When I say there are things that Israel will never ever take away from Palestinians I also mean the way the fight for Palestine is ingrained into every aspect of our lives, down to even the names we give our children who come decades and decades after our initial Nakba.
For example, Bisan is a very popular girls name in Palestine and it is the name of a Palestinian city that was depopulated by Israel in 1948. Girls with names like Bisan, Yafa and Jenin may not have seen these cities yet, but they carry them within them regardless.
Also, many Palestinians can identify with how our aunts and uncles have symbolic names such as A'ed or A'eda which mean returnee. These names were not chosen arbitrarily by our grandparents who were forced to raise their families in refugee camps. Similarly, there are names like Thaer (revolutionary), Bassel (courageous) and Nidhal (revolutionary struggle) that are very common to this day.
We are literally walking around carrying notions of Palestine and our struggle with us and planting the seeds of resistance within our children, we must be so frustrating!

i just don’t think “is dude gender neutral” is that productive of a conversation because a word can be gendered and still used regardless of gender. i call my male friends girlypop and my female friends man but i don’t think anybody would agree that those are somehow not gendered terms.
the real question is just “would you be willing to apologize and stop using a word if somebody told you it made them uncomfortable?” the answer to which in a surprising number of cases is no mostly because it seems like overall ppl r more upset abt getting accused of transphobia than they are abt being transphobic

im sorry but i literally feel insane trying to explain how copyright and ip are bad for anyone who is not a large powerful corporation. i dont even own the rights to my own paper that i wrote because it's published in a springer journal. my own master's thesis that it's based on legally belongs to my university. these laws do not exist to protect small time artisans or writers or musicians and we have seen over and over and over again how corporations with the money to win legal battles are able to use them as a cudgel against creators of all stripes. like wtf are people on about lmao

i look up "autism in own world" because my therapist know that something people always use to describe me and she ask what it mean to me. i not really have the words to answer question so i wanted to research about it. when i look it up page come up talking about how that incorrect and how it ableist to act like we "disconnected" in any way. and it get me thinking about how "disconnected" i feel my whole life. as someone who struggle extremely with social awareness, understanding what happening around me, proprioception, connecting with people, communication, language as whole (understanding and finding words to communicate), social isolation and enjoying my time by myself, how can i not feel like in my own world? it just really make me mad that person completely erase whole part of community. whole group of autistics that actually feel in they own world. in a way that person actually have me able to answer my therapist question. just have me thinking.
anyways autistics who feel like you in you own world i wish you comfort there i wish you peace there and i wish you safety there.

Not feminist as in "women should be included in the draft" but feminist as in "being drafted is a violation of bodily autonomy for any gender".
The draft should not exist. Drafting people into the military is a violation of human rights. You should not be able to force someone to risk their life. If you can't find enough people who care about a conflict to keep it going then it simply shouldn't keep going. You can't even force someone to donate a kidney using government power, why the fuck can you force them to donate their whole body and life to a cause they don't agree with or don't care about?

i hate this popular sentiment that's like "nobody cares about your baby" "nobody cares what you had for dinner" "nobody cares about your spotify wrapped" like ok why are you on social media following people whose lives you don't care about. there's an easy fix for that

a gentle fact about this world is that people will want to help you. a cruel fact about it is that you do have to put on your big boy pants and open their contact on your phone and say some human words to ask them for it
