I know this type of post can get a bit messy with comparison, rivalry, politics and whatever, but please, I really just want to express my most sincere LOVE here 🥰
Because I'm falling for Stellar Blade the same way I did for Horizon years ago 😍
I mean, the chances of me liking both games were always high because it's sci-fi and that's my weakness. Just throw some sci-fi tropes into any story and you'll see me with heart eyes regardless of anything 😂
But what really surprised me the most was how attached I became to these characters as well.
Look, I'm a simple girl, if I see an orphan girl, traumatized and a body count, I just want to adopt her and protect her, okay 😅
And look at the parallels. How not to fall in love with them?
It's this whole thing about both Aloy and Eve losing their mentors at the beginning of their journey and that being an additional motivation for their initial mission.
Then explore the post-apocalyptic world and slowly put together what destroyed the civilization in the first place.
And later discovering their part in "the master plan" to save humanity.
It's just a good, interesting, well thought out sci-fi story and I love that kind of thing 😍
Even the moment near the end when Aloy and Eve get the chance to avenge Rost and Tachy's deaths gave me a familiar feeling. In both games, this was the moment I realized their character development and how far they had come.
Like, when I saw Aloy kill Helis, my first thought was "Wow, that's not that girl who almost died on the mountain anymore" just like Eve wasn't the same person who almost died on that beach.
Both grew so much during the game with everything they learned and experienced and, in their own way, became these determined women who know exactly who they are and what they want.
I'm amazed that two games with such different vibes make me feel similar feelings.
I love both characters so much and the sci-fi tropes complement their development in the best way 🥰
