This is my dog. He name is indie, as in, "we named the dog Indiana". She's my first dog ever and I'm a cat person.
The very first photo is her smiling. She only really does this at the park with her mom, and if I'm very lucky when looks at me. But the other photos in this mimi series show her other faces after running around on a warm day. She has this one face where I know she's so excited and happy that we're both here for her. She's also especially anxious and a reactive dog, so being able to see those pure joy moments, make getting this on camera incredibly special.
You're correct tho. Dogs do be smiling out here and I have proof.
Always hate when people try to tell me dogs don't smile. True that a dog baring their teeth isn't a happy dog, but a happy dog has mildly squinty eyes and a soft droop to their jaw such that their mouth is slightly open in a dopey 'grin'. Dogs don't smile by BARING ALL OF THEIR TEETH but then if a human did that it wouldn't be a reassuring gesture, either.
