It’s not going to happen. Stop using other manga like Shaman King to give yourself hope, because it isn’t happening. Shaman King had a couple of chapters written after 5 years because the mangaka cared for his fans. He wanted to give them closure. That is not the case with Kubo here.

The crux of the matter is that Kubo does not care about you. He doesn’t care about his fans. He doesn’t care about the masses of IR fans who supported him for 15 years, to whom he owed his success to. He doesn’t care about these people who bought his IR merchandise, voted for Rukia year after year. HE DOESN’T CARE. 

Before Bleach ended, people loved to compare it with Naruto, it was really fucking annoying. I have always said this years before Bleach ended: Naruto was better than Bleach. I am happy to be conclusively proven right with this garbage finale. Kishimoto was at least upfront about his intentions. He always had been. There was a volume cover of Naruto and Hinata holding hands. There were color spreads of Sakura riding a horse with Sasuke. Naruto never acted like he couldn’t survive without Sakura. Naruto fixed all his problems HIMSELF. He never needed Sakura to give him powers, to return him to his positive form, NEVER whined when she loved someone else and was not around him. Most of all, Kishimoto resolved most of his plot holes and gave closure to many characters. Just how many closures did Bleach characters get from Kubo? I’m not a fan of Kishimoto’s writing of romance but at least where a shounen story is concerned, he didn’t sacrifice his entire cast just to give Hinata the boy she wanted. Kubo on the other hand, did exactly that.

And when Naruto ended, Kishimoto gave a proper message to his fans. He at least provided a full interview, sharing his thoughts, thanking his fans for the long-time support. Kubo???? When Bleach ended, what did he say? 

“I finally finished Bleach. Thanks to those who read it.” 

He started this short note talking about HIMSELF, not his fans. He didn’t even thank people who supported him for 15 years. It was just “those who read it”. That small “thanks” was such an obligatory tripe, kicked to the end of the sentence like an afterthought. There was no interview, he didn’t want to explain himself. This is the same person who whined about the dwindling amount of fanmails. His mails dwindled for good reason. I have never come across a mangaka who whines about this in the open, begging for more fanmails to be written to him. This is a petty, vain person who is all about himself. He loves the camera, he’s always going to hair salons, changing hairstyles, wearing blings. You think he cares about you enough to do a rewrite? 

Before Blech ended, I had a small hope that maybe he wouldn’t throw away 15 years of work, because he had so many fans. Most of them were IchiRuki fans. Shippers or not, most people saw IchiRuki, because this is what he had written. Regardless of what Orgs said about them having read the manga right - their fanbase is so hilariously small that if they had been what they claimed as being right all along - Kubo has done a terrible job at convincing the majority of his intentions.

The finale proved that he is someone who doesn’t care about how others perceived his story, he doesn’t like people criticising him even with the best intentions. He liked all your tweets about IchiRuki on twitter, so what? He did that so that you could continue to support him blindly until he finished you off. The lack of interview, zero message to fans, he did it knowingly and you still expect a rewrite? Worse, you actually believe he did this to “spite” Weekly Shounen Jump? He’s not doing this to spite them. If, in the very, very tiny, remote possibility that he did, he still didn’t care about you. He sacrificed YOU. Your love, your energy, your $$$MONEY$$$ so he could roll in the rest of the royalties he had gotten from sales, while he went against the “BIG BAD GREEDY CORPORATION”. You really believed this? That they “exploited” him? He was a contracted mangaka. When he signed his contract, he agreed to the terms of employment. Bleach was not the first series he worked on with Jump. He tried twice to get into Jump and he worked on Zombie Powder with them before it was canceled. He had 73 volumes with them. You really think one final volume that cost 420 yen (USD 4) could hurt Jump? REALLLY? You really think Jump is relying on Kubo alone for their revenue???? Stop assuming he is some kind of dark hero.

Wake up the fuck up and stop annoying everyone with your stupid whinage in our inboxes. There are more than 1000001 manga series out there, and you want to cling onto this piece of trash.

They are BOTH protagonists, to the two different worlds we explore in the series.

Their bond doesn’t compare at all to main character/rival BROTPs or tropes because they do not fit

They are equals and to treat Rukia as any lesser than Ichigo is disrespectful to her character and ignorant of the series structure and Kubo’s own word.

She didn’t say, “You, renji, go become a shinigami.” She said, “WE.” “WE SHOULD become shinigamis.”  Doing something for yourself in that kind of situation is the kind of strength to be admired for. 

You keep saying rukia never did anything for herself - you keep saying she is this 100% selfless person - i’m sorry, rukia is selfless but she isn’t a saint. to you, the investment in “ichiruki” itself is “bigger” than your investment and dedication to the individual characters of ichigo and rukia. I see that kind of mindset in your posts. However in the story, both ichigo and rukia’s characters AND ichiruki are non-separable. Ichigo’s as a character, rukia’s character and ichiruki as a ship - these 3 things are not independent. 

you all are acting like children and you’d rather have everything go to hell than face an unfavourable outcome. it’s not a lot different than boys who would rather the girls they love die rather than have them end up with other men, or girls who would rather the boys they love be gay, if they dont return their love.

they’re already the most important person in each other’s life. a romantic end is likely, but in the event it is not, xxxhime could never change their love for each other. she can’t change how important they are to each other. i repeat, they are already each other’s most important person. Ichigo’s poem is for rukia alone. ih fans have NO such poems dedicated to them, AT ALL. every new year, ichigo visits rukia in ss. he spends time with rukia, not xxxhime. xxxhime’s love is so painfully unrequited  many times it was reiterated that rukia is far more important to ichigo than xxxhime. they dont even have a single colour spread dedicated to them in all 15 years.
