HALLI GALLI KING (KSJ | Moonstruck Bonus Chapter)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Seokjin x Fem. Reader (Married Couple)
Warnings: SMUT!!!! (Don't let the cute banner fool you!), Toddler Talk, Food Talk, Mature Languages, Explicit/Suggestive, Mirror seggs
Genre: Mature, Fluff, Minor Angst
WC: 3.9k
This is a bonus chapter of the Moonstruck series, but can be read alone. However, I highly suggest you read the whole series if you want to meet the most comforting Seokjin character (thank you for saying this, @ahundredtimesover); and if you want to feel all warm and fuzzy from the relationship between them and their extensive and chaotic friend group.
NOT PROOFREAD, SO DON'T COME AT ME.
•••
Seokjin was jolted awake with a grunt by the energetic antics of his two-year-old daughter. With a diaper-cushioned bottom, Lily landed squarely on his stomach, accompanied by the joyful sound of her squeal resonating throughout the room.
“Daddy, wet’s go!” Lily crawled on top of him as her little fingers attempted to reach for his face.
Cracking open his eyelids, he was greeted by the sight of mini pigtails and chubby cheeks right in front of his still-blurry vision. Two little fingers were on a mission, attempting to sneak into his mouth. Before he could fully grasp the situation, a hint of your light perfume tickled his nose as you leaned in to rescue him from the toddler takeover.
“Say ‘good morning, daddy’ and give him a kiss, bubs.” Your melodious voice came through, enough to make him internally smile.
“Goo mowing daddy.” A tiny voice followed before a wet sloppy smooch landed on his left cheek.
“Good morning, baby,” He smothered her chubby cheeks with kisses, triggering a chorus of delightful screams. With a playful gesture, he signaled for you to join the cuddle party, arms wide open for a little morning family cuddle.
“I don’t know what you want to have for breakfast but I cut up some fruits and I’m thawing out the waffles.”
“Don’t worry about me, honey,” he mumbled before planting a kiss on your nose. “Are we going somewhere? Why is she dressed up this early?”
“Daddy, wet’s go!” Lily piped up again, seemingly understanding what his dad just said.
“Where are we going, bubs?”
Instead of answering him, Lily crawled off the bed and waddled towards a pile of plushies on the other side of the room, picking up a well-loved bunny stuffed toy given to her by Jungkook when she was still a baby. “Tokki!” Lily squealed before running and failing to climb back up on the bed. “Untew Kookie, Tokki and Lily bunny!” She tattled excitedly, using the nickname Jungkook has given her while pointing to herself, fully expecting her confused father to understand.
“JK is dropping her off at daycare and picking her up,” you started explaining. “He hasn’t seen her in a while and wanted to take her to the zoo after.”
“She’s your daughter, Seokjin. She has your height,” you rolled your eyes at him. “If she’s not, my brother will figure it out.”
“Is she tall enough for the zoo?” Seokjin asked, confusion etched on his face.
Seokjin got up from the bed and scooped his daughter up, extending his other hand for you to take. “Let’s start the day already, yeah? We want to make sure you and Uncle Kookie are both well fed before you leave.”
You smiled to yourself as you followed your husband out of the bedroom.
Three years into the marriage, you found yourselves in the groove of family life, with a pint-sized sidekick stealing the spotlight. Mornings evolved into a tag-team spectacle, featuring breakfast skirmishes and a toddler tornado leaving a trail of toy mayhem. In the middle of it all, Seokjin somehow managed to squeeze in his pre-work routine, a feat you marveled at. Lucky for you, the work flexibility of an entrepreneur worked in your favor, after starting your own Home Fragrance business. The evenings however, were a comedy show, featuring attempts at gourmet-dinners-for-toddler prepared by your husband, that usually ended in hilarious situations. From the routine of bedtime stories and lullabies, you realized that your love story had expanded to include a tiny co-author. The house reverberated with laughter, baby babble, and admittedly finding moments for each other became a tad challenging. That’s why you tried hard to cherish every minute of cuddling before both of you drifted into a deep slumber at night.
Seokjin reveled in the luxurious embrace of deep slumber the night before, relishing the fact that today was Wednesday. Unlike other days, Wednesday granted him the rare reprieve from the bustling restaurant scene, allowing him to bypass the early morning alarm ritual. However, this particular Wednesday marked a first – his daughter wouldn't be at home for a good few hours. Since the beginning of the week, she had started attending daycare.
With your pint-sized ball of energy safely picked up by Jungkook and taken to daycare, you found yourselves in an uncharted territory – a quiet, toddler-free home on a random morning. The sudden absence of toy-induced chaos left the air surprisingly serene. Rather than basking in the newfound peace, boredom set in faster than you could say "peek-a-boo."
Glancing at each other, you exchanged grins and embarked on a mission to reclaim the living room from the toy minefield. Seokjin groaned like an old man as he picked up the last piece of toy off the living room carpet before chucking it in the basket - a small Princess Peach figure that may not be appropriate for a two year-old at the moment. “That’s the last of it!”
Without the usual background sound of tiny giggles and babbles, the house felt oddly still. Determined to make the most of your mini hiatus, Seokjin turned the music up and launched into an impromptu dance party, pulling you along and busting out with some questionable dance moves.
Your face started hurting from so much laughter, feeling more like the past versions of yourselves again– Seokjin and YN, young, carefree, and in love. Always been in love.
You both fell on the couch, entangled with each other in an embrace and almost out of breath from your mean dance moves and endless laughter.
“What are we doing next?” You asked, chest heaving, trying to catch your breath. “Jenga?”
“Yah… Do you want Lily to choke on those?”
“Okay, no. Scratch that…”
“Halli Galli,” Seokjin grinned before catching the corner of his bottom lip between his teeth.
“We can’t play a drinking game!”
Seokjin shifted and lied down on the couch, bringing you along, making you land on top of him. “I didn't  mean Halli Galli…” He dropped his voice a few octaves lower in a suggestive manner, while skillful hands started slowly kneading your ass, “I meant Halli Galli.”
You gasped, lightly slapping your husband’s chest at the suggestion. “In broad daylight?”
Seokjin’s hands traveled up underneath your shirt, skimming along the skin of your lower back. “We have four hours.”
•••
Grabbing the vibrant bell and scattering the deck of fruity cards with a mischievous grin, Seokjin geared up for an unusual round of Halli Galli that you "invented" as a couple. With a sly wink and a confident smirk, he slumped down on the carpeted floor, right in front of you, and set the stage for a duel of lightning-quick reflexes, where every ring of the bell meant a sweet taste of victory for one and a piece of clothing less for the other.
“You think you’re so smart,” you squinted at your husband who obviously has the advantage, as the undefeated king of Halli Galli in your friend group.
“I’m playing fair and square, honey,” he smirked while giving you a once over. “You’re the one who’s not.”
“What do you mean?” You quirked an eyebrow at him.
“I’m still in my pajamas. You have more clothes on than I do.”
“Whatever, Seokjin…”
“Yeah, right. Whatever,” he snickered. “I’m gonna get you naked in under ten minutes,” he rubbed his palms excitedly while letting out a squeal that’s meant to push your buttons.
“Okay, wait, wait…” You clasped your hands around his and made him look you in the eye. “Let’s take this up a notch then.”
“Ooooh…” Seokjin’s eyes shimmered in amusement. “I love how competitive you are.”
“No staring and no touching until all the cards are cleared out.” Your smile widened when you felt your husband swallow thickly. “You get turned on, you lose. Got it?”
“Deal.”
With a collective deep breath and teasing looks, the one on one game officially commenced. Seokjin drew the first card and the race to spot a matching set of 5 began, fingers hovering anxiously over the cards.
3 bananas
2 plums
1 lime
2 bananas
1 strawberry
4 strawberries
DING!!!
Seokjin’s infectious laughter rang out, infused with a teasing tone, completely in contrast with a groan you let out for missing the bell. “Take it off! Take it off!” He chanted while repeatedly hitting the bell.
You made a show of slowly lifting up your shirt and discarding it over your head, exposing a flattering lacy piece of black strapless material that perfectly hugged your breasts. “Like what you see?”
“Not looking!” Seokjin quickly denied it, but the deep shade of pink adorning the tips of his ears said otherwise. Oh, your poor ‘boobs man’ husband.
You started the second round.
2 limes
3 strawberries
1 banana
3 plums
2 strawberries
2 bananas
5 plums
DING!!!
“Nooooooo!!!!!” You whined in frustration when Seokjin beat you to the bell again. “Why did I agree to this? I will never win against you.”
“Because you enjoy giving me a strip tease.” Seokjin snorted.
“Or you enjoy seeing me strip, that’s why you always suggest this!”
“What are–”
Seokjin’s words got caught up in his throat when you wiggled your way out of your jeans, revealing a lacy pair of panties that matched your bra, leaving almost nothing to the imagination. He sure has seen you in all your glory through the years of your marriage, but the soft natural light streaming in from the window had this way of making your skin glow, giving you a subtle, effortless radiance. He was momentarily out of it and so he didn’t notice when you came closer to plant a sweet kiss on his lips.
“You're drooling.” You took advantage of your husband's dazed state and drew a new card.
2 strawberries
1 lime
3 plums
4 bananas
1 banana
DING!!!
You screamed in excitement when you got the bell first before Seokjin did. “I got you!” You quickly skipped over the deck of cards to your husband, fiddling with the first button of his blue pajama top, “Strip, strip, strip, strip!”
“Yah, what are you doing?” Seokjin burst out laughing at your eagerness, the excitement from winning against him too obvious. “Are you taking my clothes off for me?”
“Can I?” You gave him the puppy eyes that work on him all the damn time.
“Absolutely not,” he said sternly, making you pout. “Sit your pretty ass back down, love.” You scoffed before making a show of slowly crawling back to the other side of the cards in all fours, showing off your ass at him. Seokjin felt his cock twitch. “Fucking hell, YN,” he muttered under his breath, earning a giggle from you. “You know I’m gonna get you topless on the next round, right?”
Your snarky remark didn’t make it out of your lips when you turned to look at Seokjin who’s already removed his pajama top, leaving him in a white low-neck sleeveless undershirt. His broad chest commanded attention, like a sculpted landscape that exuded strength. Of all the things you love about your husband, funny how a simple show of muscles beneath taut skin seemed to drive you absolutely insane that you had to press your thighs together, already feeling the wetness pool between your legs. As his shirt dipped down, revealing a teasing glimpse of his exposed clavicle, your eyes zeroed in on a small beauty mark just below his left collarbone.
Seokjin noticed your subtle movement, feeling his mouth turn paper-dry. He has been internally battling against himself since the first round and there’s nothing he wanted more than to fuck you stupid on the floor right at that moment. But he knew all this teasing would be well worth it in the end. “Well…?”
“And if I get you topless on the next round?” You challenged, tilting your head at him.
Holding your gaze, Seokjin drew a card.
3 bananas
1 plum
2 limes
1 banana
5 strawberries
DING!!!
“Yeah!!!!” Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding-ding-ding-dingggg! Seokjin hit the bell repeatedly in victory before standing up, closing his eyes, and throwing his hands up in the air, imagining a roar of applause in his head like an athlete who just scored a life-changing goal.
“You look like you just scored a goal,” you stood up, crossing your arms, feigning annoyance.
“The goal is to get you naked, you know,” he winked, throwing two finger guns your way. It’s so Seokjin of him and you couldn’t help but playfully roll your eyes and let out a laugh.
