"Man, it's pretty quiet here nowadays."

-- 02. Field trip maybe?
"Ciao, class. I know that things have been quiet in class as of late. Combined with the recent events that's been happening in the school, I hope it didn't affect your raring to go minds in any way!"
Somehow, Maya had doubted that deep down, but she didn't let that show in her face. Besides, she had a current idea in mind...
Tumblr media
"So! With our current lesson turning into the different genres of journalism, I have a few ideas in mind for you guys just to make things a bit different around here."
With that, Maya reveled the small list of bullet points of ideas on the board for the students to see. It was small because... honestly, it was all that Maya could think of, and considering how long the class has been going, it shouldn't be too early for this.
"Since newspapers is one of the genres of journalism, I thought that it might be a good idea to take a tour of a newspaper press and offices. And no, this is not excluded to our very own Tancho Times, though you can ask the paper in your own time if you wished," That is,  if Clive and the others didn't mind. It was pretty busy over there after all.
"What I mean is, I might ask to schedule a field trip in the future. And the options don't have to be a newspaper office! We can also go to broadcasting buildings as well, since live news media is also a different genre. Don't you think this might be a good idea?"
Tumblr media
"Keep a look for any dates that I'll set up if this thing goes through. In the meantime, we'll keep working on our lesson plans and upcoming homework!"

Interesting to note. Some people were like that when they switch jobs, she supposed, but it was good to hear that from someone else's experience. Maya jot the extra parts down before thinking about the next question she would ask. This was actually shaping up to be real good!
Maya looked up for a moment, noticed the pack of cigarettes in Six's hand. Ah, so he was a smoker. Not a problem. "No, I don't mind! Go on ahead!" Maya assured. She really didn't mind people smoking around her. She was friends with Baofu, after all.
Tumblr media
As Six took a drag, Maya began to think of the third question that she wanted to ask. "Since the Security Team is pretty active, no students have gotten caught after curfew yet, have they?" she then asked. She probably doubts that in her mind, but it wouldn't hurt to ask.
— interview with a courier.
“Hah. You could say that.” The man chuckled at the ‘popularity’ comment in a rather grim manner. As he scratched his chin, he thought about what she had meant by popular. Sure, some of his more lewd comments had spread like wildfire—in a fashion that horrified and irked Six to no end—but he wasn’t really ‘popular’, at least not in his personal opinion.
“At times, yes. I’m more used to more… intimate working conditions. Smaller groups of people. I’m not saying that I haven’t worked in the private security business before, but I’ve definitely not worked with anything on this scale.” Six shrugged, before continuing.
“In my previous experiences, I’ve never had to work with so many. It’s definitely a challenge I’ll need to tackle, as a professional. So, to sum it up, yes it’s rather difficult, but I certainly believe it’s a challenge that I can overcome.”
Suddenly, the Courier’s lungs itched for nicotine. He instinctively reached for a pack… and stopped himself. “Would you mind if I…?” Pulling out the pack of filtered cigarettes, he shook them a little. This interview was being done by her invitation, so it paid to be polite, at the very least.”

Well... THIS wasn't what the journalist was expecting at all!
Maya woke up in a bit of a groggy state, since the night before she was making lessons and editing for the paper, and she was hitting in pretty late. 'Maybe a little sleep would be good for me. Can't be too tired in the morning!' she thought before going to bed. When she woke up the next morning, Maya felt as if she was hit by a truck.
"Agh, man I'm worn out..." she grumbled as she stretched her arms out. But then, she froze for a moment. "Huh... strange, did I catch a cold?" Maya spoke, lightly touching her throat. She didn't recognized her voice at all. And she wasn't really that skinny and her hands were bigger than normal.
And uh... what was found between her legs shouldn't be there.
"What the--" she started, before flying to the nearest mirror she could find. "Wait a minute, I'm a guy?! How did this happen?" she cried, running her hands through her new red locks. Maya took a step back in the mirror, to check herself... well, himself out fully. To be honest, she didn't look too bad for a guy. She didn't expect herself to be a redhead though. "You know, I thought I'd the same hair color as a guy." she said, tapping her chin in thought.
But never mind that! She's a guy. How was she going to explain that to her students?! And... crap, she might've overslept a bit. So, in her rushed frenzy,Maya got on her unzipped jacket (which felt a little snug now) and her few pairs of pants. Since she was a guy now, she couldn't exactly wear her skirts right now. They'd stretch!
Maya stepped out of her dorm room with her bag, being as nonchalant as she could. If anyone's going be running around as a new... guy, then she was going to look cool doing it! At least, that's what Maya thought when she was about to exit the building, she saw a woman's face just ahead of her.
Her face.
So did that mean, that Maya suddenly switched bodies with someone? "H-Hey! Hey! You! Wait a minute!" Maya cried in her new voice, running after her body. No, that wasn't weird at all. Nope.
Well isn't this a turn of events.
It’s only been a few days since Landon had joined the faculty at this school, and he had already meet so many new people! So many fascinating, beautiful, ( and not-so-beautiful.) people. The ex-bartender awoke with a good mood, streching and gave a nice longfeminine yawn.
Wait, what? F-Feminine? That couldn’t be right..
Landon looked down at his hands. They were pale, and small..definitely not his own. Immidetialy his unfamiliar hands flew to his chest and—Oh. Those weren’t supposed to be there.
Finally, he flew himself to a nearby mirror, gaping at his new appearence. Landon had SOME how transformed into a..a..woman! An attractive woman at that. He snirked. Oh but he really didn’t have time to be laughing—he had a class to teach, and Landon was almost sure his students would notice their previously male teachers miraculous transformation!
With a sigh, the once-red head changed into his normal—now somewhat baggy attire, and headed out of his dorm room. Although he didn’t know this face, he must have recognized it somewhere, and if someone’s running around with HIS body, well. That could be troublesome.

