Made myself mad so here's a reminder: thought crime isn't real.
You are not comparable to real life abusers if you enjoy dark fiction or "problematic" relationships. You are not committing a crime by enjoying age gaps and underagexadult ships. You are not hurting a single soul by doing whatever you want with fictional characters.
They are not real. They are cut-out dolls and some people prefer to burn their toys. You're okay.

not to be radical or whatever, but i think that maybe calling women and queer people “pedophiles” for fanfiction is actually not the activism you think it is

Wait until this person finds out that most adult tv shows have shit in them that would get ppl sent to prison if it was real. Family Guy. BoJack Horsemen. FUCKING BIG MOUTH. All of that's ok cuz its "humor" but the minutes its not in a humorous sense its suddenly disgusting. Like come tf on...

"the normalization of proships is the reason why fandom is dying"
No, fandom is dying because you are bullying others for what they like.
Bingo.

The “oh I could definitely write this fanfic in under 5000 words and it really wouldn’t take me that long” voice in your head is actually the devil speaking

yeah sex is cool I guess
but have you ever had someone leave a comment with a paragraph-long review of your fanfic containing genuine praise, thorough criticism, and an in-depth analysis of all the lore hints you dropped that you spent ages intricately crafting

They're not here for mature debate. They're here to pass moral judgment from atop their high horse.
'Proshitters DNI'
'At least I'm not Proshit'
'You're a Proshitter, opinion discarded ❤️"
My brother in Christ, are you eight years old and just learned how to swear from your classmates? Use the damn term if you want to convince me you're here for an actual mature debate.

this quote from hbomberguy’s plagiarism video really resonated with me:
“creative people have trouble recognising their skills as skills, because eventually they feel like second nature. […] this stuff really is valuable. if it wasn’t, people wouldn’t be stealing it. creativity doesn’t feel special or unique until you realise people have to plagiarise it”
your craft is and always will be valuable, please never let anyone make you doubt that

Whenever people try to tell me to ship "moral ships" I like to think about how inherently immoral it is to flirt with service workers at coffee shops where they're obliged to be nice to you so... many coffee shop AUs are like. Immoral. But given that they are a fantasy where this is instant romance without the fear of trapping a service worker in an uncomfortable situation that's tantamount to workplace sexual harassment, I enjoy the cutesy coffee shop AUs immensely.
And that's basically my attitude towards all fantasy. There's lots of things I enjoy in fantasy that wouldn't work IRL. Enemies to lovers. Sudden kisses. Miscommunications in relationships. Codependency. Fight sluts who physically assault each other while emotionally connecting.
Once you start ascribing your morals to the fiction you consume, you tend to miss the issues in even the most innocuous, innocent seeming scenarios. It's easy to judge other people's fictional enjoyment until someone points out your innocent coffee shop AU is romanticised workplace harassment.
But it's all fiction. It's a fantasy. That's why it's fine.
A lack of education around things like consent, healthy relationships, self respect and respect of others, bodily autonomy, etc, has made people think they can rely only on fiction to tell them what right - but that's dangerous. And unsustainable.

my parents have no issue with my art being explicit or sexual and are very supportive and this is great. the issue is they’re too supportive. my dad will whip out his phone and show neighbors we barely know paintings of naked trans men on their knees and be like ^_^ im so proud of my son!!!

This is like. Mind boggling dude. I thought this was a joke post from a proshipper but they’re dead serious. “Keep killing cringe culture!” And “Proshippers are terrible people.” are two statements that don’t belong in the same post lmao