“Is that so?” You sauntered towards your husband, letting a mischievous grin dance on your lips. The air was charged with a sultry energy as you approached, and you couldn't resist a subtle hip sway that turned the simple act of walking into teasing.
You could see the curiosity spark in his eyes, and as you reached him, you couldn't resist playfully twirling a loose strand of hair around your finger and a quick lip bite, before running the same finger along his clavicle, down the length of his torso. Seokjin’s Adam’s apple bobbed up and down, making it obvious that your subtle movement already had an effect on him. The corner of your lips turned up into a knowing smile when your eyes landed on a very prominent outline on his pajama bottoms.
You’re no better. Had Seokjin not been distracted by this little teasing show you’re trying to pull off, it would be difficult for you to hide the arousal that was soaking through your panties. You were gushing, and aching, desperate for his touch and you don’t know how long you could keep all this act up.
You slowly pushed him back on the couch and he landed with a soft bounce as soon as the back of his knees hit the edge of the cushion.
“You said no touching?”
“I changed my mind,” you gasped the moment the words slipped out of your mouth, not expecting to be pulled down by the waist, knees landing on either side of Seokjin’s hips.
Seokjin tugged on your hips and helped you properly straddle him, immediately feeling the dampness of your core against his growing erection. “Shit, you’re already wet and we haven’t even done anything yet.” He wrapped one arm around you tighter and used his free hand to tuck your hair behind your ear. “Have I been neglecting you?” His voice came out strained in an airy whisper, worry and guilt pooling his eyes. He let his eyes roam freely on your beautiful face. Your silence screamed volumes, telling him everything he needed to know.
“Fuck,” he raked his fingers from the side of your nape up through your hair, giving it a light tug and exposing your neck. “I have,” the sensation of his warm breath hitting your sensitive skin sent goosebumps down your spine. Your eyes automatically shut and your jaw fell open when your husband started leaving wet trails of kisses up your neck, nipping on your sweet spot just behind the ear. “I’m sorry, baby,” he licked a long stripe up your throat, “I have no excuse,” and captured your mouth in a mind-numbing kiss, tongue expertly swirling, exploring and eliciting moans from you.
You broke the kiss after what seemed like forever to catch your breath, only to plant your knees firmly on the couch and aggressively tug on Seokjin’s tanktop. “Take this off,” you demanded. Seokjin obliged and discarded his tanktop, throwing it haphazardly on the floor before letting his head fall back on the headrest of the couch, staring up at you— lips swollen, cheeks flushed, and hair disheveled.
You ran your tongue across your lips before dipping your head down and attacking his neck with soft kisses, paying attention to the little beauty mark on his collarbone. You continued nipping at his soft skin, while your other hand made its way up to his ear, lightly rubbing his earlobe between your fingertips, making him close his eyes and groan in pleasure. “I told you I’m the one getting you topless on the next round,” you whispered followed by a flirty giggle.
“Cheater,” Seokjin chuckled, eyes still closed. “You’re using my weakness against me.”
“Damn right, I am,” you bit back, slowly grinding your hips to feel his painfully hard manhood. “Mmm… you’re so hard right now, baby.” You gasped when you felt your bra loosen away from your body, almost missing the way Seokjin had swiftly unclasped it and threw it out of your sight with one hand.
“Now, we’re even,” he sat up and quickly gathered your hands behind your back, holding them down with one hand while the other started fondling your right boob. “God, I love these tits so much,” he captured the other one in his mouth, tonguing your nipple while mimicking the movement with his thumb on the other one.
You arched your back, writhed and moaned in pleasure, almost positive that you’re gushing through your panties and soaking through your husband’s pajama bottoms as well, “Fuck, Jinnie…” Your pussy clenched at nothing, desperate to be touched. “Baby, touch me, please.”
“Shhh…” Seokjin splayed his hands on your back pulling you closer again, while peppering your chest and neck with kisses. “I’ll take care of you, hmn? I got you…” Pushing your panties to the side, he ran his middle finger along your sopping slit. “I’m gonna make you feel good, baby…” He went in with two fingers, slowly pumping them in and out of you while putting pressure on your clit with his thumb.
You whimpered in pleasure as your husband curled his fingers repeatedly, reaching that soft spongy spot that made your knees weak. “Jin, baby, I need you inside me,” you cried out, hands reaching out to tug on Seokjin’s arms.
Without a word, Seokjin slipped his fingers out of you and stood up from the couch, aiding you in the process. He stepped out of his pajamas and pre-cum-stained boxers and helped you in removing your panties as well.
You clawed at his shoulders, pulling him back for a hot searing kiss, in anticipation of being fucked stupid on the couch, only to be caught by surprise when Seokjin turned you around and pushed you against the porcelain console table, meeting your reflection against the huge wall mirror head on.
Seokjin tugged on your hips, bending you over and before you realized what’s happening, he’s already thrusting into you with a deep groan, pushing you forward on the console table, making the decorative trinkets and scented candles rattle by the force.
Your legs shook trying to take in the pain and the pleasure of being stretched out combined as Seokjin relentlessly fucked you; the glorious sounds slipping out of his mouth as he took you from behind making your head spin. You whimpered as your head hung low, your hands clasping and unclasping against nothing as you tried to ground yourself. You’re a moaning and whining mess. Your skin covered with a sheen of sweat, your hair disheveled, and your skin blotchy with blooming purple marks from your husband’s earlier assault. You felt him gently grab your jaw and directed you to look in the mirror.
“Eyes on me,” he whispered against your ear. Seokjin’s thick eyebrows were furrowed, his skin also glistened with sweat, and his ears and neck were flushed red. You both stared at each other in the mirror, letting the sound of skin slapping against skin and your moans and groans of pleasure speak for yourselves for a good few seconds.
“I’m close, baby…” you whined, feeling the tightness on your lower belly.
“Yeah?” Seokjin snaked one arm around you, propping you up while fondling your breasts, and brought his free hand between your legs, rubbing circles on your clit. “Do you like that, baby? Does it feel good?” Seokjin asked, intently watching you fall apart in his arms. Your head fell back on his shoulder as you moaned out your answer and he took the sweet opportunity to nip at your shoulder.
“Fuck, Seokjiiiinnn…”
Your beautiful sound turned him on even more, and his pace became more sloppy and erratic, a telltale sign that he’s also close to cumming.
“That’s it, baby,” Seokjin whispered in your ear. “I love you so much. You’re doing so good.”
Tears started prickling your eyes, an unbidden response to the overwhelming surge of emotion that gripped you in that moment. A sudden jolt of pleasure snapped the tightening knot you felt on your lower belly free, and Seokjin fucked you through waves of euphoric bliss, until he’s stilling his hips and painting your walls white with his own release.
It took him a good few seconds before pulling out of you and catching his breath, but the first thing he did was take you in his arms and capture your lips into a sweet kiss. “I love you,” he rested his forehead against yours. “I’m sorry I haven’t been around.”
“But you are around…” you reached up and ran your thumb against his cheek.
“I should have paid more attention to you,” he pouted.
“It’s okay, as long as Lily’s the only other girl hogging all your attention.”
“Of course!” Seokjin dipped his head and started kissing down your neck, “...unless you give me another daughter, you know.”
You yelped in surprise when your husband picked you up bridal-style and made his way up to your bedroom.
“Seokjin!”
“I’m not done with you yet.”
•••
“We’re home!” Jungkook’s booming voice echoed around the house a mere thirty minutes after Seokjin finished cleaning up in the living room, and you went on to start preparing for lunch. “Stay right here, Lily bunny,” he sat your daughter down on the carpeted floor and took a bulky interactive felt book out of her little backpack. “What did we learn in school?”
“Foots!” She proudly smiled up at her uncle while pointing at felt cutouts of fruits with googly eyes from her book.
“Good job, bunbun!” Jungkook softly pinched his niece’s little nose, which made the little one sneeze.
You rounded the corner from the kitchen at the same time that Seokjin made his way downstairs with a change of clothes for your daughter.
“Stay for lunch; I’m making suyuk.” You know your younger brother won’t be able to say no to pork belly.
“Taehyung also brought some pa kimchi from Mom the other day. It would be so good with suyuk.” Seokjin added.
“Oh damn, yeah. That would be delicious.” Jungkook nodded. “By the way, Yoongi hyung called and–”
“Bananas! Bananas!” Lily squealed excitedly, holding up a single Halli Galli card that Seokjin missed while cleaning up.
“Yah…” Jungkook took the card from Lily and paused for a moment, cogwheels turning in his head. Seokjin pressed his lips together trying hard not to burst out laughing. You, on the other hand, looked mortified, silently praying for the ground to crack open and swallow you up whole. “Did you two play Halli Galli while I took Lily out?”
Silence.
Jungkook groaned. “You filthy animals!”
Seokjin gave in and launched into his infectious squeaky laugh, tagging you and your brother along.
The sexy Halli Galli game may have reached its boisterous and delightful climax for the day, but the love and intimacy exchanged between you and Seokjin would forever linger in your shared little home.

Your legs shook trying to take in the pain and the pleasure combined as Seokjin relentlessly fucked you; your head hung low, your hands clasping and unclasping against nothing as you tried to ground yourself. You’re a moaning and whimpering mess.

HALLI GALLI KING (KSJ | Moonstruck Bonus Chapter)
Tumblr media
Pairing: Seokjin x Fem. Reader (Married Couple)
Warnings: SMUT!!!! (Don't let the cute banner fool you!), Toddler Talk, Food Talk
“Is she tall enough for the zoo?” Seokjin asked, confusion etched on his face.
“She’s your daughter, Seokjin. She has your height,” you rolled your eyes at him. “If she’s not, my brother will figure it out.”
With your pint-sized ball of energy safely picked up by Jungkook and taken to daycare, you found yourselves in an uncharted territory – a quiet, toddler-free home on a random afternoon.

Your legs shook trying to take in the pain and the pleasure combined as Seokjin relentlessly fucked you; your head hung low, your hands clasping and unclasping against nothing as you tried to ground yourself. You’re a moaning and whimpering mess.
You yelped in surprise when your husband picked you up bridal-style and made his way down to your bedroom.

ONE YEAR LATER…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
———
Jungkook had been busy and distant in the past week. An unexpected project landed on his lap just when Mingyu went on vacation, and things had been hectic in the HQ for you too since RKive 360 is preparing for a reprised production of The Xcalibur. You haven’t really been spending much time with each other. Even Facetiming and text messaging were sparse. So you were more than happy to spend time with him that evening.
“It’s about time they zhuzhed this place up,” you muttered as you walked hand in hand with Jungkook in the familiar campus grounds. A sinking feeling settled on your stomach when you saw that the old lamposts and rusty benches along the sidewalk had been removed. Lawn lamps, fresh grass, and a variety of flowering plants had been put in place for a more updated landscape.
“The lecture hall will be renovated, too, I believe,” Jungkook hummed, while looking around.
“Is this what you wanted to show me?”
“Kind of… Yeah…” Jungkook walked up to the curb where your special lamppost had been, now replaced with a healthy flowering feverfew bush. He plucked out one of the dainty flowers and twirled it playfully in front of your face, “Flower, flower, fl-flow-flower flowerrrr…”
“Stoppp!” You whined and dodged the flower, making him giggle. “You shouldn’t have touched the flowers, what’s wrong with you?”