Maya had an recorder to capture the whole interview set in the middle of the table, so that it would be easier for the team over at the newspaper to jot it down on paper and then print it. That was one of the things that she used to do with the editing team over at Coolest. It was pretty effective in it's own right. Of course, Maya had to jot down the important details that Six answered so that she had a written copy. Just in case she had missed or misheard anything.
That being said, what he had answered sounded pretty sound. As expected of the Security Head around here.
Tumblr media
"I'm sure the whole school will be pulling for your team's efforts. They seem pretty well-known around the campus, for the most part." she started. According to Clive, Six was pretty popular among the students on campus, so most people should probably know who he was. But Maya wasn't going to get to the popular question just yet. She still had a few professional questions up her sleeve.
"Speaking of the team, the Security Force is one of the biggest departments on campus. If you don't mind me asking, is it difficult to manage so many members of Security?" she then asked, moving on to the next question.
— interview with a courier.
“Miss Amano.” Six greeted the woman as he made his way to their meeting spot, promptly sitting down in the comfy chair. The man was receptive to the idea of an interview—while he didn’t like being ‘in the spotlight’, maybe he could use it to make his job a bit easier.
The former mercenary had dressed up for the interview—wearing a simple suit and tie. For once he tried to make himself look somewhat respectable, but the man obviously looked uncomfortable. He felt like he was overly constrained by the jacket, not to mention the pants… Six pushed the thought aside.
“Safety?” The man paused as Maya asked her first question. It was kinda obvious they’d ask him about that—he was the head of security at this little school—but still, the Courier had to take a moment to think about his answer.
“I like to think that we have a school full of some eccentric characters. Ergo, we have strange problems.” Eccentric was one way to put it. “The security department’s been given a… unique challenge—making sure that such a community is safe and secure. It hasn’t been easy.” What with the zombies and all. Six was still wondering what the hell that had been all about.
“Even with our large staff of dedicated security personnel, I feel that we could be doing a lot more for the people working and studying here.” He was taking a not-so-subtle jab at his team. Save for three or so members of the school’s security department, Six wasn’t so pleased with them in general. Something had to be done about that.
“But I’m confident that this is just because we’re all new here—if we get to know one other and all that jazz, I can coordinate our efforts and keep this school an orderly and safe workplace, and of course, a school.”

