, My beloved little schnitzel, @KimPetras, became a #GrammyAward-winning recording artist last night for “#Unholy,” which she was featured by @SamSmith on! I’ve been a fan of her’s for years and have been fortunate enough to meet her a few times (she even remembered me the second time) before some of her shows and can confidently tell you she’s a complete sweetheart. After knowing her story and how hard she worked to have her talent be known and taken seriously, I couldn’t be happier for her win. Well-deserved and even harder earned recognition for an amazing artist, who just so happens to be the first out #transgender person to win this category of Pop Duo/Group Performance (the same award @GwenStefani, one of her idols she’s spoken about, previously won twice with @NoDoubt). A huge win for not just her and the #trans community, but for the representation of the entire #LGBTQ+ community. , A few months back, I was lucky enough to watch a screening of this very weird AF film – and I mean that in a VERY good way. It’s gory yet tender, intense yet loving. I literally can’t remotely compare it to anything I’ve ever seen – and uniqueness is a good thing in my book. Undoubtedly the best film I’ve seen this year! 💀 🩸 When it premiered at #TheVeniceFilmFestival, it got a ten-minute standing ovation and, while it currently has a 89% score on @RottenTomatoes, I just know that it’s going to be SUPER divisive when it gets it’s wide-release on Thanksgiving weekend. I really liked it, but the best things about it are Luca’s direction, the cinematography, the amazing score by my beloved @TReznor, and, of course, my sweet, sweet @TChalamet. However, the best thing about the entire movie is the talented @TayRussell’s performance who carries the entire film and does so incredibly. It’s def’ Luca’s most experimental film to-date and it’s beautifully shot. I love the symbolism of being “othered” by society that the concept of cannibalism seems to stand for. I just fear the in-your-face, explicit gruesomeness is going to be too much for “sensitive” and easily “triggered” (especially American 🙄 ) audiences. It’s not going to be an easy watch for a lot of people, but I highly recommend it. The pay-off of what the finished film is is completely worth it. If you’re a film-lover, like I am, I think you’ll enjoy it and appreciate the film’s artistic endeavors. #LosAngeles and #NewYork, #LucaGuadagnino’s “#BonesAndAll” hits select theatres today.