“What, there’s like a bunch of them, no one will notice.” He grinned and tucked the small flower behind your ear. “You look so much prettier now.”
“Gee, thanks.”
Jungkook walked a few steps away and opened up his arms, filling his lungs with the chilly air of the evening. “You know, this place holds a lot of memories for us. We met here, we fought here,” he snorted. “We fought here as naive kids,” he said the word with so much disgust, as if he didn’t just refer to both of you in your young adult years. “We fought here as grown-ups.”
You bit back your tongue and tried hard not to comment and interrupt your boyfriend’s monologue, or soliloquy… whatever direction he’s driving at.
“We had our first kiss here, exactly where we stand right now. Although of course, you had to pretend you don’t remember it because, like I said, we were kids - we just graduated college, and you thought I don’t remember shit. But I did. I remember everything about you.” He continued pacing back and forth in front of you as he recalled every significant thing you shared, wrapping it up with how you made it official as a couple right at this very place, too.
Your breath hitched when Jungkook suddenly marched towards you, crowding your space with his strong presence in a split second, before caging your hands between his palms. “YN…” he whispered your name before dropping his head, looking defeated. “I think it’s about time…” he sighed.
“What?” Your heart started hammering inside your chest. Jungkook looked like he was struggling and was about to tear up.
“I think we should break up.”
His words felt like a kick to your gut and it took you at least three seconds to react. “B-b-break up?” Jungkook tightened his grip on your hands, but refused to meet your eye. “Jungkook, look me in the eye and say that again.” You said through gritted teeth, fighting back the waver in your voice and the tears that were threatening to fall.
Panic started bubbling up in Jungkook’s chest. Did he think this through? What if he messed up his words again, just like what happened years and years ago when he first attempted to ask you out? He has it all planned out in his head. He rehearsed it with Mingyu almost a hundred times. Mingyu… Mingyu… Mingyu whose stare he could feel on the side of his face from where he’s hidden behind the fountain in front of the library. He started spacing out as his heartbeat went faster by the second.
“Jeon Jungkook…” you heaved a heavy sigh before looking up to the sky, trying to blink back your tears. “Can you let go of my hands, please?”
“No,” he tugged you closer and clutched your hands against his chest. “We need to break up, YN…”
“Well, then fucking let me go!” You exclaimed, yet it came out sounding like a whine as your tears started chasing each other down your cheeks. “You’re confusing me right now. Let go!”
That’s it, he messed up again. It wasn’t the reaction he anticipated in his head. He thought you would laugh at his face, call his bluff, and tell him how he couldn’t live without you. Which of course, he wouldn’t deny, and his plan would be perfectly executed. He had to act fast if he wanted to avoid further damage.
“Oh no, baby, don’t cry…” he reached out to wipe the tears running down your cheeks with his thumb and planted a kiss on your forehead. “I’m sorry, I’m sorry…”
You pushed him as far as your strength against his tall and muscly form would allow, and started walking away while fishing out your phone from your purse. You knew DK was nearby and you frankly couldn’t wait to get out of Jungkook’s presence. You’re confused and hurt. He couldn’t even give you the reason why he’s breaking up with you. You thought everything was coming up roses after you got together– you’re both at a good place in your lives after all. He picked you up from work and brought you to a place that’s significant to you and your relationship. He said it himself, it holds a lot of memories. Did it make sense that he also wanted to end things between you at the same place where it all started? Probably. That’s most likely how his thoughts work. You were interrupted from your own thoughts when Jungkook grabbed one of your arms and pulled you into a soul-crushing hug.
“Babe, don’t go. I’m so sorry. You’re getting it all wrong.”
“What the fuck is wrong with you? Let me go.” You wanted to fight him, push him to the curb and kick him multiple times, but you couldn’t. You couldn’t even find the strength to wiggle out of his hug. “You want to break up? Then let’s break up.” You said in a small voice.
“Babe, listen to me…” He briefly let you go only to cradle your face between his hands and made you look at him. His eyes are glistening against the streetlights, pooling with regret. “Remember about two years ago, the night when we celebrated the success of our very first project together?”
“What?” You’re getting more and more confused by the minute.
“I’m sorry,” Jungkook suddenly dropped down on both knees, kneeling in front of you in apology.
“Jungkook, what are you doing?” You hit him on the shoulder and attempted to pull him up by his jacket. “Stand up.”
“We made a pact that by the time we’re thirty-five and we’re still single, we will marry each other, remember?” He caught your hand in his, stopping you from hitting him and attempting to pull him up. “So please, YN… let’s break up. I don’t need a girlfriend anymore.” It took you a minute to decipher his words, and by the time you did, Jungkook had already pulled out a classic round cut diamond set on a dainty white gold ring. “Miss Seo, I’m fulfilling the pact that I made with you. We’re both single now and we’re both thirty-five this year.”
Your heart weakened when the realization of what’s really happening dawned on you, and instead of pulling Jungkook up, you dropped down on your own knees in front of him. “You’re so stupid, you know?” He almost toppled backwards when you attacked him with a hug as quiet sobs escaped your lips. “Why would you do that? You scared me.”
“I’m sorry, I thought I was being cool,” he whispered against your ear as he hugged you back with one arm, kissing your temple afterwards. “I love you. Please don’t cry, you’re breaking my heart.”
“You’re dumb,” you sniffed as you snuggled your face on the crook of his neck. You could feel Jungkook’s grin on the side of your face, so you raised your head and looked back at him, before eyeing the ring in his hand. “Is that really for me?”
“Of course, silly! Who else is this for?” Jungkook plucked out the ring from the box cushion and slowly slipped it on your finger. “This holds two promises- the first one is our pact that we will marry each other when we’re still single by the time we’re both thirty-five, and the second one is sticking by your side for the rest of my life.”
“You’re the stupidest man I know,” your lower lip jutted out as you tried to prevent yourself from bursting out in tears again.
“That’s not a word, baby,” Jungkook giggled. “How about an ‘I love you too,’ huh?”
“YAH, JEON JUNGKOOK!!”
You both scurried on your feet when you heard DK’s booming voice and saw him approaching.
“I knew I would find you both here!” DK marched up next to you and frowned at your tear-stained face. “Are you okay?” But before you could answer, he charged onto Jungkook and had the other man step back. “What did you do?”
“It’s not what you think, Dokyeom-ah…”
“DOKYEOM, DON’T START A FIGHT!” Mingyu caught up, toting a large camera under his arms. “They- they just got…He just…” He lifted his hand up and winced before plopping down on the ground, out of breath from sprinting towards his friends.
DK looked from Mingyu to you, who was just as confused, then to Jungkook and back again. “What the fuck are you doing here?”
Mingyu couldn’t answer, still trying to catch his breath, so he just pointed at your finger. DK’s eyes widened, realizing what just happened. “Wow…” He burst out laughing. “Yah, Jeon Jungkook!!!” He exclaimed in excitement before engulfing Jungkook in a tight hug. “Bro, congratulations. I was about to beat you up, dude.”
“Why?” You asked.
“I heard he was about to break up with you.”
“He did,” You said with a smile, making DK tilt his head in confusion.
Mingyu stood up and dusted off his jeans. “Let’s go, bro. Let’s leave them alone,” He slung his arm over DK’s shoulders and pulled him away. “Let’s go get some food, I’m starving.”
“You knew about this?”
“Yep. I’ll tell you everything in detail.”
You gasped in surprise when Jungkook suddenly pulled you by the waist against him, “I think you found your Man of Honor,” he said fondly as you looked at your friends’ retreating figures.
“Definitely.”

warnings! talks of wanting marriage.
“seungcheol, my love, my darling, my angel —”
your boyfriend opens one eye from where he’s lying on the couch, speaking in half a grunt and half a whine. “what do you want from me?”
he’s had the longest day at work, and he’s making sure you know it — so you, biting back a smile, bend over and cup his cheek lovingly. “it’s your turn to do the dishes.”
seungcheol opens his eyes slowly, and stares at you beseechingly. you stare back, unwavering.
“let’s get a divorce,” he declares finally, throwing a dramatic arm over his eyes.
“we’re not married, cheollie,” you laugh, as you kiss his forehead.
“yet,” he corrects automatically — and both of you freeze. he slides his arm ever so slightly to the side, gauging your reaction with one peeking eye.
a thousand words are said in the glance you two share, but you only need to say one. “yet,” you agree, softly.
he does try his best, but seungcheol can’t quite hide the delighted beam that spreads across his face, curving those lips you know so well. his whole body shifts towards you, rolling on the couch so he’s on his side; you have already given up on bending over him, and are sitting cross-legged on the floor beside the sofa instead.
he looks at you for a long time, reaching out a hand to trace the bridge of your nose suddenly, smiling when you blink in surprise. “i love you,” he murmurs. “i really don’t want to do the dishes.”
you lean into his touch, kissing the tip of his finger. “i love you too. i’ve already done them.”

when he finds out you're sick through the internet
Tumblr media Tumblr media
A/N: idol!au. OC is also a celebrity though I don't explicitly say what. tiny teensy angst bc cheol is a worried Boyfriend💔 1.5k words! another random word vomits bc that's the only way i know how to write now lol idk why but everytime i write this kinda fic it's always seungcheol looooooooooooooool. not proofread, but enjoy!
Tumblr media
Seungcheol doesn't really get angry.
For the three years you've known him in which you've dated him for two, you've only seen him actually get angry a total number of three times. None of them was directed at you, and all of them are for reasons that you would've exploded upon way before he did.
Seungcheol is patient and rational.
Seungcheol is normally patient and rational.
But he's never normal when it comes to you. And even though the patient bit still stands, nothing about his feelings towards you is ever rational. He's a little too emotional, a little too rash, and a little too worrisome when it comes to your wellbeing.
So when he's relaxing in the practice room during a break with his members, for once not on his phone because he's charging it somewhere on one of the tables, and he hears Seungkwan gasps a little upon his phone, he thinks there's another scandal blowing up upon the industry. But when the younger guy's blown out eyes meet him, colors drained from his face, Seungcheol hates that he knew it could mean one thing: something happened to you.
He shoots up almost immediately, not registering any words that come out of Seungkwan's mouth. His hands shake a little when he unlocks his phone, and his heart drops when he reads the official post from your company's twitter account that states your current condition, that you might need to pause your activities for the time being due to health reasons, apologizes for the worries, and asks for the fans' understanding.
He wants to get angry.
At who, hes not sure.
At your company, for pushing you even though they know your schedule is practically inhumane? At your manager, for not making sure that you have decent rest in between schedules? At you, because he’s been telling you to fucking stop running towards whatever goal you have in mind but you insist that you know your limit and you’ll know when to stop?
Apparently, no you fucking don’t because else this wouldn’t have happened.
The rest of the members look at him in worry, and Jeonghan silently walks to their manager and the other staff to let them know about the situation at hand, that Seungcheol would probably not be in his best state to continue practice at the moment. The leader would probably insist that they continue anyway, but they’ve practiced for almost five hours already anyway and they could spare an hour or two for the leader when it’s clear that he’s worried beyond measure.
Seungcheol bites his lip as he tries to call you, his concern skyrocketing by the seconds the longer the beeping sound goes, no sign of you picking it up. He tries one more time, but you still don’t answer and he’s about to hurl his phone at the wall when your manager calls him instead, tells him that he sees his name flashing on your phone, informs your whereabouts, and that he should just drop by your place in a few hours if he wants to see you because right now you’re still sleeping in the car and he’s taking you home.
