Do you have any advice for someone who's good at creating a mental movie of a story, but has trouble with writing it out effectively?

I am so sorry I took forever to respond! (I increased my hours at work so my schedule and energy levels have been out of whack.)

Outlining. There are lots of different ways to outline but one way you could try is to write it out like a movie script.  Then once you have the dialogue and action down, start filling in all the other parts of description, exposition, etc.

Summaries.  Another way is to write out a summary of the scene you have visualized. It doesn’t even have to be complete sentences.  You can just write down images or snippets or just start describing what you “see” and go into as much detail as needed.  Don’t worry if it makes complete sense.  The idea is to translate the visual feeling into words and that is not always a one to one ratio.

Storyboarding.  If you are a visual person, then storyboarding and drawing out the scene might work best for you, as if you were making a movie.

And don’t worry if what you write is not the perfect movie you see in your head.  It will take some time and editing to shape the words into how you image them. So don’t get discourage and keep at it!

PWS updated recently…ish, and I’ve been wanting to draw something from this scene ever since X’’D There’s a scene from Poor Wayfaring Stranger, by Lithos_saeculum, in the latest chapter where Ignis and Gladio help Prompto understand some more emojis through visual demonstration. <3 The mental image was so cute to me, I had to draw it…and more eyesore outfit ideas for Prompto as well :P