Maya briefly closed her eyes as she recalled those moments while nodding in agreement. "Haha, let's be happy that we were able to cover each other." she responded with a laugh. Sticking with Minato at the time was the right choice concerning the situation. Maya knew she had a few close calls being bitten, and Minato was the one that bailed her out of it. She made sure to do the same for him when things were getting too close for comfort. All in all, they did make a a good makeshift team, despite not really knowing each other.
It was almost like, in a strange way, teaming up with Tatsuya again. Almost.
Tumblr media
An amusement park? Come to think of it, Maya hasn't been to one in a long while. And it was a good way to check out parts of the area around the school that she hasn't been to yet. Plus, Minato's smiling face had said it all. "My, aren't you the little charmer? You'd make the girls melt with that look." she mused. "But it's a very kind offer, Minato-kun. I accept!" With that, the journalist stood up from her spot in the grass and dusted her skirt off. Of course, she didn't mean right now unless he did, since he was the one who offered.
Then, a thought ran across Maya's mind. A feeling of... nostalgia of some sort that suddenly hit her. "Ah, come to think of it, Minato-kun. You kind of remind me of a good friend of mine back home. I can't exactly put my finger on it, but it's there."
supposed to meet? ( minato and maya )
My, she was just as cheerful as he remembered. The same smile and everything and suddenly the uneasy knot he’d gotten from the normality of everything disappeared. He was glad she remembered him, though was it so easy to forget for real? The cure they’d so desperately fought to recover…by the time the two of them had reached they office thy had only been a moments too late. At least someone had gotten to it at least.
” That’s right, ” Minato replied with his usual tired smile, returning the firm squeeze to her hand, ” It was really crazy around the office, huh? Glad we were able to cover each others backs. Otherwise who knows what would have happened, hm? “
” It’s nice to meet you too Maya-san, ” He added quickly, rubbing the back of his head. Thanks was an understatement. If it hadn’t been for his trusty partner then, who knows what would have happened. More than once she had saved him from getting an infectious bite from the undead and he had, of course, returned the favor but to him it hardly seemed like enough. He felt like he had to thank her another way.
Tumblr media
” No, it’s fine. It seems like everyone has has the same idea actually. ‘Life goes on’, as they say,” Minato paused, scratching his chin before flashing the other a smile to match her own, “If it’s not too much trouble though, I’d like to thank you personally for all you did. I heard there is an amusement park nearby. Would you like to go? It’s the least I can do for saving my life after all.” Oh Minato, such a charmer. But his offer was sincere; with his gaze soft and his expression cheerful. Could anyone really turn down that face?

— interview with a courier.
The issue was getting close, but it wasn't a problem. Maya was happy that she was able to get the interview with Six for the paper. Not to mention that it was her first interview ever since she took the job here at Tancho. The fact that it was for the school newspaper was irrelevant. She was just happy to do her life's work upfront again.
Tumblr media
She picked the time and spot to do the interview, and she was, again, glad that Six was being so cooperative. Maya arrived at the spot early and got everything ready. The first thing that was important was to at least make your interviewees comfortable enough to speak with you, or else nothing was going to get anywhere for either of them. Once Six had arrived, Maya was more than prepared... at least technically.
"Thanks for doing this interview with us, Six! We'll get right on with the interview." she said, offering a seat if he wanted to take it. As of this moment, Maya was in journalist mode. And nothing was going to take her off of it anytime soon.
Tumblr media
"Now, to start us off, you're the current Head of Security in our campus. I want to ask; What are your views for the safety of our faculty and students?" she asked, onto her first question.

Seven Sins
She doesn't dive in to that subject much, but she certainly is aware of it. Though she doesn't say it upfront, Maya believe that everyone's guilty of at least having or doing one of those at some point in life. I'd sort of say, for in-game reasons, there's a little bit of pride in there in Maya's case. But it doesn't really define a person about who's guilty of what, that's just how it goes sometimes.

writing ~
She loves it. Journalism is but another form of writing after all, so Maya naturally has a love and respect for writing and any of its' forms. There's just so much that you could do with it. I'd imagine she'd be one of those people who would love a good read, especially if it was well-written.

Looking down at the paper on her desk, Maya picked it up so that she could read the file on this guy named Six in detail. "The Head of Security around this place, huh..." Seems like a fun guy, at least. He was sure popular with the students at least, even though it was unwanted in his end. In any case, he could be a good person to nab an interview with, what with the questions the students has been asking lately and about the security system.
On top of that, she was free to ask him whatever she wanted. Oh, a few questions are stirring in Maya's mind already.
Tumblr media
She inserted the paper into a file so she could make use of that later. "The Advice column sure is a popular stand in right now!" she said with a laugh. "Anyways, be sure not to overexert yourself. In the meanwhile, I'll see what I can ask this guy Six for our interview."
→ 3. times toiled.
Maya you are godsent he hopes you know that.
Tumblr media
He fetches the file from his folder and places the paper on her desk. “The man’s name is Six, and he’s recently told me about an elder man’s death during copulation. On top of that, it seems he’s become quite the popular man on campus and has garnered a lot of… unwanted attention from many of our students. Of course, you don’t have to address these topics and you can ask him whatever you want.”
He sits back down, chin in hand, arms crossed over his chest. “As for me, I’ll be sorting through a few applications for some positions in the staff. There’s quite a line to be in charge of the advice column, haha.”
Oh man, he is sure glad this woman is as dependable as she is and as nice as she is to drop the subject like that.