He finds it hard to say anything, a lump growing in his throat until he manages to swallow it down and ask how you’re doing right now.
“She’s… exhausted.” Your manager says quietly. “I know it’s my job to take care of her but… you know her. She didn’t tell me that she’s been having a hard time sleeping at night the past few weeks and it finally took a toll on her.”
It’s hard to suppress his anger, his breath heavier than usual though it’s not too noticeable unless they know Seungcheol. He wants to scream at your manager, but he knows it won’t do anyone any good and it’s really not the time nor the place for that. So he mutters a quiet ‘thank you’ before he hangs up, his members looking at him with a mix of worry and understanding when he looks up at them.
“Go.” Soonyoung says. “We’ve practiced enough today. Take care of your girlfriend and tell us later.”
Seungcheol nods and sprints out of the room, beyond thankful that his members always have his back.
Tumblr media
Seungcheol is glaring at you when you wake up, though the way his thumb is still softly caressing your head and the worry in his eyes clearly tell you that his anger is nowhere near his distress.
You offer him a weak smile, unable to defend yourself because you know what his eyes are scolding you for.
“Sorry?” You whisper and immediately cringe at how dry your throat feels.
He doesn’t say anything as he helps you sit down and hands you your favorite mug. Taking in the moment, you frown at how weak you feel, though you really only have yourself to blame because you genuinely thought you’re okay and you can take it.
You know it’s on you for taking as many schedules as possible, practically everything that your company offers you even when your manager says he doesn’t think it’s physically possible for you to do all that in such a short span.
Thinking about it now, you realize that your manager and the rest of your team also gets the short end of the stick through your decision. Him, your make up team, and your stylists would all need to be with you and your ambition forgets to consider their wellbeing even when you wrongly claim you would be able to handle it.
Guilt starts to eat you inside out, and it grows even larger as you see Seungcheol in front of you–didn’t he say he had practice today?–his face screams distressed and his shoulders tense since God knows when.
“Hey, talk to me.” He says softly when he notices you’ve been spacing out and you’re nibbling on your lip like you would when you’re anxious, taking away your mug before enveloping your hands with his.
You tear up almost immediately, and he moves to sit on the edge of your bed to usher you into his chest, patiently listens to your nonsense as you try to talk through your tears. He gets the gist of it: sorry–manager–company–wellbeing–my team–didn’t think it through–made you worry–overestimated myself–sorry–and the list goes on. He exhales as he hugs you tighter, both understanding and upset at the turns of events.
Being in the same industry, he gets what you’re trying to do, understands that you feel the need to keep on running while you’re able to, relates that you’re doing everything for yourself and your fans. But still, it’s hard not to be upset to know you’re pushing yourself too hard when he’s been telling you there’s no need to run as fast as you are without resting; that you’ll only hurt yourself one way or another and he hates that the one time he needs to be right, it’s this.
You end up laying down against his chest on your bed, hiccups and sniffles filling your bedroom along with a random song he’s humming against your head. You pull away to properly look at him, the first time you’re doing it since you woke up earlier, and his hum stops in question.
“Thank you.” You manage to whisper, your fingers grasping the front of his shirt without even realizing. “For being here when I woke up.”
He shakes his head like he doesn’t understand why you’re thanking him, simply leans down to plant a long, chaste kiss against your forehead before he pulls up your blanket so it’ll cover you properly.
“Just… don’t surprise me like that again, okay?” His breath is warm against your face, pleasantly so, and you nod as you promise him that you’ll take better care of yourself moving forward.
“Are you staying the night?”
“Yes, I’ll return to the dorm the day after tomorrow. They’ve given me a day off.” You cringe at his words, though thankful that he’s been in the industry long enough to attain that kind of privilege. But still, you feel bad that you’re obstructing his practice and his members just because you’re foolish enough to– “Hey. Stop. I know what you’re thinking. No need to feel bad. I’m actually glad I get to rest with you.”
“But–”
“No buts. The kids can do without me for a day.” He playfully bumps his forehead against yours, his lips hover above yours merely centimeters apart.  He doesn’t meet your lips, though he kisses their corner sweetly and wraps you back into his embrace to the point where there’s no space between you two. “Sleep. I’ll be here when you wake up.”
“Good night, Cheol.”
“Night, baby.”
“See you in my dream?”
“I’ll see you anywhere you want me to be.”
He hugs you tighter, and you try your best to return the gesture despite the awkward position of your arms. It’s uncomfortable and you’re sure your arms will be sore the next morning.
But you wouldn’t have it any other way. Not when you succumb to sleep and find Seungcheol smiling at you on the other side of your dream, as real as he can be.

Taehyung collapsed on top of you with a grunt, teeth nipping at the dainty flesh of your clavicle, as he sank his face further into the crook of your neck. You were both out of breath from riding out your early morning orgasm, and you more so, for having his full weight against your ribcage.
"Move, it's too hot and you’re heavy..." You whined as you writhed underneath him, pushing him and thumbing away the strands of your hair that stuck on your sweaty skin.
Taehyung's mind was fuzzy and his body heavy as he struggled to lift himself up on his elbows when he felt you push him away. He rolled over on his back as he watched you get out of bed, in all your naked glory, making a beeline to the ensuite bathroom. "Nice butt," he threw a compliment your way, making you roll your eyes.
"Stop staring!"
"The right cheek is still red, honey. I’m sorry!"
You threw him the finger before shutting the door of the bathroom, making him break into an obnoxious laugh. It's not long after when he sauntered into the bathroom himself to take a shower, after making a mental calculation of the time it would take for you to finish with yours. Ever as accurate with his timing, you were already dressed in your robe, hair tied up in a towel, while brushing your teeth in front of the double sink when he entered.
“Should I pick you up from work this evening?” Taehyung asked you as he disappeared into the glass partition.
Ah, the classic "married couple conversation" - that charming early morning exchange where one half of the couple is quietly going through their pre-work routine, while the other tries, with all their might, to spark some form of coherent conversation. It's a delicate dance of trying not to overstep while also attempting to piece together the idea of it being a normal thing to do between married people. After all, it has already been almost a year since you two exchanged your vows. At times, it can feel like you're speaking two entirely different languages - one person tuned into the present moment while the other is on another planet.
Taehyung’s question was met with silence and he immediately started convincing himself that you just didn’t hear him properly.
“Seokjin hyung and Mari are expecting us at the grand opening of their aqua park this weekend,” he started another conversation. “You’re not working this weekend, are you?”
You spat out the toothpaste foam before answering, “It’s this weekend already?” Your eyebrows furrowed, trying to remember the date. “I’m trying to close a client on Monday so I’d probably be working on the presentation that weekend.” You arranged your toothbrush and dental floss on the acrylic holder before meeting Taehyung’s eyes in the mirror. “You should go ahead, don’t wait for me.”
“Yah, of course they’re expecting us to attend together,” Taehyung countered with a small pout. “We’re a married couple.”
“Married couple?” You turned around and walked towards the shower, reaching for Taehyung’s face before rising on your toes and planting a quick kiss on his lips, but it felt all too sweet for Taehyung. “We’re business partners, honey.”
Taehyung’s eyes automatically shut as he savored your kiss, and you’ve already stepped out of the bathroom when his eyes slowly fluttered open. He released his breath that he always knew he held around her in moments like that, as another fine line was added to the already-existing crack in his heart.
You leaned back on your chair, taking a quick pause from revising the contract renewal proposal for your target Japanese client to collect your thoughts, and do a quick read through. It’s important for you to close this client, because although they put your grandfather in high regard when they initially signed a contract with Sunrise Foods Corp, you couldn’t say they view you and your competence the same way as a young woman. They have also expressed their dislike of the Kim Industries Inc merger, questioning the stability of the business in the near future.
You’re not a stranger to judgment when people say that you’re both too young to tie the knot for convenience instead of love. What they failed to understand is that you did get married for love, albeit not for each other, but for the love of your families. You both came from what they call “old money,” tracing back to generations of farming and distributions, from livestock, to fisheries, to fresh produce - your families have it all.
Kim Industries Inc. is a huge empire. Kim Hakyung, Taehyung’s grandfather, is the youngest of three brothers. The eldest has passed down his fisheries and aquaculture business to his first grandson Seokjin, and the middle has passed down his livestock and poultry business to his only grandson, a licensed veterinarian, Namjoon. Traditionally, the brothers would pass down their businesses to their grandchildren instead of their children, but Hakyung hit a snag on his bloodline when his eldest grandson had yet to be married as his retirement date from his crops and forestry business approached.  He knew he had to make sure Taehyung would be producing an heir to their fortune. Luckily, he knew just who to run to.
Your grandfather’s relationship with Kim Hakyung grew from just being friends who met during their military enlistment to being business partners. Sunrise Foods Corp is the top frozen and processed food company in the country, marketing Korea’s food history and efficiently translating it to conveniently packed food items for today’s modern lifestyle. Every meat, poultry, fish, and produce that the company processed were directly supplied by Kim Industries Inc, bringing the freshest ingredients to the consumer’s table.
Your grandfather has built his estate next to the Kim estate, and you have lived there with your brother Jimin your whole life even after your parents got divorced and moved on with their lives. Taehyung and Jimin, of the same age, basically grew up chasing each other down the lake that sat between the two estates. Being just a year older, you were around the two boys a lot – or the other way around. You went to school together, you played together, and when you were old enough to do stuff on your own, you even went to parties together.
You’ve always known that Taehyung had a crush on you. After all, when he was thirteen, he slipped a letter in your locker on Valentine’s day that read “I really like your pretty smile,” which he never admitted to, but you accidentally saw him sneaking the letter in. What you didn’t know is that he didn’t outgrow that crush and that it would only transform into something so intense and all-encompassing– the way you laughed, the way your eyes sparkled in the sunlight when you came by the lake, and the sound of your voice became etched into his heart. One summer, during your birthday dinner, you entered the restaurant with another man in tow. You looked at that man like he hung all the stars in the sky, and Taehyung almost heard his heart shatter. That’s when he realized that this love for you wasn't just a mere infatuation but rather an indescribable force that pulled at him relentlessly.
As selfish as it sounded, the moment he heard about your break up with your then boyfriend a few years later, Taehyung sprung into action and asked his grandfather and his parents to arrange his marriage with you, mentioning the future of their family business for good measure.
The two elderly men often talked about merging and growing their business officially, throwing playful glances at you and Taehyung everytime you would gather for a joint family dinner. Taehyung’s parents seemed to agree as his dad would often quip that he knew Taehyung would be a good husband and father. You paid it no mind, but Taehyung basked in the attention. That’s why it didn’t come as a surprise when your grandfather dropped the bomb one morning, over breakfast, that the Kims would love to have you as part of their family officially by marriage.
“Seriously?” The outburst came from Jimin, not you. At that time, he wasn’t fond of the idea because one, he knew that his bestfriend is popular with the ladies; and two, you have just broken things off with your long-term boyfriend Yoongi. But reality check— it’s not like two very traditional and old-fashioned elderly men would listen to a twenty-eight-year-old man, right?
So, on the first day of autumn that same year, you and Taehyung exchanged vows in the presence of your families and close friends, on the same lake that sat between the two estates.
