Fossil Dawn Horse (Protorohippus venticolus, Early Eocene) - Fossil Lake, Kemmerer, Wyoming
One of two horse skeletons discovered in Wyoming’s Green River Formation. The five fish embedded in the slab are a testament to the rare circumstances that led to this land animal being buried in the middle of Fossil Lake. The details of this intriguing occurrence remain a mystery. One suggestion is that the horse was fleeing a predator and it made its way to shallow water, but was swept away into to the middle of the lake where it eventually drowned.
Protorohippus venticolus is the most primitive species of the Equidae family. This diminutive horse was only 20 inches (50 cm) tall at the shoulders and about two feet (60 cm) long as an adult. Interestingly, it had four padded hoofed toes on its front legs and 3 on its long hind legs. Its grinding teeth were well-suited to a diet of fruit and leaves, which were abundant in the subtropical climate that it inhabited.
Exercises for all the homies who want to have a long career drawing.
The true problem with being an artist and drawing all day (as I wanted my whole life) is that human backs are not designed to hold that position, so it is very common for artists and designers to have really stiff shoulder blades, creating a chain of muscle strain towards the arm AND the back… and a lot of pain.
These are some physical exercises for artists and honestly anyone who works at a desk.

Commission for @vindicator04 of a Hross, otter-like warrior poets and one of several Martian sophonts described in C.S. Lewis’s 1938 science fiction novel Out of the Silent Planet.
It’s not a book I had heard of before this (To be honest, I wasn’t familiar with C.S. Lewis’s work outside of Narnia), but but from what I’ve gleaned it features all sorts of interesting speculative worldbuilding. I will certainly be adding it to my reading list!
learned today (after googling it upon seeing the "Sadomasochism Brothers" post) that masochism was named by a psychiatrist who had read Leopold von Sacher-Masoch's erotic writing and was like "I feel safe in concluding that this man had Fucked-Up Freak Sex Disorder, which now until forever will bear his name", while von Sacher-Masoch was still alive. there are accounts of von Sacher-Masoch being like "bro what the fuck" about this
