a gentle reminder that life is about making every day as meaningful and comforting as you can, it’s not about comparing yourself to people or needing to be perfect. it’s good to push yourself to be better but perfectionism can be harmful if you overdo it. you don’t have to hate yourself or constantly criticize your progress or appearance to force yourself to become who you hope to be. it’s good to be ambitious but not everyone works best under self-imposed strictness, harsh criticism and pressure. sometimes it takes kindness, honesty and patience towards yourself, rather than having a harsh inner voice that has a pretense of being realistic and helpful. the less you listen to it, the quieter it will become. you can be realistic and still treat yourself gently and with patience. life can be a lot more bearable when you’re on your own side.

This scene was beautiful.

I l o v e when characters bond over music and art in general, because sharing your favourite things with someone else creates a connection. Saying “this is my favourite song!”, or book, or painting, or movie, is like saying “here, this is a small piece of me”.

It's intimate, it's sweet, it's real.

We know from the beginning that Sarawat has a crush on Tine – he's not exactly subtle about it – but he plays it cool, even though has no idea how to deal with it. He looks so calm and collected, but in reality he's super awkward and doesn't know what to do, and that's what makes him interesting, that's what makes me love him: he can be smooth, he can be an asshole, he can act like he doesn't care, but he's just... trying?

Because he does care. Because he wants this thing to happen, so he's learning. He asks Tine what he should do, wants to know what to say, listens to him, and plays one of his favourite songs because “here, this is a small piece of you, and I find it beautiful”.

And I find it beautiful, too.