You pulled yourself out of your thoughts and refocused on the document right in front of you. You were just about to rephrase another sentence when Taehyung’s messages started coming in, and the sound of your phone kept vying for attention like a persistent child. You tried to concentrate on the task at hand, fingers tapping away at the keyboard, while your mind distractedly wandered towards the notifications piling up on your screen. The longer you ignored them, however, the more insistent they seemed to become until you gave in and opened his messages. You felt the irritation bubbling up inside of you as yet another message from your husband regarding your upcoming anniversary interrupts your workday.

Instead of replying, you heaved a heavy sigh before tapping on the small camera icon, calling him over Facetime instead. His beautiful boxy smile greeted you when he accepted the call, revealing his perfectly straight teeth that glistened in a perfect array of pearly whites. There was a slight twinkle in his eyes, letting you know of his giddiness while planning for your upcoming anniversary.
You pulled your lips into a thin smile so as not to dampen his mood.
"So...?" He leaned back on his own office chair, and you just knew that he also put his feet up on his desk in the process. "What do you think of my suggestions?"
"Can we put off celebrating our anniversary when I am not drowning in work?"
"But it's our first anniversary..."
“Exactly, Tae…” You made an effort to hold back an exasperated sigh before you continued because you knew he’s excited and you didn’t want to hurt his feelings. “We’ll have many more anniversaries to come. It’s okay not to plan for a trip on the first one.”
“Just consider it, okay?” Taehyung insisted. “We have until next week. We can book a last-minute trip if you’re caught up in – YO, BROTHER!” Taehyung’s attention was immediately taken away from you when Jimin’s head popped up next to yours to wave at him, easily distracting him with what he’s saying.
“Yah, we’re busy here. Can’t you see?” Jimin fake-scolded his bestfriend and brother-in-law. “We’re trying to export our products, stop distracting my sister with your nonsense.”
“It’s not nonsense, it’s our anniversary trip!” He defended. “You’re going on a trip?” Jimin directed his question at you, eyes already dripping with judgment. After all, he’s twice as busy as you when it comes to your new project, because he’s the Director of Finance. “When?”
You waved a hand at him dismissively, wordlessly saying that you’re not, before focusing your attention back on Taehyung. “Okay, I have to go. We have a meeting in 5 minutes.”
“Yeah okay… I’ll pick you up later, okay?”
“Mmmkay…” You mumbled before ending the call.
“Wow… one year, huh…” Your bestfriend and assistant, Minji said in a playful tone. “You guys are so sweet to each other, one would think you love each other.”
“Taehyung loves her,” Jimin snickered.
“Are you saying I don’t?” You feigned surprise at what your brother just insinuated. “Of course, I love him. I’m a loving person, in general, you know?”
“Yeah, I mean… I guess…” Jimin trailed off. “I mean, okay, you love him because maybe he seems familiar? But he loves LOVES you, you know?” He slumped down on the couch and dramatically acted out a heart beating out of his chest with his fist. “Taehyung doesn’t just love you, it’s more than that– he LURRVES you.”
“Jimin, can we focus here?” You used your “big sister” tone on him which made him– smartly dressed in a three-piece suit– sit upright on the couch, making Minji laugh out loud.
“Wait! I have one more question…” Minji squealed excitedly and rolled her chair over in front of your desk.
You squinted at her, wheels started turning inside your head. Knowing Minji, you know where this is going.
“So…” She started in a singsong voice. “One year of arranged marriage… Do you guys have sex?”
And there it is. You knew it.
You decided to indulge her curious mind. “Oh, we have LOTS–”
“FALA FA NA LALALALALA I DON’T WANT TO HEAR THIS!” Jimin covered his ears and shut his eyes while you and Minji broke into hysterics.
Of course. Jimin didn’t have to know that his sister and his childhood bestfriend just couldn’t keep their hands off of each other almost every night.
It was awkward during the first few weeks of your marriage. Despite your expectations being set, it was difficult to shake off the fact that it was an arranged marriage, even though clearly, Taehyung seemed to be so in love with you. You moved into your house with a helper and a driver, and to avoid any suspicions about you as a couple, sleeping in different rooms was out of the question. You suddenly found yourself sharing a bed, a bathroom, and a life with someone else who had their own set of habits, routines, and preferences. Despite knowing Taehyung your whole life, it was still challenging to navigate through disagreements, differences in communication styles, and conflicting expectations. It took some time to settle into your new routine, but eventually you found your rhythm as a married couple and things started feeling more natural... intimacy included. That's how you found out that your husband is one hell of a sex god.
“I understand that you’re too busy with the Japanese client, so I held off on the trip,” he managed to make out the words while brushing his teeth next to you on the bathroom sink. “But I’m preparing our anniversary dinner on Friday, so make sure you come home early, okay?” He spat out the toothpaste foam and rinsed his mouth. “Okay?”
“Okay,” you turned on your airwrap and began styling your hair in little wisps.
“Make sure you don’t forget, honey. I’m serious.”
“Gee, you do sound serious,” you chuckled. “I won’t forget.”
“Say ‘I promise I won’t forget,” three times,” Taehyung challenged you.
“I promise I won’t forget. I promise I won’t forget. I promise I won’t forget.”
You did forget.
You recalled your conversation with Taehyung as you stared at the aluminum containers and the unopened room temperature bottle of wine on the kitchen island.
Today’s your anniversary and the thought completely abandoned you as you got ready for work that morning and flew out the door an hour earlier than usual. It was your big day after all.
The Japan project was a success. You were able to close three major supermarkets in Japan that would carry Sunrise Foods Corp products. You and your team have worked tirelessly, pouring every ounce of your energy and expertise into this endeavor, and your efforts ultimately paid off. So when it came time to celebrate your victory, you did so with gusto. You booked a huge VIP karaoke lounge with bottomless drinks and hors d'oeuvres, and you laughed, danced, and raised your glasses high in recognition of what you had accomplished as individuals and as a team.
It was already 2 in the morning when you stumbled inside your house, still a bit merry, until your eyes landed on what could have been a romantic anniversary dinner set up. Except they were now neatly put away, which you assume was done by your helper, Mrs. Wu before she left for the evening.
The guilt that washed over you was enough to sober you up and you groaned in frustration before making your way upstairs to your shared bedroom. There was a faint light coming from under the door which indicated that Taehyung is still awake. You pushed the door open and saw your husband on the bed, propped up on a pile of pillows, reading something on a tablet. His hair all mussed up and his black-rimmed glasses falling slightly on the bridge of his nose. He didn’t even give you a glance when you entered, which slightly felt like a stab at your heart, given that whichever the circumstances, his feelings are important to you and you don’t really like disappointing him.
You quietly trudged to the ensuite bathroom to wash off the grime and stench accumulated from being outside in sweat and smoke. You didn’t take a lot of time in the shower because you wanted to apologize to Taehyung. So after dressing up in a comfortable nightgown, you approached the bed slowly, taking measured steps, until you slid yourself under the covers and scooted closer to him. Your eyes met his, glazed with a silent plea as you searched for an opening to breach the walls that he put up. With a gentle touch on his arm, you felt him relax beneath your fingers just enough to allow a small crack in his armor. It's all you needed, and before he could protest, you lifted his arm and you snuggled into his embrace, inhaling the citrusy scent of his aftershave.
"I'm sorry," you started, actually meaning it. “I am truly sorry for not being more attentive and thoughtful.” You paused, trying to remember the rest of your apology. "I am not one to make excuses or try to justify my mistakes, I know forgetting our anniversary was a major misstep on my part." Your words may have sounded pretty rehearsed, because that’s exactly what you did while in the shower, for wanting to say just the right words so as not to further disappoint him. You held your breath as you waited for his reply.
“Did you like the flowers I got you?”
You hummed in agreement remembering the big bouquet of carnations in various shades of reds and pinks sitting on your dresser when you entered the closet. The symbolism wasn’t lost on you - love and admiration.
It seemed like that’s all that he needed to hear. You’ve always known that Taehyung has a pure heart, but you’re still taken aback sometimes at how easy it is to satisfy him and make him happy. He set aside his tablet and turned off the lamp before turning to you, ruffling your hair, and planting a kiss on your forehead. “Happy anniversary,” he whispered before shifting on his pillows, removing you from his embrace, and turning his back on you. A mere hum from you could make him smile, but not wanting you in his arms as he falls asleep tells you more than you need to know. Feeling small and still laden with guilt, you settled on your own side of the bed and stared at your husband’s back until you fell asleep.
The next morning, Taehyung dragged himself to the kitchen, hair sticking out everywhere and eyes partly shut as he picked all the crusty signs of sleep off of them. “Mrs. Wu, do we have greek yogurt?” He asked without even looking.
“I sent Mrs. Wu home.”
Taehyung’s eyes shot up when he heard your soft voice and he’s even more surprised when he saw you setting down some utensils on the kitchen island. “What are you doing here?”
“I’m making us breakfast,” you beamed sweetly at him before you turned around to check on your simmering jjajangmyeon sauce. “I know this isn’t a typical breakfast, but it’s already almost 10 AM and this would pass up as brunch.”
Taehyung still stood rooted in his position, because this is the first time he’s seen you make breakfast, aside from the occasional frozen waffle and coffee, in your one year of marriage. “Yeah, but I mean… what are you doing here?” He repeated his question that made your shoulders slump.
“Do you want me to leave?” There was hurt in your voice.
“No, no, no,” Taehyung quickly rounded the kitchen island to get to you and gently rubbed your arm. “It’s Saturday, so shouldn’t you be at the factory?” He asked softly.
“Grandfather will do the inspection today…” You hung your head low, embarrassed to meet your husband’s eyes. “He knows it’s our anniversary weekend.”
“Oh…”
“Hey, I’m sorry, I–” Your words were caught between your lips when Taehyung cradled your face between his palms and pressed a chaste kiss on your lips. The smile on his lips when he pulled away almost made you swoon. “What was that for?” You asked breathlessly.
“I love you.” He confessed, eyes boring into yours.
“Tae…” The swooning spiraled quickly into an odd discomfort you wish you could push away.
“You don’t have to say it back, YN.” He pulled his lips into a smile that made his cheeks puff like fluffy bread. “... and don’t apologize. I understand that the Japan deal is huge, and you’ve worked so hard on it. I’m so proud of you.”
“Ugh, stop. You’re making me feel so much worse,” you whined. “Let me do this at least to make it up to you, okay?”
“Is this our anniversary breakfast then?”
“One day late, but I still poured my heart and soul into this jjajangmyeon, so I hope you enjoy it.”
Taehyung playfully clutched his heart and dramatically stumbled against the counter. “Careful, I’m starting to believe you have fallen in love with me already.”
You couldn’t help but giggle at Taehyung’s playful antics.
“Fall in love, my foot.”
As the days turned into weeks, you found yourself lost in a whirlwind of tasks. There was no respite from the constant stream of deadlines, meetings, and responsibilities that filled every moment, leaving no space for contemplation or relaxation.
Between work, your family, and trying to squeeze in some exercise, it's been a bit of a blur. You're not gonna lie, you know it's better than being bored out of your mind. But sometimes you wish you could slow things down just a little bit so you can catch your breath. Even though it's been hectic, you always make sure to ground yourself and indulge in your social life from time to time.
Despite it being a Saturday night- the supposed peak of excitement and revelry at the club - there were only a few people scattered about, some were hitting the dance floor, some were engrossed in a chatter, and some were just like you and Minji - perched on the barstools and sipping your complimentary dry martini. It has become your little tradition to meet up at your other bestfriend, Hoseok's club at least once a month ever since he quit corporate and opened his business. The first round is always on the house.
