He wondered.. Mimi got upset at him for smelling like a different cat. So would Sissel feel the same? To test this theory, Sampo allowed Mimi to rub herself on his jacket. When he returned to his little hideout, Sampo whistled for the kitten to come.

"Sissel, I'm home!" His jacket is on his arm, well within range for the black feline to sniff at. Now he just had to wait and see.

The ghost is pulled away from the weird little bat that he was watching flit about outside the window by the voice of his newest companion returning. That meant fish too, hopefully!

Sissel rose to his paws to trot over and greet the blue human. Sampo had said he had some business to run and would be back in a while, not that Sissel had any trouble keeping himself occupied of course.

However, something was different this time about Blue Fur. A different smell to be more precise.

The black kitten sniffed at the jacket Sampo was holding. While he wasn't sure why Blue Fur would have taken it off given Belebog's temperature there was a new smell on the fabric.

Another cat...? But this one smelled different from anything Sissel had smelled before. Must be one of those freaky other-planet animals.

She kind of expected with all the surprises for the Sparda twins to also pop up behind V--or maybe somehow be responsible for his 'revival'.

"If they still haven't made it back or brought you back inadvertently then I'm afraid I don't know anyone who'd be willing to try and open a portal to the Demon World after all the chaos the Qliphoth tree. Maybe if you could rub some elbows with some demons but that has its own risks."

It looked like V still had his familiars--at least the tattoos were still on him--so he wouldn't be entirely defenseless but still.

"I can put some feelers out to try and find someone who can help. Though in the meantime while you're in the Human world you should also seek out Nero."

Of course, the young Devil Hunter was probably going to be pissed at yet another turn of events, but V trying to hide his presence would likely exasperate the problem in the future.

“I do prefer the honesty. Given even I cannot quite understand how this.”, a gesture up and down on himself, markings alluding to his summons included, followed. “still exists. Remained to be, more precisely.”, so, yes, no more trees, none that he knew of.

No more demonic artefacts, even the cane he wore right now was a fluke compared to the original one probably left where he and another one merged. He would like to get it back one day. It might still hold the power to execute demons as it did before. Maybe that power never came from him to begin with, wouldn't that be nice.

Because, in the end, hadn't he always been nothing more than a memory – a shadow. Something despised. Something someone wanted to get rid off? His only companions turned out to be manifestations of trauma after all.

So who was to say that he wasn't just a bad memory either.

◇ The way he says the first sentence is full of so much sadness. Like with all family things aren't as simple between Jing Yuan and Yanqing and I think this is just one of the many pieces of evidence that points to it.

No, I'm not saying they are totally at odds with each other or are really struggling to get along, but some parts aren't perfect. Jing Yuan has to try and strike the delicate balance of encouraging Yanqing's progression with his swordsmanship and the general growth and maturity of Yanqing as a person yet also try to not put too much pressure on the young Cloud Knight.

I don't think Jing Yuan is entirely to blame for the pressure per se. He does have high expectations of Yanqing but they aren't freakishly so. He knows Yanqing has a lot of natural talent and thus does expect good things from him. The general is trying to groom him to be a leader of the next generation of the Luofu after all. But he is aware of his role in these doubts Yanqing has and his fixation on winning which is why Jing Yuan feels he has failed his apprentice in several places. Perhaps he shouldn't have leaned into Yanqing's natural talents so much? Maybe prevented him from being part of the Cloud Knights/assisting with combat matters of the Luofu until Yanqing fully came of age? He can only be left to wonder if maybe he did things differently situations like the Heliobi situation wouldn't have ever happened.

And of course, some of the pressure is due to the Gifted Kid ™ syndrome. After all, so many people know Yanqing as an unmatched sword prodigy that the Arbiter General took on as an apprentice. If he goes on to lose then what kind of prodigy is he?