A break was all that she needed.
With keeping with with the questions and edits of the paper to making up lessons for her class, it was safe to say that the journalist occupied herself in the school just fine. But, once in a while, a girl deserved a break when she was working hard on the job, and that was exactly what Maya was doing to do. So she took her break in the grassy campus fields.
This place was sure lively, that was for certain. She didn't expect such an eventful place when she accepted this job, such excitement sort of reminded her of her journey with her friends back in Sumaru City. It was only a reminder though, she knew that it wasn't Sumaru. But even so, she really did like this place.
Her break went on as quietly as it could, what with the school recovering from the huge pool party that took place on the weekend. Maya just enjoyed herself until she was approached by a student... a face of which she remembered.
Tumblr media
He was one of the people that she fought with when the zombies attacked. Maya remembered his face clearly. "Yeah, I remember you! You were one of the people who helped me try to find that cure." she said. Smiling brightly, Maya gladly shook the boy's hand in a firm handshake. "Heh, no we didn't. I can't say I blame us, things were pretty crazy. I'm Maya Amano, nice to meet you officially, Minato-kun!"
Brushing herself off from the ground lightly, the journalist kept her smile. "Oh! I don't think I thanked you yet when all of that mess was over. Everyone kinda fell back to the rhythm of things, so thanks for helping me out then." she thanked, feeling that it was the least she could do after meeting and recognizing him.
supposed to meet? ( minato and maya )
With the zombies gone, Minato was tired. He had spent a lot of energy fighting and protecting all those that he could but the losses? Well, some were certainly invetible. He couldn’t help but feel exhausted though. Here he had thought he’d been done with the strange trail of bad luck that seemed the follow him wherever he went. Minato hoped though this wouldn’t lead to a transfer. Again. He liked Tancho…despite its strangeness…
Luckily, as if by magic, the school the next day had healed itself and life continued to move on. Sure the halls seemed only slightly emptier now but everyone else seemed fine. It was good to see that the days were moving on. There however one thing…missing.
Unity.
Tumblr media
After a large scale event such as an attack of the undead, he had expected something of thanks but everything really did look normal. The people he had fought beside hardly glanced at him and that made him uncomfortable. He was much too used to unity after a battle. But that just reminded him more of where he was. This wasn’t Gekkoukan.
Still, going about his day seemed like a challenge for him. More than not his mind was wandering back to the event and the thrill of the fight. Minato realized that he had missed it. The excitement and the rush of battle — he liked it. So when the blue haired boy stumbled into someone, he wasn’t so surprised this time by his actions, but more of who he had stumbled into.
Tumblr media
The black hair, and those kind eyes…he recognized them, “You were…at that battle, weren’t you? ..with those zombies..we helped each other, right?” Minato asked slowly, thoughtfully. Brushing his hair out of his face and standing up slowly, he extended a hand to the familiar woman and smiled gently, “We didn’t really get to properly meet, did we? With all that insanity I mean. ..Minato Arisato, and you are?”

Maya could only shake her head in a bit of amusement. Intelligence is a good sign in a person, but it also could be dangerous depending on how you use it. On top of that, if that guy could wear Clive out like this... poor guy. At least Clive, though his voice is muffled, had a little bit of levity, so it couldn't be all bad.
"Well, in any case about whoever that guy is or whatever it's like, he sure wiped you out if you're this tired in the morning." she said, opening one of the files from her desk. "If you want, I could take some of your load to give you a little leeway. You look like you need it." she offered. It was the least she could do for her tired boss, a little more work was nothing too bad for her.
Maya's ears perked up a bit when Clive mentioned something about an interview for the paper. After getting a little more used to teaching, it'd be good to get back to her basics interviewing someone. "Sure, I don't mind! Who's the guy and what's the subject?" she asked.
→ 3. times toiled.
Tumblr media
“Please, it’s not like that at all…” He knocks his head down on the desktop. His voice is muffled when he speaks, though the tone of amusement is sneaking its way in. “He’s ridiculous, Maya. His intellect serves him well. Now I just wish I could have said he uses it for the better.”
Clive is glad he has someone to talk this out with. If there’s anything he’s learned about keeping emotions in, it’s that doing so can lead to real bad results. Experience is just about the only thing talking here.
He sits up and looks at the paper stuck to his forehead. Maybe now would be a good time for him to dodge any more of the subject. “I was wondering… would you like to take on an interview for the next issue?”

A bit late, but it's been a crazy week in general around here. And you just got here a week ago, right? So it's okay since you weren't around in full. Full credit given.
Make sure you hand in the next one on time, okay?
[journalism assignment] forgotten interview
Aoko had always been a top student, smart and diligent enough to get best grades. Instances of her forgetting to do homework could be considered a miracle, but there she was, one week too late with her journalism assignment. Annoyed at herself, she asked some random girl for an interview.
 “You look like a student. What’s your name… ”
“Canaan.”
Tumblr media
“… and what brought you to Tancho Academy?”
Tumblr media
“I heard from my friend that school’s fun, so I decided to try it out.”
And that was it - such a plain, typical answer, Aoko could bet the girl was lying. After writing all of it down, she sighed heavily and went to Miss Amano’s office, hoping it would turn out okay somehow.