Hoseok, or Hobi as you affectionately call him, pouted in front of you as he leaned over the counter, his orange-tinted sunglasses falling slightly on the bridge of his nose. "Where are the people? Business is too slow for a Saturday for my liking!"
"You shouldn't have given us the martini for free, you know."  Minji scolded him through her thick fake eyelashes.
“Ayyye, that’s alright, it’s all gonna break even anyway when you start ordering more drinks,” Hobi scoffed at her which made Minji gasp.
“Are you saying I’m an alcoholic?”
Minji’s reaction caught him momentarily off guard before he burst into his infectious laughter, hands-clapping and all. “You know what they say, a fish is caught by its own mouth!”
“You’re harassing your customers, Hobi,” you playfully called out.
"Yeah, maybe that's the reason why your club is empty on a weekend!" Minji added.
"Yah… okay, okay, gang up on me now." Hoseok turned around to pull himself a pint of dark beer before resuming his spot in front of you. "What about you?" He pointed to you while bringing his glass up to his lips. "Still keeping it together?"
"What do you mean?"
Minji answered on your behalf, "I work for her so I guess it's safe to say things are going well on the business side of things."
"And the personal side of things?"
"First of all, the business side of things isn't all nice and dandy. We have been very busy. Personally, I'm fine," you assured your friends. "Except a few weeks ago when I totally forgot our anniversary and had to spend all day the next day making it up to Taehyung, we're generally good."
"He's not bored with you yet?" Hoseok teased.
"Hey! What's there to be bored about?" You turned your chin up. "I'm the most fun wife he could ever wish for!"
"He's still in love with you?" Hoseok continued to coax.
"He's obsessed with her," Minji rolled her eyes. "He looks at her like a lovestruck teenager, but this girl right here," Minji poked your cheek, "... is so dense."
"I'm not dense!" You defended. "Like, I know he loves me, I'm just not making a big deal out of it."
"What do you mean? You're literally married!" Hoseok looked at you incredulously.
"I don't know, why the sudden interest in my marriage?"
"Because you guys seem closer now, so Hobi and I are just curious if you have finally fallen in love with him too," Minji replied.
"Right," Hoseok agreed. "We know you love him because you were friends first before you got married– childhood friends! But…" he trailed off, examining your face, making sure he's not overstepping your boundaries too.
"But what?"
"Platonic love between friends and romantic love between married couples are different," he continued.
"We just want to check in on you and see where you are already," Minji patted one of your thighs. "That's what we do here in our once a month emotional support circle time, right?" She laughed at her own joke.
"Taehyung and I are doing well. We have our set routines. We already know each other well enough to know what makes each other tick." You nodded for good measure. "We're okay, so let's just drop the thing where you two try to break down what kind of love my husband and I share, because honestly, you guys are so cheesy."
"Jesus Christ! I've been called an alcoholic and cheesy in the past hour!" Minji rolled her eyes exaggeratedly, which made you and Hoseok break out in laughter.
"Okay, hear me out…" Hoseok suddenly became fidgety in his seat. "There's a reason why I asked about you and Taehyung."
"And…?"
"I wanted to make sure things are okay and secure between you before I give you this." Hoseok produced a small envelope from underneath the counter and slid it across over to you.
You recognized the logo, the pattern, and the black, gray, and beige color palette right away to know what it is. But things happened as fast as lightning as Minji snatched it from the counter and ripped it open, gasping when she confirmed the contents of the envelope.
"Why do you have a Gloss VIP ticket and a backstage pass?" Minji looked at Hoseok as if he suddenly grew two new heads. "Why are you giving this to her?"
"Yoongi asked me to give it to her." Hoseok looked back at you, trying to gauge your reaction. "It hasn't even hit the news that he's included his hometown for the tour, so he said to keep it hush-hush."
"That's not the point. He's her ex—"
"Yah, why do you think I asked her about Taehyung first? Besides—"
"Okay, guys, stop arguing." You took the envelope from Minji's hands. "It's fine. It wasn't even a bad break up between me and Yoongi," you smiled. You could feel the warmth starting to creep up from your neck to your cheeks, and you weren't sure if it's the alcohol talking, but you felt good at the moment. "I… Well, I'd love to go."
"Really?" Minji looked at you as if you've lost your marbles.
"Yeah, really."
People would often say that habits are hard to break – old habits are like a drug, consuming people with their powerful grip. It's like trying to resist something that's just too tempting. You keep getting drawn back in, even though you know you shouldn't. It's like a big, strong hand that won't let go of you. It's like a cozy blanket that you don't want to give up. It's hard to say goodbye to something that's been a part of you for so long.
Min Yoongi is like an old habit.
To you, he has always been a source of strength and comfort. He stood by you and held your hand when you were going through a rough time during your parents’ divorce. He stayed up late with you as you cried during a particularly hard time in college. He surprised you with an enormous bouquet of flowers, skipping one of his important basketball games, when your parents broke their promise to be there at your graduation. He would drive long hours, to different cities, just to be with you for your client presentations when your grandfather unloaded all his responsibilities on you, as soon as you got your degree. His words became your daily affirmation that you’re doing well, and it’s safe to say that he helped shape up the person that you are today.
He had been a part of you for seven whole years before things started to fall apart. The last straw was when he made it clear that you both wanted different things in life, and he couldn’t turn his back on his dreams to follow you down your own path. That's what caused your relationship to crumble. It's like the armor protecting your relationship got a big crack in it and couldn't hold up anymore. But he’s back now, clearly wanting to put all the broken pieces back together.
You felt a thrill with the way he’s looking at you. His eyes, albeit familiar, somehow felt off – staring into someone’s eyes that aren’t Taehyung’s felt odd and conflicting, but you ignored that niggling feeling and that’s how you found yourself pinned up against the wall of his private green room backstage after his two-hour long concert. Your tongues mingled and fought dominance against each other as his hands started roaming underneath your shirt. You gasped as you let your jaw drop when his lips started moving, trailing wet kisses down your jaw and your neck.
“Fuck,” Yoongi groaned when he felt your clothed nipple harden underneath his palm. “I missed this. I missed you.”
“Yoongi…” you whispered, before Yoongi captured your mouth again. You turned your head sideways, but he persistently continued trying to kiss you. “We shouldn’t…”
“I know…” He was panting, clearly worked up, as he went on to nibble on your earlobe and licked a long stripe on the skin underneath.
You tensed up and tried to pull his hands away from underneath your top, “I’m married, Yoongi. We can’t do th– hngh,” you almost keeled when Yoongi pressed his knee up between your legs, the friction against your jeans making you momentarily lose focus as his hand pulled down one of your cups and flicked your now bare nipple with his thumb in quick motions.
"You don't even love him." He whispered as he trailed kisses from your neck down to your chest.
"But I do…," you whispered, writhing against his hold. You couldn't shake Taehyung’s face out of your mind as Yoongi continued with his ministrations. You suddenly felt a chill go down your back and it made your neck feel all tingly. It felt like little needles were poking you all over your body. This is what made you snap out of your trance and push Yoongi away as hard as you could. “For fuck’s sake, Yoongi!”
Yoongi stepped back, both hands up in surrender, “I’m–” He turned around and ran his fingers through his hair before looking up at the ceiling, cursing under his breath. By the time he turned around to face you, you already fixed your clothes and your hair. “I was out of line, YN. I’m so sorry,” he reached out for your hands but you were quick to pull back.
“It’s over between us, Yoongi.” You shook your head. “Please," you pleaded, trying to suppress your anger. "I am in love with Taehyung,” your chest rising and falling from the realization that just hit you. “So please, don't reach out to me anymore. This is the last time we're seeing each other.”
That’s the last thing Yoongi heard from you before you slammed the door shut, leaving him crouched down on his couch, drowning in a pool of regret.
You were trying to stay above water in your own pool of regret, but with each passing day, it feels like you've created a distance with Taehyung who knows nothing. You would get up earlier in the morning to make his breakfast and leave for work before he even wakes up. You would come home late, barely even having the time to unwind before showering and hopping into bed. Taehyung would still be his sweet and loving self, making sure you’re comfortable all the time. He would still look at you like you have all the answers in the universe when he thinks you’re not looking. He would still pepper your face with kisses when he thinks you’re already deep in your slumber. He would still show up at your office unannounced bringing you and your whole team random treats. The more he did all those things, the deeper you went down the grave you dug out yourself.
You established that Taehyung has started to notice that you’re becoming more and more distant when he gently grabbed your wrist one weekend morning as you tried to escape from the kitchen, barely even touching your breakfast.
“Did I do something wrong?” He looked at you with soft puppy eyes, tongue darting out to swipe across his lips before subtly biting down on his lower lip, a clear sign that this confrontation is making him a bit nervous.
“What?” You were momentarily taken aback by his question before you felt a tightening knot of guilt in your gut. You were so out of touch lately that Taehyung started believing he’s the one who has done something wrong, and it couldn’t be further from the truth. “No, I–” you caught yourself, feeling conflicted on whether or not it was the right time to tell him about what happened between you and Yoongi about a week ago.
“Did I forget an important event?” He continued asking. “Your birthday is still a month from now, right?”
“Hey, baby, no…” You sat back down next to him and intertwined your fingers with his. You were surprised by how easily that term of endearment rolled off your tongue. If Taehyung noticed it, he didn’t let it show. “You didn't do anything wrong,” you rested your cheek against his shoulder, closed your eyes, and breathed in deeply, enjoying his warmth.
“Is there something bothering you then?” He rested his head against yours and soothingly rubbed small circles on your skin with his thumb. “You seem a bit quiet lately.”
“It’s just been quite hectic at the company lately, and I don’t know… I feel a bit out of it,” you replied, wincing a little. It’s not exactly a blatant lie. You recently lost a major client in the Philippines to a competitor brand and it created a big dip on your numbers. But you still felt bad for leaving out a major detail on why you’ve been avoiding Taehyung lately.
“Do you wanna come with me to the park? Jungkook and I arranged a puppy playdate, so might as well squeeze in a quick jog while we’re at it.”
“A puppy playdate?” You perked up and laughed, picturing your small six-year-old teacup pomeranian playing with Jungkook’s much younger gigantic two-year-old doberman. “You gotta watch out for Tannie, Bam might step all over him.”
Taehyung burst out laughing, covering his mouth with his fist, “Bammie is scared of Tan.”
You looked at him right at that moment, a smile still on your lips, and you suddenly felt overwhelmed with how much affection you actually have for him. He looked back at you and crossed the distance between you to nuzzle his nose against yours. “There it is,” Taehyung smiled back at you. “There’s the smile I’ve been missing these past few days.
“You’re such a sweet-talker,” you reached out to remove the hair that’s fallen in front of his eyes. "Go and have fun with JK and Bam, I need to stay behind and call Minji.”
“Okay,” Taehyung tried to hide his disappointment because he’s already used to you working on a weekend, and spending a great amount of time over the phone with your assistant. “Just don’t push yourself too much, it’s the weekend after all. My wife deserves to rest.”
You hummed in agreement, and just like before, a mere acknowledgment from you is enough to satisfy and make your husband happy.
However, when he walked through the door that afternoon after getting back from the park, it felt like an icy chill had settled over the entire bedroom. He looked mad and irritated. It was clear that something had gone horribly wrong, and whatever it was had taken its toll on his spirit. You wondered if he got into a fight with Jungkook, but judging on the way he avoided your eyes before making his way directly to your ensuite bathroom, a feeling of dread settled in your stomach.
