Working on the next idea, although I enjoyed the process and explored this idea, it didnt quite fufill what the brief required, i think because there were alot of elements competing for attention, whether or not that was intention, Ive gone with the keyword, mass production.  That way I can explore and exhaust ideas around mass production.
My intention for this piece was to display and show my work in an unconventional way, and this is what I ended up with.  I liked that the work wasnt fixed to the wall entirely.

These ideas grew from the drawings of the skulls, I thought what would it look like if I could use mixed media’s, then that expanded to sculpture and 3d.  So far I'm equating this entire process to a brainstorming process where I start from one idea and then explore and expand on them

I'm starting to explore clay and different surfaces, working from idea to idea, exploring the idea before moving to the next idea, exuberating the idea, and exploring and exhausting the ideas at the same time.

This is my starting point for the exuberance brief, using repetition and drawings that were intended to get looser after each one.  Then played with that image in photoshop and wanted to arrange these as if they were displayed in shops.  What came to mind as I was working on these were:  How loose could I get trying to describe the same object, and at what point in the art-making process do I add to the work, or take it in another direction.  I think for this work, I'll keep building to it.

My final moving image, I added a smoke effect in after effects along with dust particles just to move it away from a plain flat moving image.

These were the final composite ideas I wanted to include, these drawings were based on police sketch artists, taking the evidence, or parts of Medusa’s story and drawing them, then taking those drawings to create a creative portrait of Medusa, like a layered portrait, I didn't finish, but I just wanted to show the idea.I was going for, and how I interpret Medusa’s story.

I wanted to explore digital media, so in photoshop this was taking something old, or in this case an image on the internet and re-creating different versions of the one thing.  This was my take on the fake truth re-creating narratives part of the brief.

This is the parallax image with text, from my readings from Jean-Pierre Vernant, I wanted to add that to this, it just come out to fast, I could slow the video down, but on top of really slow rendering times I ditched the idea for something else

I tried to add text to my parallax image, the final result was to fast, I had this idea of how I wanted the text to fade in and out, but Im missing how time or frames work because this is the second time my moving image has come out to fast.  I ditched the idea, and wanted to try and add particles and smoke to the parallax instead

How I wanted my parallax image to work was to make the background scale outward while the foreground image scaled inwards.  I would like to add smoke the foreground for more depth.

I went back into photoshop to get my head around; how parallax images work; watching a few youtube tutorials to get the idea of them, I came up with this version which I like, I want to take this a little further by adding smoke to the foreground just for more depth and added stress.

I'm doing a bit of research into Medusa, just to strengthen my idea, and to add more ideas to my work.  This is an example of the idea I was talking about, using what evidence there is out there to document or draw a re-creation of the events that took place, but in my style or way.
To relate this to the brief I think that this is a re-telling of events, it's like the artist becomes the witness and the result is a visual record or becomes evidence or a witness statement.
I also want to use text in my works, and I'm thinking about using lines of poetry or paragraphs from some of the readings I’m doing:
” What the mask of Gorgo lets you see, when you are bewitched by it, is yourself, yourself in the world beyond, the head clothed in night, the masked face of the invisible that, in the eye of Gorgo, is revealed as the truth about your own face.”  Jean-Pierre Vernant.

I tried to create a moving image in after effects, I like the idea of moving images based on the movies Ghost in the shell and Bladerunner 2049, that future cyberpunk kind of look. and how you see those moving images of people on buildings, offices and windows.

I tried to create a parallax in after-effects from the image I created in photoshop, Im still getting the hang of how parallax’s work and how cameras and the x,y, z-axis work in after effects, my final result was really short and if you blink you'll miss it lol.
I have to learn how to slow clips down, and how to continuously loop a video.

I wanted to push myself digitally by following youtube tutorials then applying those things to my work, I learned how displacements work in photoshop and liked the idea of how things can be wrapped around objects in a more convincing way than just using blending modes.  I think the final result was a bit crowded and had too many things going on.  I took this as practice and carried on with another look.

I decided to change my idea, and I decided that I would be going digital for the majority of this project.  I'm interested in myth and legend and the idea that I can reconstruct what history has left behind in my way relates to re-interpretation.
Focus Two: creating fake truths, false documents, and fake situations.  I want to look further into the idea about re-creating Medusa from the point of view of the author Bernard Evslin, and Homer & Hesiod, and bringing in other characters in her story, like Im creating a scene from her story based on (the evidence) writings of Bernard, Homer and Hesiod in my own way and style.
These images are apart of the second focus of this project, where I explore re-interpretation and false or fake truths by manipulating the same image 9 times.  These also represent the idea of multiple personalities or the different faces one person may have in different situations.

I'm trying to learn cinema 4d to create abstract art to put into my digital images, its a lot to take in, so I decided to put my drawings on hold, and am going to do digital works for this part of the module.
This was a basic online tutorial in cinema 4d that covered deformers, splines, displacers, phone tags, and camera view, all sound completely alien to me, but I'm going play more to get used to this program.
