion Resistant Tape conforming to IS 10221 Appendix B specification. It comprises of a Tar based Polymeric mix supported on a fabric of high tensile strength Fibreglass. The Polymeric mix is specially manufactured to have properties of a high softening point, high penetration, and high resistance to aging. Tape is terminated on both exteriors by thermofusible HMHDPE Film which aids in the installation process.

Over weld joints, the tape is applied after the necessary welding and testing of the joints are completed. The procedure for the application of tape is the same as the bare pipe procedure. Overlaps on each side of the weld joints are to be 50 mm.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE
1. Substrate Preparation
The area to be restored must be clean, and free of dust, grease, loose particles, etc., especially at its perimeter. It must also be free of standing water. In case the damage exceeds a depth of 10 cm, it is recommended that sand and gravel should be spread and thoroughly compacted.
2. Application
• Overlapping Joints in Asbestos / GI Sheets/ metal joints – Cleaning with wire brush, Then application of Tarco Plast into the overlapping joints with knife and spatula.
• Minor cracks / gaps in terraced roofs – Widen the crack in V section, Clean with a wire brush, and Apply Tarco Plast into the crack by hand or trowel.
• Gaps in Tiles – Fully plugging Gaps in tiles due to sagging of battens or any other reason.