A few minutes later, Taehyung stepped out of the bathroom and got dressed. He still hasn't said a word to you since he came back. You pretended you were busy on your computer but you were observing him through the corner of your eyes. You mustered up the courage and cleared your throat, "Had a good run?"
His fingers paused for a second while buttoning up his shirt, seemingly surprised by your question, but his face didn't show any sign of it. No answer. Your mind started whirring and you started losing focus on the deck you're working on, making the graphs and numbers slightly blur through your vision. Taehyung’s aura was suffused with negativity so palpable that it felt like a physical presence.
“Tae?” You turned around from your desk to fully face him, silently wishing he didn’t ignore you, he just didn’t hear you the first time. But it was too late, he’s got one foot out the door already, and it wasn’t long until you saw his car through the window, roll out of the garage as he drove away.
Taehyung had no destination in mind, but he kept driving.
As he gripped the steering wheel, his mind was consumed with thoughts of uncertainty and anger. The sprawling asphalt stretched endlessly before him like a dark and ominous path leading nowhere. His heart pounded relentlessly in his chest as he battled against the overwhelming feeling of betrayal and jealousy.
The conversation with Jungkook kept on playing at the back of his mind.
“Sorry, I was in a hurry last week! I thought we would run to each other backstage, but I was meeting my cousin, and I was already running late so I left as soon as the show was over.”
“Backstage?” Taehyung’s eyebrows furrowed as he tried to keep up with his friend and their dogs along the concrete joggers path at the park
“Yeah,” Jungkook blew air through his mouth to regulate his breathing. “At Gloss’ homecoming concert. Saw your wife, but I don’t think she saw me.”
Taehyung slowed down to catch his breath, but more so, to piece together the words that stood out from his friend’s statement. Gloss. Homecoming concert. Wife. He’s known his wife his whole life and he knew that Gloss is a big part of hers. Gloss is Yoongi’s stage name.
“I was gonna say hi to you, guys, after the show, but I saw that security had already escorted her backstage as soon as Gloss exited the stage,” Jungkook continued.
Escorted you where? As soon as when?
“Yeah, I–” Taehyung conjured a lie to protect you from the possibility of misjudgment if Jungkook found out he wasn’t with you that time. “I had to leave early. I had an early morning appointment the next day.”
“Oh.”
Taehyung likes giving you freedom and space. He believes that to refrain from probing into someone's whereabouts is to acknowledge their autonomy as an individual. But it also suggests a deeper level of intimacy - one where communication doesn't necessarily require words and where actions speak louder than questions ever could. This is the kind of relationship that's built on a foundation of mutual love, trust and respect. That’s the kind of relationship he wants both of you to have.
As he drove endlessly, with you in his mind, he started questioning everything - did you even care? Were you ever truly committed to this relationship? The uncertainty gnawed at his soul and felt like a stab at his heart. He pulled over on the side of the road before the overwhelming feeling of anger and betrayal bubbling up inside him threatened to overflow. Is he overreacting? Should he just ask you about the concert? Maybe Jungkook saw someone else, maybe it wasn’t you. But no matter how hard he tried to shake the possibility out of his mind, he knew deep inside that it was really you. Even though he didn't want to admit it, he felt like there was a force that kept bringing you and Yoongi together whenever you were near each other. It was like a magnet that just couldn't resist. He thought he would get past it after you married him, and Yoongi set on pursuing his career in the US. But now that Yoongi is back, all of Taehyung’s insecurities came rushing back as well, consuming him whole like a drop of black ink in a puddle of clear water.
Also similar to a drop of ink in clear water, your mind was clouded with worry when Taehyung failed to pick up and answer all the calls that you made, and the text messages you sent throughout the day. It is unlike him to ignore your calls and texts. Your worry multiplied tenfold when he came home late that night, clearly drunk, knowing he had driven himself.
"Tae?" You stood up from the couch to meet him by the door. You couldn’t sleep because you haven't heard from him all day, so you decided to wait for him downstairs.
When you heard his car pull up, you finally breathed out a sigh of relief, until he came through the door in his inebriated state.
"Where have you been? Why didn't you answer my calls?" You have so many questions but you decided to bite your tongue because you didn't want him to feel like he's getting nagged. If anything, you wanted him to feel supported, especially if he's going through a difficult time.
He looked at you and for a moment you thought you saw sadness flash in his eyes. He crossed the distance between you and snaked his arm around your waist, pulling you flush against him. "Did I make you worry?" He asked, face getting closer to yours, and his other free hand resting on your jaw.
You hummed and Taehyung scoffed, before the hand that's on your jaw traveled up on the back of your head, pulling a fist of your hair, exposing your neck. Your breath hitched and your heart started hammering loudly in your chest when he dipped his head and started sucking bruises on the column of your neck.
You closed your eyes in pleasure as his lips traveled down your chest, and you arched your back involuntarily when he pressed your hips harder against him, letting you feel his hardening member against your lower belly. You wrapped your legs around his waist when he lifted you up and took you to the couch. He didn't even bother to undress you properly, he just aggressively pulled the straps of your nightgown down to your waist, releasing your full breasts with a bounce. Arousal pooled between your legs when Taehyung captured one of your nipples in his mouth, your hands flying to his head holding him against you as you arched your back, wanting to feel him closer.
You heard the jangling sound of his belt moments later and before you realized what’s happening, he’s already pulling your panties aside and burying himself inside you. It was rough, sloppy, and careless. You could feel him getting lost in the feeling, but you could also feel all the pent up emotions and frustration he’s taking out on the act. You let him. You let him use you, setting aside your own pleasure. You knew he was getting closer as his whimpers and grunts were getting louder. It’s not long after when you felt his release, filling you up, along with a jagged breath ghosting over your skin.
“You okay, babe?” You asked softly, hands coming up to brush back the hair that’s fallen in front of his eyes. He visibly flinched when your fingers made contact with his skin, and wasted no time as he got up and tucked himself in, before grabbing the throw blanket from one end of the couch and hazily throwing it over your figure. He has never treated you that way before.
You thought you heard him sniff as he walked away from you, but you couldn’t make out the sound, as it was drowned out by the sound of your own heart breaking.
To be continued.

i am so excited for your new kth fic!
I am so excited to publish it as well! ☺ I'm feeling a little generous today so, here's a little teaser from This Time Around, my upcoming two-part KTH fic dropping on June 13th and 18th!
You spat out the toothpaste water before answering, “It’s this weekend already?” Your eyebrows furrowed, trying to remember the date.
“Married couple?” You turned around and walked towards the shower, reaching for Taehyung’s face before tiptoeing and planting a sweet kiss on his lips. “We’re business partners, honey.”

not a mingyu stan but ngl, this is too cute, it made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside!! my baby puppy!!!
warning: fem!reader bc this is a lil self indulgent, mentions of future kids (as a joke) tht are p much implied to be biological.
“oh my god.”
as much as you love your boyfriend’s friends, there’s a reason why you rarely hang around them for extended periods of time. mingyu was deep in conversation with wonwoo on the couch. key word: was, because you had been literally standing there, talking to seungkwan, when you took the tiniest of side-steps and lost your balance, nearly tripping over yourself. this is common enough in mingyu’s eyes, but it was seungkwan’s “oh my god” that shut up several people.
“is this why you like her?” seungkwan says in a stage-whisper. he’s drunk (and, honestly, clearly joking), his face is red, and you know it. “mingyu.”
mingyu only giggles from his spot. you find yourself smiling a little, too. between shutting your own clothing in doors, or bumping your head on the inside of whatever car you’re in, or tripping over your own feet… you’re clumsy. and mingyu knows it. he opens his arms up, gesturing for you to come over to him.
“what if it is?” mingyu asks, and he easily pulls you into his arms when you get close enough. “it’s cute.”
“are you the same person?” he asks, “should we be worried? she almost fell over nothing–”
“it’s cute,” mingyu insists, snuggling you closer to his chest. “it’s okay. we catch each other,” he giggles.
“she barely even moved!” seungkwan says, and then lets out a sigh. “of course mingyu finds someone almost as clumsy as he is…”
“almost?!” mingyu speaks up. and you nearly bury your face in his shoulder out of embarrassment.
“so she’s as bad as you?” seungcheol looks up from his phone. “ah… remind me to never babysit your children.”
mingyu hugs you a little tighter, almost as if he’s shielding you, but he giggles again. “it’ll be alright,” he says. “if two negatives make a positive… i think our child would be coordinated.”
“or worse than you,” minghao doesn’t even look up.
mingyu must be in a sappy mood, because he just presses his cheek against your shoulder. “nah… if it’s with her, then i think our kids would be perfect.”
with ease, the topic shifts from teasing the two of you to teasing mingyu alone… and you just cuddle into his arms closer, thankful to have a boyfriend who cares about you. even if the two of you haven’t told the others the real story of how you met (… because you did end up tripping into his arms, and ended up liking them so much that you stayed).

Jungkook hissed in frustration as he fiddled with one of the GoPros that’s supposed to be hidden and camouflaged amongst the liquors and spirits lining the glass shelf behind the counter. His mood was a bit off and he couldn’t concentrate on what he’s supposed to be doing because of your presence in the studio.
It’s not like he’s not used to working with you, but his sour mood wasn’t because of you per se, it’s because of what he’s seeing in his peripheral vision— you, a few meters away from him, deeply involved in a conversation with a man he barely even knew.
Your network is launching a new reality competition show called Behind the Bar, where world-class mixologists showcase their cocktail-crafting skills as they compete for a hefty prize — it’s Namjoon’s biggest project by far, spearheaded by your in-house self-proclaimed alcohol connoisseur, Yoongi. As the main director, Jungkook is required to do test screens and monitoring, to make sure he’s got all the angles and the blocking right.
The competitors and the judges were scheduled to show up, but you’re neither a competitor nor a judge, that’s why it baffled him to see you entering the studio. You sauntered in with one of the judges, the mixologist who designed the drinks menu of almost every bar in Seoul, Yoon Sejeong, and a man who looked oddly familiar but for some reason, he couldn’t point out who.
“Jimin hyung, we’re good to go,” he signaled to the show’s producer who took it as his queue to get all the participants — competitors and judges alike, to take their positions on the makeshift bar setting. Yoon Sejeong took her spot, which left you and whatshisname on your own, comfortably talking in the corner of the studio.
The dark haired man seemed to be so invested in what you’re saying, because he leaned in a little bit closer, shifting his weight on his elbow anchored on the cocktail table. Jungkook noticed two deep dimples gracing his cheeks when he smiled at whatever it was that you’re… you know what, he couldn’t just stand there and act all oblivious to the fact that some random leather jacket-wearing bloke is flirting with his girlfriend.
“Dude…” he tapped his AD1 on the shoulder. “Mingyu, bro…”
Mingyu took off his headphones and looked at him questioningly. Jungkook grumbled something incoherent to him before storming off. Following Jungkook with his eyes, Mingyu couldn’t help but shake his head and smirk in amusement, knowing full well what got his bestfriend all worked up.
“Hey, babe…”
You turned around when you heard your boyfriend’s voice, and it took you a split second to realize that he had pressed his lips firmly against yours in greeting. Something about Jungkook’s aura is different, especially since he’s not one to display affection publicly.
