i was ringing up a winter hat for a man the other day and i said “oh, it’s so cute! i love the pom-pom on the top.” and he smiled and agreed and a few seconds later he picked the hat out of the bag and said “you called this a pom-pom?” and i said yes, that’s what i call them, and he explained that he was still learning english before he touched the hat again and said “pom-pom“ in a fascinated voice

:O no way! You're lactose intolerant! I have a friend who is as well and would someday like to gain, do you have any tips?
almond milk is the bomb! my favorite is unsweetened vanilla
oreos are completely dairy free!
you can make a thick creamy sauce like alfredo sauce or even vegan nacho cheese by boiling cashews then pureeing them with the seasonings u want! (look up vegan alfredo sauce recipes and also vegan nacho cheese – the nacho cheese you’ll need nutritional yeast to give it that cheesy flavor)
you can use lactaids but dont rely on them, their magic isnt bulletproof
pesto pastas instead of cream based ones (or when u dont want to go thru the effort of cashew based alfredo)
almond milk smoothies with lots of fruit for good nutrition! maybe gainer powder but check to see if it has milk in it. honestly check EVERYTHING to see if it has milk in it cuz ive been burned before
honestly just look up tons of vegan recipes and take each with a grain of salt and modify them in whatever way you choose
taco bell is really good about substituting cheese for anything else u might like on ur meals (rice/beans etc)
take calcium supplements and vitamin B supplements if need be. if your body isn’t getting the nutrition it needs its gonna be harder to persuade it to put on weight
also for cooking cashew milk is thicker than almond so u can substitute that for regular milk, especially in baking
the darker the chocolate the lesser the milk
aaaaand honestly my best piece of advice is experiment a lot! i think cooking is super important in this instant, as fast food is easy but not always as safe or flexible as making the food yourself
and maybe also check out pintrest for good vegan recipes and dairy free conversion charts! pintrest has honestly saved my life recipe wise
