It's been about a year and a half since Chester Bennington of Linkin Park passed away, which means it has been about a year and a half since I created @hashtagicare, a platform that I hoped would bring relief, hope, kindness, acceptance, and so much more to those battling depression, bipolar, anxiety, etc. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The past 6+ months I took a step back from #icare and have been pretty quiet publicly, which has been hard, but necessary. Hard, mainly because I do know that my posts/videos/etc did help some people. But necessary so that I could get laser focused to put myself in a position to take #icare to a higher level. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Today I am happy to announce that I am finally pulling the trigger on forming a non-profit for #icare, and will have an amazing team by my side working to reduce the stigmas surrounding mental health via social media awareness campaigns, and expanding from there. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #icare truly turned my life around in ways I will never be able to fully explain, and it is beyond amazing to be able to do some good in the mental health realm with some amazing people. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Plenty more info to come in the next few days/weeks. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #HappyBirthdayChester #MakeChesterProud #icare #wellido https://ift.tt/2U12Ett

Woah - 35! First things first, a big thank you to everyone for all of the birthday wishes today. I’ve been reading and responding to them as they trickle in, and they truly make me smile. Special shoutout to @emilybainfrommaine and Kristina for surprising me today by fueling my caffeine and protein addictions haha! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Just got back from a nice dinner date with my always stunningly beautiful & amazing wifey Kyley @kyleyflynn , and we even saw my daughter Pearl with her Nana while we were out which was awesome! Got home and had Derek and Max show me cool cards they made me (Derek drew Victor Oladipo and Reggie Miller...aka him and me lol) and they sang the cutest version of Happy Birthday for me. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Pretty awesome day with so many amazing people to be grateful for. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ As I find new success in this crazy life, I can’t help but look back at how everything over the past 35 years has led me exactly to where I needed to be, ESPECIALLY the difficult times. Wouldn’t be where I am today without the difficult times. That’s the biggest chunk of knowledge I’ve gained over the years...don’t let the difficult times keep you stuck in the mud for a life time. Put your head down and press forward with everything you’ve got. I promise you it’s worth it!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I spent a lot of time today listening to Chester and Linkin Park and reflecting heavily on #icare, and while I know I’ve been publicly quiet on that front over the past few months...understand that man oh man I’ve been quiet out of necessity because I’ve been busting my ass growing a business that is putting me in a position to crazy amounts of good for that community.