“Hi… I–” you caught Jungkook’s eyes flitting between you and the man in front of you. “Oh, this is Seungcheol, DK’s friend… the owner of the bar we went to, to celebrate the launch of the morning show, remember?”
Seungcheol smiled at Jungkook and reached out for a handshake, which the latter gladly accepted.
“Oh yeah, yeah… Nice meeting you again. I’m Jungkook, YN’s boyfriend.” He cleared his throat, “So, uh… what brings you here? Are you a consultant?” He asked, tonguing his lip ring out of habit, genuinely curious.
“Yoon Sejeong is my cousin,” he pulled his lips into a thin smile as he nodded. “It’s actually her first time on a set up like this, so she’s a bit nervous, and I’m just here for moral support.” He chuckled. “Thankfully, we ran into YN in the hallway.”
Jungkook’s jaw visibly clenched when Seungcheol looked at you a little bit too fondly for his liking as he stated his last sentence.
“I went to middle school with her,” you added. But your boyfriend’s attention is still set on Seungcheol. This is new to you, since your friends are mostly men— but those men are also friends with Jungkook. Seungcheol, however, is someone he just met. You felt the tension radiating off your boyfriend, and you’re not sure what to do in this situation except silently wish it would blow over. As if the gods heard your silent prayer, Seungcheol's phone rang and he had to excuse himself to take the call. Jungkook followed him with his eyes as he left the room. "What's up with you?"
"Huh?"
Suddenly he's back to the doe-eyed innocent-looking Jungkook, as if he didn't just try to size up Seungcheol.
"Are you okay? You seem… I don't know, ready to fight or something?"
Jungkook heaved a deep sigh and looked at you, studying your face. Feeling resigned, he didn’t know how to answer your question. Is he okay?
“Ow!” Jungkook flinched, clutching his chest after your fist landed on him. “What was that for?!”
The punch weighed like a kitten and not enough really enough to hurt anyone.
“He’s DK’s friend, are you trying to intimidate him?” You hissed at him, both hands resting on your hips, like a teacher scolding a child.
“Why does he look at you with hearts in his eyes?” He pouted.
You rolled your eyes at your boyfriend in disbelief. “Are you jealous?”
“And if I am?” he challenged, chin held up high and eyebrows rising to his hairline. “Yah… You’re defending him too.”
The whole situation greatly amused you, as if you’re not in the work place— a crowded studio that is— where both you and Jungkook are respected in your field, yet here you both are, bickering like a teenage couple in the corner. It’s so amusing to you that you started giggling— partly because of the situation, and partly because the fact that your boyfriend is jealous of another guy looking at you is making your heart flutter.
“What’s so funny?” Jungkook looked at you intently.
“Because…” you started, gently cupping his face between your palms. “I,” you squished his both his cheeks, puckering up his lips in the process. “Love,” squish again. “Only,” another squish. “You,” you held the last squish in place, tiptoeing, and planting a soft kiss on his pink little puckers.
Jungkook’s face contorted before he burst out laughing— the nose scrunching and eyes wrinkling kind that you love so much. He loosened your hands away from his face and intertwined them with his. “You’re cheesy, you know that?”
“You love it and you love me, though,” you replied smugly.
“That’s true, that’s true.” Jungkook sighed in contentment, before spotting Seungcheol coming back into the room. “Okay, I’ll leave you and your friend here. I have to get back to work.”
“Okay,” you smiled up at him. “See you later.”
“I love you.”
“I love you more.”
- End -

OHMYGOD THIS SONG
seungcheol + your universe !!! <3
I hope you enjoy this one! I made it a little more domestic than outwardly emotional, hope that's okay!
masterlist
[10:58]
You broke Seungcheol's glasses again. It was never intentional, of course. It might even be his fault for leaving them under the blankets, knowing fully well you would jump in without a second thought.
You weren't thinking about that as you wiggle the side and watch it separate beyond any superglue's powers. He had just bought them too.
It wasn't that he couldn't afford new ones, nicer ones. Heck, he could buy out the company if he really wanted. But this wasn't the first time this had happened. You had also sat on the last ones and pushed the ones before that off the bedside in your sleep.
Seungcheol had been a dream every time the same calamity has happened, not even sparing the broken pieces a glance before asking if there were shards of glass and if they hurt you.
You weren't betting on him being too nice this time, seeing as he's already in a horrible mood after a bad dance practice.
"Y/n, have you seen my glasses?" This would normally be the time you would nag at him for leaving his stuff in random spots he can never find, but alas, you had put yourself in this predicament and needed to get yourself out.
"Cheollie, I might have broken them," You say, as you walk outside to where you find him trying to fix yourselves a snack.
He turns around at the sound of your voice, his hair is still wet from his shower, Tee also a little wet from the droplets.
You aren't sure if it's your guilty conscious, but you really want him to hold you rigt now.
"Oh" is all he says, turning back around to close the open cabinet.
"Are you hurt? Did you sit on them again?" He asks coming over to inspect the damage.
"What did I do to deserve you?" It's a severely misplaced comment, one that he laughs a little at nonetheless. You didn't mean to say it, but he was going beyond what you'd thought he'd react like already, and the love just comes flowing out.
"What? Because I asked if you were okay? Basic human decency, don't you think?" He says as he places (what once were) his glasses on the counter and takes you in his arms instead.
"Fuck the glasses, I had a long day I just wanna hold you for eternity" he exaggerates, enticing a giggle from you.
His muscles relax into you as he breathes in your scent, there's a quite literal feeling of elation as he registers that he's actually done for the day. He's associated you with calm and refuge, and it shows when there's seemingly nothing you could do or say that registers as wrong.
In this moment, he knows how you feel, that there's a part of you that's thanking your lucky stars. Which you are, as you wonder how you managed to find someone like him.
He'd hate to break it to you, but when someone like you needs only to exist to fix his every problem, it can only be him that's the lucky one.

“Don’t worry about your car, I’ll drive it back to yours tomorrow,” DK gave you a quick hug before you hopped up on Jungkook’s car.
“Okay…”
Your boyfriend made sure you’re safely inside before shutting the door, turning to DK and Mingyu before giving them a manly pat on the shoulder each. “See you later.”
“Drive safe, bro.” Mingyu waved him off and stood on the sidewalk with DK until they saw him drive off.
The four of you agreed to meet up at DK’s place for some barbecue but ended up sharing a feast at a newly opened restaurant a few blocks away. Dinner was filled with laughter, banter, and lots of stories from your college days. You and Jungkook were still laughing about them in the car as you drove off.
“... and then Soonyoung kept on insisting the word was ‘EPIK HIGH,’” you were almost crying from laughter on the passenger seat.
“What was he trying to guess again?” Jungkook couldn’t help but chuckle, because your laughter was contagious.
“Jeonghan said ‘apple mango,’ but Mingyu misread his lips as ‘apple pie.’”
“Ohh… apple pie - Epik High…” Jungkook burst into laughter imagining the whisper challenge game that their friends did at their graduation party. He knew he had fun that night but his memory was clouded by the kiss you shared underneath the lamppost outside, when he attempted to walk you home.
“I can’t believe you don’t remember any of it!”
“I do remember that I kissed you outside that night though…” he glanced at you with a small smile that got you flustered. Jungkook noticed the tinge of red that graced the apple of your cheeks, “What? Did I make your heart flutter?” He smirked.
“Stop!” You avoided his gaze and distracted yourself with the strap of your purse. “Focus on driving, bun.”
“Yes, ma’am…” He replied in a sing-song voice, internally smiling at the term of endearment you used on him.
“Wait… I just remembered–”
“Oh yeah, I have–”
Both of you started at the same time.
“Ladies first… what did you remember, hun?”
“Okay…” You adjusted yourself in the seat to get a good look at the backseat of Jungkook’s car. “Did you bring your gear with you?”
“Yeah, they’re mostly in the trunk. Why?” Jungkook curiously eyed you while tonguing his lip ring. “Do you need anything?”
“Mingyu said when you tried to ask me out all those years ago, but accidentally insulted me instead, you had a great big plan in mind.” You started. “He said you wanted to go on a photowalk and take my photos.”
Jungkook pursed his lips and nodded, “Yeah, I think the photos would turn out better because you’re the prettiest muse.” He shook his head in disbelief, remembering the day and his words clear as day. “Ugh, I can’t believe I worded that incorrectly back then! So stupid, Jeon Jungkook!”
You were momentarily entranced as you took a good look at the man sitting next to you. The streetlights reflected in his eyes, making them a bit more sparkly, like they hold the entire galaxy in them. The soft yellow glow illuminating his face highlighted his beautiful features, too.
“The night is still young, bun…” You smiled up at him before reaching out and tucking a strand of hair behind his ear. You’re loving this slightly longer hair on him. “Are you thinking what I’m thinking?”
As if on cue, the traffic lights turned red, giving Jungkook the perfect opportunity to cup your face between his palms and leaned in for a soft kiss. “Yes, let’s do it!”

“I had so much fun, bun.” You and Jungkook walked hand in hand as you made your way to your front door. “We’re always so busy with work, that we sometimes forget how good it feels just to walk around and take the outdoors in.”
“Hmm…” Jungkook hummed in agreement. “I’m a bit sad though.”
You let out a small gasp, stopping in your tracks. “Why?”
“You didn’t even let me get a decent photo of you,” he pouted.
“Why do you need a photo of me?” You teased, momentarily letting go of his hand to key in your door code.
Jungkook rested his hand on the small of your back as he guided both of you inside. “Why would I not want a photo of you?” He replied softly, a tinge of hurt still apparent in his voice.
“Hey…” You turned around to face him before wrapping your arms around his neck. Like clockwork, Jungkook automatically wrapped his arms around your waist and leaned in to rest his forehead against yours. “Are you seriously sad that I didn’t let you take my photos?”
“Hmn…” He closed his eyes and heaved in a deep breath. “I just want to freeze these moments with you, you know? I want to see you, all sides of you, from all angles.”
Jungkook’s words would have reduced you into a mushy puddle if they could. The sincerity in his voice, coupled with his warm breath tickling your cheeks, were enough to set your heart ablaze. His close proximity made you hyper sensitive too, especially when his fingers grazed the exposed skin near the waistband of your jeans.
You ran your fingers through your boyfriend’s hair from the back of his head, putting just a little pressure on his scalp, causing a small groan to escape from his lips. Without missing a beat, you gently pulled him down towards your face for a sweet kiss.
Jungkook kissed you back, one hand sneaking underneath your shirt, splaying across the small of your back. The other, resting on your jaw, angling your face as he deepened the kiss.
“Jungkook,” you whispered breathlessly between kisses.
“Yes…?” Jungkook continued kissing you, planting soft pecks on the corner of your lips, your jaw, and the sweet spot beneath your ear.
“You can see all of me now…”
Jungkook stopped to catch his breath, eyes roaming across your face as if seeing you for the first time again. His mind began getting hazy as he got all worked up, not sure if he’s reading so much into things, or if you’re really saying what he thinks you’re saying. “Baby…” He tucked a strand of hair behind your ear, before tilting your chin up to look straight into your eyes. “Please tell me you want this as much as I do.”
“I want this,” you reached out to touch his face, his eyes closing at the contact. “You can see all of me now…” you smiled up at him.
Jungkook pulled you closer to him, feeling your heartbeats against each other. “All of you?”
“All sides of me…” you kissed his nose. “From all angles.”
Finally, you captured his lips again.
